Raheem was not only onside there (at 2.41), he was a yard or more onside. -
Some streams for tonight's match (27 July)
tomyam scouse replied to gkmacca's topic in FF - Football Forum
If any kind soul could post streams for the City game, I'd be grateful. It starts at 6 a.m. over here, and I won't be in much of a state for searching the web... -
Is that a French tongue twister?

We're being linked to Jay Rodriguez again. Fingers crossed, we could soon have a third of the team that finished 7th playing for us.

I only saw the second half (6 a.m. here), but Allen looked awful - tried to outrun one of their defenders, and was far too slow. Then miscued a ball right in front of our penalty box, teeing it up for one of their players. The rest of the time, just generally nondescript. Did I miss anything from him in the 1st half?

We really are going all-in on this strategy, aren't we? If it comes off, it will be an act of insane genius. Next season promises to be either the most fascinating Liverpool season in years. Or the most tedious,

Thanks for that, gkmacca -
It means 'Russian billionaires who live or own assets in London could be “at risk” of sanctions, unless they have a lot of money.'

Interesting use of the word 'only'.

Which signing is your biggest letdown
tomyam scouse replied to Bjornebye's topic in FF - Football Forum
Gonzales was a strange one. He was refused a work permit, on the grounds that he wasn't of sufficiently outstanding quality. This place went nuts with people ranting about non-football-experts overriding the judgement of our professional scouts. Then he got the WP, and it turned out that he wasn't of sufficiently outstanding quality. -
United finished above everyone, the year before.

Liverpool Vs AS Roma - Fenway Park

And conversely, the times when we've lost or drawn our games in the pre-season, we've also started the real season badly. I understand the theoretical case for saying these games don't matter, but empirically they do seem to, for whatever reason. -
OK., Leaving out the fairly obvious dogs, and only considering signings that have either been viewed as definite successes, or at least jury-still-out, we could apply the old test: how many of these would get a game with our CL-places rivals? Sturridge Coutinho Mignolet Sakho Allen Lambert Lallana Can Markovic

I'm not sure why that article would make anyone want to shut up. What would you expect Rodgers to say? Borini, Adam and Aspas were all bought after "diligent scouting" because they could "make a big contribution". Luckily, we already had Suarez, so their contribution wasn't fatal. Unless this really is the calm before the storm, I'm having problems imagining the teams we're going to be putting out in the CL next season, or against the likes of City.

Thanks for the streams

It's more than that. It's an 'absorption wall' in statistical terms - once you hit the wall, it automatically becomes almost impossible to recover (why casinos always win, given enough time). Us having Suarez, and Man U having Moyes was an almost miraculous bit of timing. If we drop outside the top 4 again, it might be a much longer wait...

Going 3 up isn't necessarily untouchable, as the Crystal Palace game taught me. It was the middle of the night here, and I went to bed with 15 minutes to go. Woke up and went to the computer to check if we'd increased our margin, and ....

Genuine question: which words in the above article would require the use of a thesaurus? -

The main thing it brought home to me is how MANY player we have - especially as so few of last night's team got much playing time last season, and some of them I'd forgotten existed. What do they all do? -
'City, Chelsea, United and it seems now Arsenal' ... But that's the problem, is it not? In the world of Champ's League, you pretty HAVE to finish top four, or have the clear prospect of doing so next time.

Story so far. Us: Lambert, Lallana, Can, Markovic, Ben Davies? Chelsea: Costa, Fábregas, Luís, Courtois, Tiago? I dunno...

Thanks. I get all the regular games via satellite here, so I don't normally need to use streams. -

Anyone know of a live stream for this, for those of us outside the UK? -

I’ve said this to the young players "people are excited about you because you haven’t had a chance to fail on the big stage’.
