1. I'll agree if you're saying all around, but from the little I seen of Darby, he looks to be a very good defender, with good positional sense, something I feel Insua needs a lot of work on.
2. Why did you have to ask that question? Please god, don't let it happen again.
3. I want the league. I don't expect it, it just doesn't feel right, but I fucking want it. If Rafa gets one more top quality signing in for attack, Masch and Alonso stay, and we have some luck with injuries, then he needs to bring home the league, or we need to start thinking about replacing him. He's had enough time to put together a winning squad, and with one addition, I think we will win it, I don't care who signs for everyone else.
4. That's the crux for me, you put a young healthy Fowler in this team...Think about it, he'd probably set a single season goals record. I think Fowler's passing is very under rated as well.
5. Give it up Brownie, this thread may never get back on track.
6. Give Darby a chance. He's better than Insua defensively. If it doesn't work after 6 months, get someone in January and send Darby on loan.
7. It won't be long before someone from the UAE looks at Valencia decides that there is a profit to be made there, and then the pendulum will start to swing.
8. Atletico is the working class team in Madrid is it not? I imagine his parents raised him to appreciate success, but appreciate happiness more. It seems he's happy here. Thank god the man had the parents he had.
9. Agree with that bit, though I would say two years might be better. I think you'd find it difficult to get highly qualified personnel to move if they're only being guaranteed a job for one year. I really makes you wish that Kenny was heavily involved, at the academy level. You know he's going nowhere, and even if most of the current staff left, he could keep things ticking over.
10. He's referring to the end of the Mayan calendar, and the somewhat popular superstition that the Mayans predicted the end of Earth. I believe Nostradamus said something about December 2012, and the end times as well. Someone rep Philly for me.
11. I've got a friend who follows them down here.
12. Also agree with everything but the bold bit. Reason being, anything happens to them in Liverpool, that really will be the end of our club. Who's going to want to own a club that they'll have to fear for their safety if the make an unpopular decision? No one. I realize that to us, a new owner would have to do an awful lot wrong to get that kind of reaction, but there are plenty in the press that would love to have the following headline. "American Owners Looking to Sell as Liverpool Supporters Threaten Violence" There will be dozens of headlines on every major publication like that and some a whole lot worse. Let's hope that we can put enough pressure on them both to sell, then they both go broke and have to live like the rest of us.
13. Babel's control is crap, if he had close control, we wouldn't be looking for a player for the left. Riera does not have pace, he's probably not much quicker that Silva, if at all. N'gog is a striker and 19. El Zhar is not fast, he's quick in the first couple of yards, and has tons of determination and aggression, but that's not what people are looking for.
14. That's pretty false, I've participated in Several anti-war protest here in Austin. Most start on the State Capitols grounds, work their way down the main thoroughfare and end up and the cities town hall. I've not once seen or heard police act poorly, nor read press about it. There's a ton of red tape you got to go through in getting permits, and informing local officials what's going on. But as long as you protest peacefully, you can get your message across without too much trouble.
15. If he goes, at least he gave us this peach.
16. The thing that impresses me most is how amazing a header of the ball he is. He doesn't win many in the middle of the park, but you put a ball on his in the box, and you can guarantee he'll put it in the only place that no one can get to. So many of his headers are just perfect.
17. Abraham Lincoln - Greatest President who carried the greatest burden. MLK - I doubt I need to expand, but any generation could use a man of his character and integrity. Audrey Hepburn - Class the likes of which the screen has not seen since.
18. I thought I heard the commentators say only Roger Hunt had done it in less games for us. Don't know if that's right, but I think that's what I heard.
19. Think he means Gary Cahill from Bolton? I was confused by that as well.
20. I think his point is that 45 mil is not what we spent on the 5 of them. it was 38mil at most.
