  1. Vital we get at least 4 points out of those 2 league fixtures, would accept a draw at Goodison if it meant we would win at Chelsea* Obviously, 6 out of 6 would be very nice indeed too. *before I get shouted down, I know Everton should be put in their place, but looking at the bigger picture yada yada yada
  2. I think it was Boavista. Owen curler if I recall.
  3. I work near St. Nicholas Church just off Water Street and every morning I have to run the gauntlet as there are a group of smackheads/pissheads who sit off in the church gardens and hassle everyone for a spare ciggie, quid etc. They do this whilst not even attempting to hide their cider and Kestrel super. The twats got legged by the security at the Tour of Britain thing last week as one of them decided to start throwing bottles. One of them got arrested and next morning, one of the girls in our office stood in human shite, which one of them had kindly left right outside our office. Nice.
  4. Manc is but no yank is. Hmm a quiz question......
  5. In the context of that song it's fine as it's part of the lyrics, but when I hear the Soccer AM style chanting it really pisses me off.
  6. I'm sure I heard an 'Easy' shout in there..... Good video though.
  7. Hate it. It's a small insurance firm in town. Mostly sales but I do a bit of everything from the post to negotiating claims and stuff. Handed in my notice a few months back as I was so pissed off with the way things were going. Silly thing to do as we were just on the verge of getting a mortgage and I had nothing lined up. So, I retracted it. Luckily, my boss is sound and more of a friend than a boss (which is part of the problem) and said he understood things weren't great at the moment so just bide my time. The office is alright, most of the people are sound and I can switch off at 5pm and whatever has gone on in the day I leave at work. But, it's the old familiarity problem. I feel semi-institutionalised in this current role, so much so that it's a struggle to make it sound exciting on my CV.
  8. Yeah, what I meant was that at least the characters would be from that series, none of the daft headmaster powerchanging pretender type rubbish that, for me, really spoilt the idea behind Transformers. I reckon it'd work best if they set it in the 1980s, and then wouldn't have to pander to the look of modern day vehicles. Apparently they couldn't get their head a 40 foot robot transforming into a pistol or a tape player. Fuck's sake, some of the bollocks that's out these days, and they reckon audiences wouldn't be able to comprehend something that was able to shrink in size? I didn't know Michael Bay's name would be used as part of the title. That disturbs me.
  9. Ulysses 31 was another that sticks in my mind. For any Transfomers lovers, the live action film is due out next April and Spielberg is the executive producer. Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) and Frank Weller (Megatron) are confirmed as voice parts and it is supposed to be faithful to the Generation 1 series.
  10. Hope you're not referring to my bird, as we were both there this morning! Had an appointment at the bank and even by 10am there were loads of scumbag scalls looking at you like you're a piece of shit, purely because you don't look like they do. Know what you mean though, it's like the land that time forgot. Whenever I go there, even on a half hour trip like today, I end up getting really pissed off with the place.
  11. :D That made me spit my Kitkat all over my screen! Good stuff.
  12. Friday mentalism at it's best. Captain says what's funny and what's not. That is the law. I would also do Lisa Tarbuck, but not Avid Merrion.
  13. Saw that on the cover of the Mirror this morning. They do like to stir up controversy don't they? Still, it's not all that different from the numerous films, TV series etc that have had fictional representations of the same thing, but obviously using computer graphics to show GWB getting wasted gives it a much higher probability of being a ratings winner. Which is what it's all about really.
  14. One of Chelsea's weaknesses last season was the lack of a specialist left back. You can argue that Gallas was more than adequate, but Del Horno didn't really do much to impress. That weakness hs now been eradicated and their defence and attack have just improved by some margin. Still, it will make victory all the sweeter.
  15. I live in Waterloo, near the beach and about a 5 minute walk from the spaceship (local baths) that you see when coming in on the ferry. It's right on the border with Blundellsands, and the particular part I live in has been renamed Brighton-le-Sands (though whenever someone says 'where do you live?' I always say Waterloo). So in other words, it could be classed as a 'posh' area. I'm from Seaforth though which is anything but! The area I live is pretty decent, but as it is so close to the beach, during the July heatwave there were hoardes of teenagers all getting pissed, smoking weed and generally having a good time. They were a bit rowdy but nothing too bad. The little old dears in the street though were tut-tutting at them but compared to some areas' kids they weren't that bad. The kids are a bit mouthy but they're all wannabe hard-men who are shit scared when they're on their own. There are definitely a few cons-made-good in the area. One bloke in the next road had his house raided and the bizzies found several weapons, including an Israeli Steyr rifle, which by all accounts, is not the most common weapon of choice for the criminal community. I lived on one of the roughest estates in Nottingham during uni, with drug dealers either side of where we lived. Believe it or not, that was actually a good thing as one of them looked out for us while we were there and made sure our flat was not broken into. He instantly 'respected' us as we were from Liverpool, as he was a Red and his mum was from there. Shame when the bizzies raided his flat at 6am and he got carted away. Sorry, went off on a bit of a life story effort there, but trying to waste time in work!
  16. Still got that too, but it is well and truly goosed.
  17. My PS2 is on its way out, the fan makes an incredible racket now and the controller wires are all fucked as well. It has served me well though. Although there is no chance of being able to afford a PS3, at least until it is reduced in price to something sensible. I've still got my Mega Drive and there are some classics on that; even with today's technological advances, the gameplay on some of those MD games is second to none.
  18. Great stuff Momo, have only seen series 1 and 2 so sorted for Bank Holiday viewing now!
  19. Have to agree there. I tried one last night and it was no different to most other freely available ciders. Merrydown was my cider of choice back in my formative alcohol-consuming years, purely because my dad used to work at Higson's (now Cain's) at got a free allowance per month.
  20. Ronaldo reviews Old Trafford's new dildo-based undersoil heating system.
  21. No, no, no! I was merely referring to how I had blanked Will Warmer's ramblings from my memory. Damn, you made me remember now! I'll go and reboot myself.
  22. Kick him in the plums and tell him that Kit was a better actor than he was. In fact, Pamela Anderson's left implant carried more gravitas. Quite literally. As 'Baywatch' was all about acting quality wasn't it?
  23. Don't know what you're on about.
