  1. Origi won't go for less than £40 mil and I wouldn't be surprised if there is another 10 mil added to that. Even ignoring Edwards' ability to recoup far higher valuations on our players, he's young, on a long term deal, and highly rated on the continent as well as by several Premier league clubs. It's the Liverpool fans that (deep down} know he's not all that... although something tells me for the right team in the #9, he'd have a Southampton Ings style impact.
  2. Thanks for sharing. The English fella in the pub came across as a bit of a tit, though.
  3. The only thing Bobby lacks is that killer pace. With a bit more pace and the same work ethic, he gets 30 goals a season.
  4. Very good half. Totally I'm control. A Klopp call at half time should give the the boost they need.
  5. Perhaps I should have made it clearer that I was referring to this summer.
  6. All fair points. However, I was referring to the type of player, not actually bringing in new players. All good problems, mind.
  7. On another note, I don't get this Salah or Mane is off rhetoric. Never going to happen.
  8. I'm not so sure, you know. The only way I see it happening is if we agree a season long loan deal for him. There's no way he'll accept being in the U23s again, as he's far too good. As for Coutinho, why would we need to replace him? For the extra 2 points we dropped this season?! Needing to "replace" a player implies that we are less of a team without him. Coutinho's sale had the exact opposite effect. Also, with a new left back, Milner will have more time in midfield to add to Hendo, Gini, Ox, Keita, and Fabinho. Far too many numbers to be spunking a load of cash on another. Something has to to give.
  9. In terms of impact, I have to say that every one of Mane, Salah, Robertson, Virgil, Alisson, and Fabinho took us up a level and probably in that order. Amazing signings.
  10. There's no way we sign a midfielder with Curtis Jones now ready.
  11. Firstly, I said maybe, and secondly from who I have watched enough of, Mbappe and Hazard would be in the conversation and I'd love to know what Klopp would do with Sane, who is as good as anything I've seen live at Anfield. Mainly though, I'd agree that as a front 3, there is no touching them right now, and any changes to the dynamics would probably be a downgrade. However, if 3 years ago you told me that, I'd have told you to get your head examined.
  12. In his first season he did very little tracking back, and Mane had to compensate. We are a much better outfit now, and there are maybe 2 or 3 players in his age group, in the world of football, that would be an upgrade.
  13. From the Beeb: Liverpool have gone 41 Premier League games without defeat (W36 D5) - the third longest such run in English top-flight history behind Arsenal (49 in Oct 2004) and Nottingham Forest (42 in Nov 1978). Liverpool have won their last 15 Premier League games - only the fourth occasion of a team winning 15+ consecutive English top-flight games (Manchester City 18 in December 2017, Liverpool 17 in October 2019 and City 15 in August 2019). Liverpool have won 70 points from just 24 games in the Premier League this season - the quickest any English top-flight side has ever reached this total. Jurgen Klopp registered his 150th victory as Liverpool manager in all competitions (W150 D58 L39).
  14. Anyone who thinks this has anything to do with the FA Cup has completely missed the point. Firstly, there is no guarantee that we win it, even if we focused all our efforts (which is never going to happen). Secondly, we know we can win the two big ones because of what happened last season. Thirdly, and most importantly, Klopp is trying to make a fucking point here, and he's getting his message across loud and clear. The fact is, this is the only real opportunity he has to do so, seeing as the Villa game made fuck all difference. He's been banging on about this for a number of years, and realised playing a second string and getting knocked out 3rd or 4th round is par for the course. The reason he's so popular with his players is because he stands up for them and is willing to go the extra mile for them. Just like they do in return for him.
  15. Good post, dockers strike. If we agree that the reason the squad generally performs is because of the intensity of training, then that's why he wants everyone to have a rest. And we're not talking about what a manager thinks and whether he's right or wrong, we're taking about a man who has practically won every game this season while smashing every record going. If he wants a rest for everyone and himself, give him the rest he wants. FSG are the only ones in a position to dispute that.
  16. If Lallana is not injured, he's probably off on deadline day.
  17. I think most of our ex players are brutally honest, actually. It's only Murphy that seems to pick and choose his principles based on who's sitting next to him. These are men who have generally had long term success in the game, in no small part due to their personalities, and probably feel they have the right to make whatever point they feel like making. I've seen Nicol say plenty of positive things about us.
  18. Maybe you're right, but from what I've seen of him, i think he might be a disaster there on his own. He looked decent v Everton because Lallana was next to him doing all the Klopp stuff.
  19. Another cunt of a result was the draw after Riise's oggy in the Kop end versus Chelsea in the CL. That was a real sickener.
  20. Lots off great shouts here, but I honestly think the worst I felt was after United won the treble with the last kick of the season. I know it wasn't a Liverpool defeat as such, but I was physically sick for days after that, and our circumstances at the time weren't exactly helping matters.
  21. Oh, and Karel Poborksy too for that matter. Couldn't believe we had to settle for Berger.
