I interpreted the above as, leather elbow-patch meaning being old-ish, similar to smoking pipe, slippers rocking chair etc. if not then the entire thing goes out the window... However if true, then it still stands, you're too old, not being able to remember one post from the next, Clicky //Stands back from the GF for a moment and ponders whether to post it, then decides, since you're 4 year my senior, then the old fart bashing can stand. And if the above assumption isn't correct, then English isn't my first language, so how should I be able to get the finer details etc...
  6. How is he doing now, RVDV, compared to when he was at Ajax, because he was seen as many, myself included, as a very big talent. Is he doing it for them or?

And I was the one being accused of being sensitive?
  8. A couple of points on the above, which I mostly agree with 1) Pacey strikers. You are correct that we don't need pacey strikers, since we play so high up the pitch, putting so much pressure on our opponents, the opportunities we're getting for a fast counter attack is limited, so a Cisse as 1 of our 2 out-and-out strikers isn't an option, because besides pace and a har shot, he offers little else. He doesn't have the ability of Crouch/Moro of holding the ball, getting our midfielders into play, and he doesn't have the football brain of Fowler, the poaching ability(I'm only focusing on our 4 forwards here, since we can't change the forward line until the summer, so for the purpose of this thread, it is pointless, to speculate on who else could/should do the job). So for me, the best forward line we can have is Crouch/Moro as the holding striker, header of the ball and Fowler as the poacher, the football brain, doing the smart runs in behind the defence in the limited spaces that exist. 2) Pacey wingers. Here I mostly agree, I think we're lacking in this department, both on the right and the left side. We need either pacey wingers, skilled wingers or preferably players that posses both. My reason for saying this, is we don't get enough crosses in from behind the backs. Our wingers need to be able to get down to the goal line and get quality crosses in, which will then favour the striker, whereas crosses from our backs, unless delivered from the goal line position, or atleast behind the back four, always will favour the defenders. This is one of the major reasons imo, we're not getting so many goals on headers. Our most attacking/best header of a ball is Garcia, which is probably due to the lack of height. Both Garcia and Kewell is players, which like to go inside, to do a 1/2, or get a shot on target, we need real wingers, again especially due to the way we play, because we're overcrowding the 10 - 20 meters outside the box, with our own players, and with defenders, if our wingers decide to go into the field, instead of staying out wide. If Cisse could get his crosses together, i.e. more that 1 in 5 could be delivered into a dangerous cross, he could very well do a job for us here, especially because of his pace and ability to get behind the defence. 3) On the speed of our attacking play and getting the ball into the box, when we have 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 situation, see above, this is mainly down to our playing so high up the pitch, our pressure on the opponents. When you have 60 - 65 - 70 percent of possesion, it is very hard to get into these kind of situations, so we have to use other means to open up a defence. Above I've outlined 1 of 2 possible ways of doing this, the other is having a player like Kaka, Aimar etc. playing just behind the front 2, or as a second deeper striker, which can play play these cutting passes deep into the defence for a Shevchenko, Eto, Villa etc. Now if we look at this second option with what we have of players available to us, then the striker needs to be Fowler, which is the only one which possess the predator instinct of a Sheva, Eto or Villa etc. As for the Aimar, Kaka role, we have 3 people that can do that job, Gerrard, Kewell and Garcia, and my preferred choice if all 3 is on top form would be Garcia. Just to finish this off, looking at our attack, we're very much alike to Arsenal this season, the inability to open a defence, except they have 1 player, perhaps 2 in their forward line, which can really score goals, i.e. Henry and Van Persie. Arsenal has had the same problems as us this year, their wingers, Ljungberg and Reyes/Pires has been below par/injured for much of this season, so the amount of quality crosses they have gotten into the box, has been much less than last season. Which is also one reason you see Henry getting further back, to get more on the ball, and try to make something sublime. However just as Arsenal has been sniffed out by their opponents, LFC is doing much of the same, boxing 11 players in and around the box, and we have big problems opening them up. Just my 2¢, or considering the lenghty post above, I'll make that 3¢.
  9. Barca has one of the best Handball teams in the world as well, a huge swimming complex, tennis courts. If you're down there, Nou Camp is well worth a visit, as we all probably know, but if you get the chance to do a tour of the entire sports complex, it is well worth a visit.
  10. We'll need more info, whick kind of bear, polar, grizzly, koala (even though it isn't a bear, but a arboreal), Panda, and what kind of monkey, King Kong (Would he need a knife? couldn't he just use the eiffel tower or something similar), Orangutang, chimp, spider monkey etc...Questions needs to be asked...
  11. same as the ones using this crap, which was advertised just before the Tottenham - Blackburn game, what has the world come to to.... clicky
  12. Now, ofcourse it would be just a little more cool, if not anything could be slotted in, so http://dt.youaremighty.com/ works, as do http://djlj.youaremighty.com/ as do http://hermes.youaremighty.com/ as do http://paul.youaremighty.com/ just to take the ones which has written in this thread...
  13. Nothing to do with that, may be though I touched a nerve, times moved on, get used to it ;-) Btw, if of any interest, I also have a lot of Vinyls and CDs stacked up, most of them also backed up to make sure those rarities from the 70' and 80's doesn't get destroyed in a fire or what not. Edit: Been using 2 hrs today to connect and transfer songs to a Sony Bean. Arggghhhhh, what a piece of crap, reencoding, only able to add using their s/w which is almost as intuitive to use as Windows. Never again....
  14. On the Irish PL show last night, they we're saying the English media was going to lay into him now, because what he did to Robson, simply because he is an English manager, his previous records on the national team etc. Have to agree here, the English media wouldn't have made such a big fuss today, if he had done it to Benitez or Wenger or anyother foreign manager. Unfortunately that is the agenda of the fleet street...
  15. Stereotyping someone there are we? Just because times have moved on, doesn't mean we "MP3 types" didn't live before, where all you could get was either vinyls or later CDs. Just because you have something as MP3, or one of the other hundreds of compression formats, doesn't mean that you don't have the original CD or vinyl. I couldn't care less whether I have something to show for it, I just want to listenn and enjoy the music. If it makes you feel better to have something to show for it, whether it be a big room or thousand of vinyls, then good for you.. *Disclaimer, sarcasm may have been used in the above*
  16. Got a b/w tv aswell?
  17. If its anything to you, I've played on a professional contract for 3 years, until an injury put an end to me playing football. But what has that got to do with anything? Players do get unhappy, correct, and you also say, just after, deal with it, which is also correct, you have to deal with it. Players who isn't happy has to be dealt with. They have to be talked to anf=d asked what is wrong, how it can be rectified, give them an explanation on the things they question etc. Who has said anything about babysitting a superstar? Any club who wants to be successful, has to have a full squad of players, who are ready to do the job, and you don't have that when one or more of your players are unhappy. Simple as...
  18. oh dear :no We as LFC supporters should care if someone at our club isn't happy, so should Rafa and staff and the management... Garcia can be very frustrating to watch at times, but going from that to saying he should learn how to control and pass a ball...
  19. Then why do you blow it up like that? "His whole body language said he knows something" then the next one is "I don't think Ballague was 100% certain..." So omit the parts in favour of Rafa staying, then judging Ballague on his body language, then withdrawing it in the next post as not certain... :no
  20. If you heard that, then you heard the rest of it aswell, why omit that? BTW, that was the part where he said that it was the LFC job not being finished that held him back, that he couldn't see him going back now, but if he had been at LFC for 5 years, then he might go etc. Why the f*** did it need to be blown up like that?
  21. No charges to be taken against Finnanoffal
