  1. Yep, i agree. It was reminiscent of so many wins from last season. Not brilliant but solid at the back, totally on top and in control. Good win
  2. I wonder if he'll use a laptop presentation to the FA to plead his innocence.
  3. Likewise most of the shite on here is not from real reds but is threads started from folk with about 10 posts. Also, feelings always run high after a dissapointing result im sure a look at redcafe,RI, etc would show me similar reactions. Prawn sandwich brigade to blame? I thought they'd been promoted to your hardcore these days and replaced with the Tampa bay T-bone steak brigade
  4. Real madrid was a shit circus newcastle is an even shitter circus Yep I could see that. Roeder will get the boot at some point. Sven might even be there to sign him
  5. Surely you're not suggesting he's apathetic towards england? He's like the fucking queen.
  6. If his heart isn't in it playing right midfield he should go, he's the captain of one of the best teams in europe and plays nearly every game. However, i think his heart is in it so that's not an issue for me. I don't think gerrard has the discipline to play in centre midfield for us these days, he's to forward thinking. Always trying to make things happen quickly, xabi and momo are much more cautious. The only way gerrard can play through the middle is in an attacking midfielder/2nd striker role like kaka. There's no point in doing that against chelsea because we know how narrow they defend,he is always likely to do more damage from wide. That mght be a better option in other games.
  7. Do you remember that lower league player that took exception to shearer jumping with his elbows up and just totally wiped him out as a long ball sailed harmlessly overhead? That's the kinda cup draw we want for drogba and robben. I think I'd prefer essien to get fucked over though he is a dirty bastard and i think he has no regard for his fellow players. I seen that futbol mundial program a while back on sky and they did a compilation of his time at lyon where he was called "the bison." There were about 3-4 tackles of the exact kind he put in on didi and that bolton player.
  8. I don't know what the deal is with the knee/cock jerkers. It's as if all our old school ex players have just discovered the internet. I think smith, st john, etc have been going to computing night classes.
  9. This extrapolation is absolute shite. Four games is nowhere near a large enough sample to draw a conclusion like that. Especially when you consider that 2 of the games were everton and chelsea away. If we extrapolate those games only we'd finish the season with 4 points. It might be a more appropriate thing to do when we are a quarter or half way through the season. Unfortunately we live in a blame culture, Benitez must have spent a fifth of what mourinho has, if we hit between 80-85 points and don't win the league, i struggle to see how it's benitez fault.
  10. I'm convinced that one day robben or drogba will injure themselves with their dramatic diving. I hope that day comes soon.
  11. I'm not sure that's wise. Given their ability we'd have to implement a squad rotation system between barton and nolan for the cleaning of momos boots! We all know those systems don't work, the manager has to know his best boot cleaner and start him every week. ;)
  12. I wouldn't read into arsenal winning too much, i'm still not convinced by them though they did play brilliantly and deserved to win today. The mancs looked wobbly defensively and were fortunate against watford and spurs. I think most people knew they would come a cropper sooner or later. Today, i think they were finally punished. In short, neither us or arsenal are out of the race. It seems whether or not you are in the race is determined by your result week by week. It's crazy talk to suggest we are out of it. If we win our next two games everyone will be saying we are back in it.
  13. The solution to beating a team of world class players in almost every position is to sign Kevin Nolan. Dear fucking god, im speechless.
  14. Andy Gray in istanbul at half-time "game over," enough said. He probably changed his mind when the mancs lost later on. Fanny.
  15. Thank god, a voice of reason. We didn't deserve that today. Disgraceful performance my arse, no-one in europe can go there and totally dominate them, they are very difficult to beat. We did all we could and were unlucky. We should've had a pen as well, ive never seen rafa so frustrated. We are not out of the title race but we really could do with 2 nice home wins in the up and coming games.
  16. At the end of the day, they should win with what they spend every year it is not completely damning on us if we lose against them. I think everyone is gagging for a win which I can understand cus that would really turn things around and beating them is boss but I think a draw would be an excellent result still. We have newcastle and spurs at home after this game if we win those which i think we will, we should be back in good shape i reckon. The mancs will have a wobble their defence is far from tight, we just need to make sure we do the beeswax.
  17. Actually, I have a feeling his dad might drive a fire engine... or at least did drive a fire engine ;)
  18. Right on snez. People will say if we played them with x lineup we'd have won but if we played them again with exactly the same lineup we'd probably win as well. Shit sometimes happens in the form of individual errors and at shef utd and everton it happened. As for psv, im happy with that result as are most level headed reds methinks.
  19. Yes but that's good because I think caution is the way to beat them. When you go at them is when you get done. Barca learned that lesson the hard way, they got mullered when they went straight at them 2 years back with belletti and gio goin forward but year after they played the much more defensive oleguer and were a bit more careful with their line whilst obviously still letting ronaldinho, etc have a fair bit of freedom. We will not trouble their defence and retain the ball as often as barca so we need to be even more careful i would say. Ultimately rafa is not over cautious he just isn't naive. You have to try and keep it tight, whenever they've gotten ahead we've gone more offensive to try and get back in it and generally we've conceded again, that's pretty telling about how to play them i think
  20. Eh? You mean is that supposed to be craigLfc? No, it's not but on reflection it's a pretty dumb username, that's the second time someone's asked. Also, back on topic was robbie earle doing anyone elses fucking head in at half-time with his "analysis" of reina? The funny thing was he did make a mistake later when he had that horrible looking fall over carra but that was never mentioned.
  21. I'm sure a similar thing happened last year when we played our first european game against betis away, i don't think we played gerrard and pongolle was on the wing. The pundits were full of it that night about the selection when pongolle scored in the 1st minute and we won you could almost hear them thinking "Shit!" Last night wasn't quite as good a result but lets be honest it was a case of job done, we have a good point and all our big players have got a decent break for sunday.
  22. haha so true. Don't forget the old classic... criticism of zonal marking. "Spaces don't score goals!" Easily countered with, why mark men it's not the man you're trying to stop going in the net, it's the ball.
  23. To be fair, the fucker has some eyes on him. No wonder he didn't argue the pen he had a clear view as im sure he can see through people.
  24. I don't think he's been that bad to be honest, he did say we had a squad which looked like possible champions.
