  1. Harsh on Mignolet. He didn't spill the ball, he made a very good fingertip save. Too bad none of his teammates were alert enough to clear it away afterwards. Generous on Lovren, Enrique, Sterling and Balotelli who all made a lot more mistakes than Simon did. All, imho.
  2. Highligts from last season fixture to pass the time... http://hoofoot.com/?match=Liverpool_FC_4_-_0_Everton_2014_01_28
  3. Maybe it's both. I've not heard of the wage demands being a problem (before finding the article below), but then again there's quite a lot of transfer gossip I don't read. A quick search brought up this: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11701/9397912/transfer-news-stoke-manager-mark-hughes-still-wants-to-sign-oussama-assaidi-from-liverpool
  4. The problem isn't Assaidi (not yet anyway). The clubs can't agree on a fee.
  5. They never started (at least not as long as it's been named "Premier League"). Edit, just checked, the last season of the old 1st division all games kicked off on the same date (most probably also the same time of day) so the answer to your question would be 17th of August 1991.
  6. These stats are bullshit, because as we all know: * Agger costs us too many goals * Sakho hasn't made any mistakes that directly has lead to a goal
  7. Agreed. That's one of the very few, if not the only game I can remember thinking I wouldn't mind if we lost. Big difference though, that we didn't have anything riding on the game. Big difference.
  8. My guess: Szczesny Coleman Ivanovic Skrtel Kompany Toure Hazard Gerrard Silva Suarez Sturridge
  9. Our defensive record with Agger starting is a lot better than with Sakho. There's a lot more to defending that stat's can tell (the stat for goals conceded is the main one I'd look at). Sakho is a great character, and he's improved very much already in his short time here. Let's hope it continues. However, for now, the defence, in my opinion, is less assured with him than Agger.
  10. I don't think the choice between Agger and Sakho is as obvious as it appears in this thread. We've hardly kept a clean sheet with Sakho starting (2 clean sheets from 13 starts) We've hardly kept a clean sheet without Agger starting (8 clean sheets from 15 starts) I know Aggers has some flaws that are easy to notice (gets "bullied" easily), but there's a lot more to a defenders game than that.
  11. Daniel Agger has started 12 league games for us this season. We've kept a clean sheet for 7 of those. We only have like nine or ten clean sheets all season.
  12. We will lose because: * we're always generous with the ones in desperate need for a result (when i say "always" i mean, it feels like always, even thought that's probably not one hundre percent accurate) * we're so good at tripping up when at the verge of something special (I know, I thought the same before the Fulham and Swansea games, nevertheless....) * it would just be so bloody typical... (just like it's typical for us never to score from corners, always concede from set pieces etc etc even though neither of those are actually the case)
  13. ... and both teams featuring a few fringe players as well.
  14. I haven't had time to read the whole thread yet, but obviously you were wrong on this one Code. We totally lost the midfield battle, and really missed someone willing to do the donkey work. Which Lucas does better than anyone in our team (after Mascerano left).
  15. Ha ha! Quality. It would be nice if you could scan the napkin in question and post a picture of it on here.
  16. I don't think there is the slightest chance of Roy ever playing Gerrard on the right except in emergencies. I hope I'm wrong.
  17. Ha ha. He certainly has. I'll rep you for that, even though I don't entirely agree with the rest of your post.
  18. "Rijkaard has just been sacked from Galatasaray - he must be a great manager to have been sacked by Galatasaray" That's the actual quote. Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has taken a pop at Frank Rijkaard, and defended his own record as Blackburn manager - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk He really makes me proud to be a Liverpool fan, coming out with stuff like that.
  19. Lucas Reina Konchesky I must have seen a different game to a lot of others, I though Meireles performance was pretty ordinary.
