  2. This talk about fan cards has reminded me about another stitch up by our club. Whilst in Athens I had my wallet robbed by some shit bag in syntagma (sp?) square, my fancard was one of the things I lost as a result. Now I haven't personally had any use for it for the last two seasons as I now have a season ticket courtesy of my mates brother who moved down south. However I do allow my mates to use it for tickets and I would require it again should my mates brother move back up here. Anyway basically my mate rang up to get Toulouse tickets on my card (I had the fancard number saved to my phone)and asked if they could send out a replacement. They informed him it would cost £10 to replace. So it's £2.50 for a new card but if you've already got a fancard and invested thousands of pounds into the club by purchasing tickets on it it's four times as much. Needless to say, I didn't get a replacement card.
  3. The only difference was you went down a different route to make the same point. I'm not entering in to an argument with you Nick as I find arguing with a stranger on an internet forum to be a strange and futile practise. I know how you feel about our transfer dealings over the summer as you mention it in every thread on the board. For what it's worth I agree with you with regards to us failing to sign a proper winger, I just wish you wouldn't mention it at every oppurtunity.
  4. The first half performance was pretty good today, we really should have been out of sight by the time Spurs equalised. However both the nature and more importantly, the timing of their goals seemed to suck the confidence out of the players. In the second half only Finnan and Voronin looked worthy of being Liverpool players, and the performance was nothing short of terrible. We seemed to lack character and looked worryingly short of ideas once Spurs began to defend (a trend that has been all too common over the last ten years). I'm not going to single players out but there are far too many who are either out of form at the moment or simply not good enough. The next few games take on extra significance now. Six points from the shite and Arsenal as well as a win against Besiktas and things will be looking good again, if we drop more than two points in those two league games however then it will almost certainly be another title challenge over by October. Alonso and Agger can't come back soon enough as we really struggle to retain the ball when they're not around. Aggers absence means the defence is constantly hoofing the ball up and bypassing the midfield and as I've said before Alonso is the most important player we have to the way we play. Without him there is no one to put a foot on the ball and have a look, and a serious lack of composure. In my opinion we're now entering a critical phase in Rafa's tenure, the crossroads if you like.
  5. You've already said that in your previous post on this thread. Can you please refrain from sounding like a broken record? Thankyou.
  6. I think Sami will be rested because he can't play more than once a week anymore. I'm going for; Reina Finnan Carra Arbeloa Aurellio Benayoun Sissoko Gerrard Babel Crouch Kuyt
  7. I've been to Rome twice and I'm still yet to see everything, there is so much to do there. The obvious ones are the roman forum, colosseum etc, the vatican and pantheon. The churches are amazing as well, it's worth dropping in to random ones as they've all got something to offer. Alot of restaurants are over priced so it's best to be careful when looking for something to eat.
  8. Some good shouts on here, anything by Ennio Morricone tends to be brilliant. The Thin Red Line is one of my personal favourites, there's a real soulful element to the songs of the south sea island tribes.
  9. He'd have been under the drain if there was.
  10. That clears that one up then, I've not seen the Liverpool one so I thought the idea was exclusive to the bitters.
  11. I take the Bill Shankly line on this, if a player isn't intefering with play then he shouldn't be on the pitch.
  12. Anyone see that bus on Castle Street today, it was embarrassing. The bus was covered from top to bottom with pictures of Blue "legends" and various images from their oh so illustrious past. It also had their honours written on it and next to the 1987 league title it said "Champions......again!" as if it's a regular occurance. The slogan on the side said "Capital football in a cultured city." Anyway I was looking at this bus trying to work out what the point was, as it pulled away I saw the back of the bus where it said "To sign up now dial this number". The silly bastards are actually vandalising buses now in order to get people to go to their sordid little shit hole. What a joke of a club they are.
  13. Kaka. Messi is certainly up there and rapidly improving but Kaka can influence a game like no other player around at the moment.
  14. That's the thing with facebook, friendsreunited and the rest. It's just a way of dick heads that you can't stand finding a way of getting back in touch with you. The majority of my "friends" on facebook are bad teds who I thought I'd never have to converse with again. Alas I was wrong, technology caught up with me.
  15. Sounds like bollocks to me, I doubt he's the first player Rafa has signed who Pako had reservations about (that's if he did anyway). I'm much more inclined to believe the theory about the change in the pre season routine being the main reason for the bust up.
  16. This isn't the first time you've been to university though is it Charles? Remember your stint in Leeds as a primary school teacher in the making?
  17. That's what I thought. Is Rash just talking shit again then?
  18. I think they've got as good a chance as anyone, especially now Fabregas appears to have moved on a level.
  19. He's from Birkenhead, a mate of my missus knows him. Looks like a decent film, wouldn't mind seeing it myself.
  20. Good post mate and I agree almost entirely but out of interest where abouts do you sit? The reason I ask is that I really didn't hear much booing, apart from a few tits right on the final whistle but I didn't think it was very noticable(I sit in the main stand, towards the anny road end). Maybe it was more prominant in a certain area of the ground.
  21. I defended Rafa's decision to rest Torres and Gerrard last weekend due to the international break and I think the decision was vindicated during the Porto game when both players looked tired. I can't defend Rafa's choice of strikers this week however, in short it cost us the game. Voronin took about half an hour just to touch the ball and had a bit of a nightmare. He should have made way for Torres yet Rafa took Babel off instead, who had a decent game. The team lost all shape as a result and a draw was inevitable from that point. Rafa's reasoning for not selecting Torres pissed me off a bit as he seems to be guilty of over analysing the situation at times. He didn't pick Torres because he didn't think they'd be any space to get in behind the Birmingham defence but surely the speed and guile Torres posseses would have created openings that we failed to create in his absence. Without Torres we lacked any conviction going forward and looked completely void of ideas. It's vital we beat Wigan and Spurs now and get back into some sort of form. The league is not impossible this season but yesterday was certainly a reality check, and we can't afford many more days like that.
  22. Seriously mate, hardly anyone booed by where I sit and you get a lot of the day tripping. "easy, easy" whoppers in that part of the main stand. There were a few boos but nothing significant.
  23. There are some dick heads on this thread. First of all, hardly anyone booed yesterday bar a handful of wankers who have probably never been to a game of football in their lives prior to that. Yesterday's performance was terrible and I was furious afterwards, so I left without applauding the players, but anyone that thinks you have the right to boo Liverpool because you've payed for a match ticket is a twat who should support that shower from accross the park.
