  1. There's a poster on RWK goes by the name Gedo. I believe he previously used the moniker Durango. He used to post decent info around the time of the takeover and also shortly after. He is now saying that what he's heard, fits in with ShanksLegend's post.
  2. Nope. The poster doing the celebrating was Cowtownred. Shortly after he said that there was a deal in place, Shanksegend asked for the post to be removed, because he had not heard a bean. So it turns out that he was actually right.
  3. Not getting "all precious about it". Maybe unlike yourself, a lot of people don't differentiate between OOTs and daytrippers. When you're talking about the disctinction about real fans and the day tripper, then I'd toally agree with you. Not that different to the prawn sandwich brigade at old toilet. Problem is, it's going to take a hell of a lot of organising and if the daytrippers are to be targetted for education, then it's going to take the match going regulars to be out there handing out leaflets or whatever other form of action is required. As things stand, I can't see any such thing happening until people start talking to each other rather than seeing who can shout loudest.
  4. Isn't this what SOS are supposed to be focusing on? I'd have thought the locals will get wind of all this stuff before us OOTs that have to rely on the forums for news. I don't want to make this about SOS or any other group, but surely you're not telling me that the locals don't know what's going on?
  5. The whole business of OOTs is bollox. When the whole idea of boycotting the replica kit first came up a few months ago, it was the locals parading the kit on SSN. As an OOT, I sent back the home kit my wife got for my birthday back in Feb and still haven't got the new one. Won't be getting it either until the yank cunts are gone. Plenty of locals at the LFC store though and walking around in the replica kit on SSN.
  6. Could be something about Villa not being a traditional centre forward, but more of a winger. Or maybe the other way round. Or that little rant could be a hint that he has issues. :|
  7. Surely if the capital injection is going into the account of the club itself, then it's the LFC board, and not the board of Kop Ltd, that decides whether to accept the caption injection. It's like the voting on the board - it's the member of the LFC board that would have to vote other members off or oto the board.
  8. For the benefit of those with Rash on ignore, I won't quote him in full... Rash... the problem as I see it, is we DO understand your point. We, well most of us, think your point is bollocks. Hope that helps.
  9. In all of this, I think people are worrying a little bit too much on how long Hicks will be around. It's highly likely that he will be gone eventually, but like al the preceding discussions, it is all supposition. The more important thing is that we've seen that Gillett is desperate to sell and Hicks can't afford to buy Gillett's share. We've also seen that with the current climate, Hicks has been unable to raise further finance through a proposed flotation of his sports "empire" which is highly leveraged anyway. We've also seen that the Amercican financial markets have suffered to an extent that means Hicks is highly unlikely to be able to find another player to buy Gillett's share. Gillett has also stated that he wouldn't sell his share to Hicks and I assume, that by extension, someone nominated by Hicks. Anyway, if you were looking to invest in the region of $250m, would you sit tight until the market conditions improve, or get into bed with a gobshite who has made quite a mess of various sporting "franchises" along the way? The latest developments in the financial markets, would also mean that borrowing is slightly more difficult than 2-3 months ago, so any new investor that Hicks could find would probably have to have a lot of spare cash lying around. The only buyer out there at the moment, appears to be DIC, and according to a number of people, Gillett has already agreed, in principle at least, to sell his share to them. DIC appear to think that Hicks veto on the sale of Gillett's shares can be legally overturneed/challenged. So where does that leave Hicks?
  10. One other thing with regards to Hicks. Although he is richer than Gillett, the important thing is, how cash rich? The vast majority of his business empire is funded by borrowed money. Additionally, doesn't Hicks sports group in the states own his 50% share of Kop Holdings? Hicks recently tried to attract investors to this sports group that includes his American sports teams under a special rule in the States - rule 144 or something like that. Basically, he could only sell to banks and financiers, etc - no Joe Public allowed, because of the special rule - i.e. they don't have to go through all the hoops and stringent checks by their Securities Board to float and therefore too risky for Joe Public. Failed miserably. No takers. None. Nada. Zilch. Whatever bleeding language you care to use. He was also warned by JP Morgan that if he attempted to buy Gillet's half, it would put the rest of his businesses at "serious risk". The bloke is in almost as much trouble as Gillett. He does have one advantage over Gillett, and that is, the stadium - from what I've read, his associates and possibly himself will stand to make money off the construction.
  11. The whole point being that Gillett is trying to sell and the Texan Twat is being obtuse. Gillett doesn't need to make the repayments - he's trying to offload his share and Texan Twat will realise that he can't afford to stand in his way. If Hicks tries to bring in another investor, Gillett can refuse and at that point, he may be forced to do as you suggest. As things stand, I can't see anyone being too keen to lend money to a new investor.
  12. IMO that is something that has to be approved by the board - the shareholders can't bypass the board who are there to make these kinds of decisions. If Gillett decides he wants to oppose the plan so that the assets remain within the club and he can get more for his share, all he needs is Parry and Moores to back his votes and Hicks is outnumbered.
  13. Rash, you're taking it as a personal affront with this Wenger discussion. Everyone here knows what a bloody good job Wenger has done. The ones that don't understand are the ones standing outside licking the fucking windows. The point everyone is making is that firstly, Wenger while having done a top job with development, isn't infalllible If he was, he'd be God. Secondly, Wenger didn't do it all in 5 minutes. You appreciate that, as does everyone else. All that's being said is that Rafa should be given the same opportunities. Yes, Wenger has been given time because of his sucesses, but he inhertied a strong, if aging squad. Rafa on the other hand inherited Traore, Biscan, Murphy, Diao, Diouf, a wantaway Owen and a wantay x2 Gerrard.
  14. Firstly, just because we haven't heard of them, doesn't mean they're unknowns. If they were unknowns, they would have cost 50p and a bag of chips. Anelka cost £500k as a teenager, Veira cost £3.5 from AC Milan, Henry was a club record signing of £11m, and Pires was £6m. That's a fuck load of money for players unknown outside of their own country. What track record? Rafa ahasn't been here long enough to have a bleeding track record in the youth setup. Heighway was the one responsible until 18 months ago. And look at how Rafa's turned the academy and ressies around since Heighway got the old heave-ho. The youth coming through in the next 2-3 years is going to really shine. Case in point, look at Damien Plesis; already played for Lyon's first team and bossing the ressies - possiibly ready next season to get the old place on the bench with the new 7 subs rule, and maybe the odd 10 mins here and there in the CC.
  15. Word last time was that they were lining up Kaka. Hence the rumour that we were quoted £45m as a starting price. Once others got wind of a possible sale, who knows where that price would have gone. Would you seriously object if they decided to bring in the likes of Kaka? I doubt Rafa would have a problem.
  16. We need two things in the final third: pace and finishing, prefereably in one package. For me, Eto'o has to be the one. Alternatively, if Eto'o isn't interested, I'd have Owen back for £9m. He doesn't have the all round ability of Eto'o so I'd want Tevez as well.
  17. Isn't 3 years worth of patience as much, if not more, than most people can put up with? As for Bascombe's stories, these have been doing the rounds for quite a while. People other than Bascombe have spoken about Rafa and Parry barely being on speaking terms with each other. Those working within the club all know about it, so I don't see how Bascome's publication of these stories is going to affect morale in the the club.
  18. So I think we're agreed, he's fat and he's shit.
  19. Well, he's playing in England now. We should use English pronounciations. Obviously.
  20. Nice article. Have you thought of writing professionally? The club were looking for a journo recently. :tease:
  21. Hindus don't really give a fuck for the most part. Hindus have generally integrated into "English society" whatever that is, but have kept their own sense of identity. Hindus generally wonder why other ethnic minorities/groups can't stop bleating about how shit life is, and simply get on with improving their lot.
  22. Can't remember the details of the new ruling, but Gallas could buy out his own contract. He turns 29 later this month, and according to the UEFA ruling, players aged 28 or over can buyout their own contract. He could then walk into a new club and get a big fat golden hello.
  23. Typical uninformed bollocks from the media.
  24. I use an HP iPaq hx4700. Comes with a brilliant 4" screen (the largest on any of the PDAs) and pretty good for writing on. It comes with a pocket pc versions of Word and Excel which I use for creating docs to transfer to my pc when I'm in the office. Additional stuff includes bluetooth, wireless networking as well as the ability to expand memory to 5gb - 1gb with an SD card and 4gb with a CF card. Definitely recommended.
