  1. We should have definitely kept Gini just so he could have played on Sunday. Well worth the 15 million a year in wages.
  2. Everyone keeps talking about keeping Gini, like we were ever going to pay him anywhere near the 300k he's on now. He wanted to leave. Get over yourselves.
  3. It's a tactic for the CL. Worked for Chelsea last season.
  4. Sure thing, sweetie. Hope you can get past this trauma soon.
  5. A bunch of bad bellends on this thread
  6. Guardiola can go fuck himself, the over dramatic, bald fucking weirdo
  7. Suarez was the best player on the planet for 3 years, while Ronaldo and Messi were in their peak. I love Mo, but it's Suarez for me.
  8. If Jones is dropped for Keita, I'm fucking this game off
  9. Ah yeah. That old chestnut.
  10. Ok, that's half a game, but I'll give you that. Any other examples?
  11. Gini Wijnaldum never managed a single performance like that in his 5 years here, and yet we have the same people constantly wanking over him now saying Jones did "alright".
  12. All fair points. Take Suarez out though, and barring an unlikely replacement of the same quality, we're struggling to finish in the top 4
  13. Sancho is nowhere near "a great player" Generic definition or any definition
  14. I've got 2 ideas for you 1- Don't watch the games 2- Don't worry about the things out of your control I'd strongly advise option 2 Peace & Love
  15. Indeed. Enjoying the season, thus far?
  16. I CAN'T BELIEVE WE DIDN'T BUY ANY MIDFIELDERS THIS SUMMER!!!!
  17. Owen's entire point was in a one off season. Suarez also has longevity if you look at his individual career. He spearheaded titles for Ajax, Barca and now Atletico. He won something with Uruguay too, didn't he? Longevity for Liverpool is irrelevant to the discussion of who would you take now, because Suarez left us to win stuff. Like Salah would have done had we not won stuff. In conclusion, I'd like them both here now, with a prime John Barnes on the left.
  18. I agree with all that. Like with all these things, I think the criteria (how to decide) is a better discussion that the manager (the who). Is it about influence, consistency, trophies, innovation...? And which of those criteria holds more water? Thanks for engaging
  19. I was definitely joking about Zidane. But I think picking Sacchi over Busby, Stein or even Feguson is misguided. I also think if Sacchi's in the reckoning, you could argue Guardiola, Mourinho or even Clough. All hugely influential, while winning more titles. Thoughts?
  20. I'd didn't say he was a better manager. I said he has a better record. There are a few who are clearly better managers than Ariggo Sacchi though
  21. Great away European performance. We made them look bad, but of course the narrative will be that they were appalling. I suppose there's no argument on their keeper though. 'Kinell. Total dominance, particularly from a midfield missing 2 potential starters. They pressed the fuck out of them so much so that they literally has no options but to go long. And Matip and VVD mopped it all up superbly. Matip was outstanding today. I saw Grujic coming on at half time but I can't confirm whether he did actually come on. If anyone was ever in doubt about Curtis Jones, this game must have surely removed that doubt now. What a player he's going to be. As mentioned in earlier posts, a good referee really helps us, and it's what I expect in the CL. It really changes the dynamic when fouls are given as fouls, irrespective of the colour of your shirt. I thought Salah (who played well) was the weakest of the front 3 tonight. Jota played a good game, and I thought Mane was very effective after a ropey first 10 minutes. Robbo looked back to his best too, fair play to him. A word on Klopp, who got it wrong on Saturday with the subs. He confirmed he kept the same team so they could sort themselves out "on the pitch". Top management, that. And a final word on how lucky we are to have James Milner in this squad. As a Bosman, he has to go down as one of our best every signings.
