I think he suffered from filling the gap left by Rob Jones, Jones is the best English right back I've ever seen and Mcateer was extremely poor in comparisant. He was also one of the worst crossers of a ball I have ever witnessed save for a lovely ball he put in for Fowler in the first 4-3 game against Newcastle.

I expected about fifty million to be spent, that's including any money raised through player sales. I don't think that's an unreasonable expectatation given the fact that we've been taken over, got a few players to sell, had a good European Cup run and have this new TV money coming in.

Exellent news this, I'm really buzzing now. Alonso is without doubt one of our most important players and I had a nasty feeling he was going to leave this summer. If we can get some quality attacking players in for Alonso to aim his passes at he will have a storming season, mark my words.
