  1. Recently got back from Way Out West in Gothenburg. Headliners were Prince (amazing show) and Kanye West (not so amazing, in fact utter shite) Also saw Pulp, Noah & The Whale, Janelle Monae, The Hives, and Robyn who to my surprise was fantastic. Apart from the expensive beer, it was a fantastic weekend in a fantastic location, and I hope to go back next year. The only gig I have tickets for coming up is the Darkness which should be fun.
  2. All his stuff is well worth a listen, but the later albums are in my opinion stronger. If you liked Cole's Corner, Lady's Bridge is a similar type of album, albeit not quite as amazing. Lowedges is worth a listen as well. First 4 or 5 songs on it are as strong as any start to an album I can think of. And don't forget the most recent one, Truelove's Gutter, which is apparently the album he has always wanted to make, with less songs, but much longer individually. Remorse Code is perhaps my favourite off it. Congratulations on finding Mr Hawley. He will make your life richer!
  3. Step forward for rep whoever made that tag, made me chuckle!
  4. I'm 30, today would have been my 5th wedding anniversary, except for the fact I got my decree absolute through 2 days ago. So, having been married, I can confirm I won't bother again. I'm hopeful of finding another serious relationship, but really, what is a piece of paper to confirm whether I'm committed or not? It's not really surprising given my situation that I fail to see the necessity in marriage anymore, and maybe I'll be different if it's a big deal to a future Mrs Stig Inge, but I doubt it. As for kids, well, right now I have no paternal instincts at all, I have 2 lovely nephews and that does me fine. But again, never say never. Kids are more likely than a 2nd marriage, but neither are anywhere near the top of my 'to do' list.
  5. Noah and the Whale - The First Days of Spring This album came out last year when I was in the midst of a huge depression as my marriage had failed. It seemed to be about me, personally, and soundtracked my spiral downwards as I lost weight and was throwing up constantly due to the depression. In some bizarre way I even revelled in the misery. Eventually I had to make the conscious decision to snap out of it as I was getting seriously ill. My divorce has just come through this week, I'm now seeing someone else and feel so much better, thankfully. But I can't listen to the album anymore, as I can almost feel the sickness creeping back if I do. Shame, as it's a brilliant record.
  6. As a recommendation of someone people may not have head - try Marina and the Diamonds. Can't link any songs as my work computer is crap but visit youtube and have a look. "official" songs are Obsessions and I Am Not A Robot but there's plenty of other stuff as well. And I love her
  7. Less of the pessimism people. Our opening games, while perhaps not piss easy are all winnable. Fair enough I can't see mancs dropping points to brum but burnley away, with them being new to the prem, local rivals to the mancs, point to prove, before they realise they are shit and are getting twatted everywhere, they can get something from the mancs in that game. Worse time to play the newly promoted teams is at the very start of the season, as they have confidence.
  8. I too was going in about 10 to 3, supposed to be in gate 2 but they had shut it for some reason so was queueing up for gate 3. was pretty crowded and the fella in front of me got to the gate, tried to walk through without a ticket. The ticket inspector shouted "No ticket! No ticket!" in his charming Welsh accent and the police just grabbed the fella and led him away. This fellas son was behind me and scarpered damn quick once his old fella got nicked.
  9. Christina Milian - Dip It Low. I should hate it (I do most RnB shite) but I find I quite like it. This may have something to do with the video however.
  10. Started calling at 8.45am yesterday, got through at about 9.30am and got a £25 ticket (plus another fiver for booking fees and delivery) but all in all it seemed fine. I never go down the ground to queue up because I've always got through on the phone lines easy enough.
  11. There was a big fuck off American 4WD (about twice as wide as the UK 4WD's) parked in the Centenary car park before the match. California plates. Tasty blonde got out with a middle aged fella who had white hair and goatee beard. I have no idea if this is anything to do with Kraft but thought I would share it with you anyway. If it was to do with Kraft, quite why he would bring his car over from the USA though I don't know.

  14. Also Robbie Fowlers first goal against Villa at Anfield in 96 deserves a mention! The one where he backheeled it through Staunton's legs, ran on to it and even though he was through one on one with the keeper he hit it from 30 yards for the hell of it? Yes indeed, what a goal. I remember as he ran towards the goal, I was behind in the Kop and he was pissing himself laughing as he scored! God is a legend.
  15. Anyone know what time in this country our games will kick off? The usual time difference is Tokyo being about 9 hours ahead I think. Does anyone know if the clocks changing has altered this at all? And finally anyone know what if any TV channel will be showing the games? Unfortunately I can't make it out to Japan myself.
  16. The Cheese Shop "Bring forth la fromage de la belle France!" "It's a bit runny...." "I don't care how fucking runny it is" PS has anyone ever seen Venezuelan Beaver Cheese for sale anywhere?
  17. I was pissed off when I bought my Chelsea tix last thursday. I got through on the phone at 11am and someone had bought my ST seat! Now I am displaced from my usual seat.
  18. I paid £450 for the flight to Istanbul and it was so delayed I was taken straight to the stadium with no time in Taksim Square. I didn't get a beer until 45 minutes before kick off (but then had 45 minutes of frantic drinking!) when mates turned up with a crate of Efes. Not once did I complain. Though if we hadn't won it may have been different! But then for the Bitters, it's more about the trip than the game I expect, after all they have no chance of winning!! Still I enjoy every misfortunte that befalls them. Although I expect the finger of blame for the air traffic control problems will somehow be pointed at LFC!
  19. Not to mention the uber-cool dance moves......
  20. Those kids could hit the high notes though..... the harmonious sharing of the lyrics........
  21. In a desperate bid to claw back some credebility, I hasten to add that I did not pay for said download.
  22. I have an S Club 7 album. And I downloaded an S Club Juniors song. On a different note, I had the picture disc for Presidents of the USA - peaches.
  23. Have you read the full article as printed in The Mirror? He's a cock. "Even when they scored early through Luis Garcia - and now the computer simulation shows it wasn't a goal I wish we'd kicked up more fuss about it - there was plenty of time" "for the second year in succession we had lost a CL semi we were supposed to win" "once we had ebaten Barcelona we thought our name was on the trophy...... Beating Bayern was tough too. We thought we'd done the hard work but blew it against a side we should have beaten." Well fuck you titwank, you didn't blow it, we beat you by being a better team over 2 legs (not admittedly over the whole season) and then we won the cup for a 5th time. And it was great.
  24. Just got the Magic Numbers album and I love it. Great album for the summer!
