Real shame. Comes down to a missed kick and packers missing two picks vs 9ers catching both of theirs. way beyond expectations for the season, especially how it looked in October/November.

Halsey: Referee standards have dropped to alarming levels

If I was Simon Hooper I’d backheel myself in the bollocks until I passed out. -
Even the good example of VAR requires a very shit example of an initial refereeing decision for it to have worth.

I thought it was boss. Sat and watched it all the way through with my girl, having made her watch some of the old ones about a year ago not knowing this was making a come back. Hugely disappointed not to hear a single “awooga” but otherwise happy with that.

There’s a thread in here somewhere about peoples first game. You should get him to write something and you can post it for him to live in memory for as long as Dave keeps paying for the servers. -
Almost right. All the way up to the last couple of sentences. let it die. It’s a nothing issue. Should be “take the piss out of it. It’s funny.”

Arsenal (A) - FA Cup 3rd Rnd, Sun 7th Jan 2024 (4:30pm)

The chance where they hit the bar should've been a better chance than it was. I’d be fuming if we failed to score from that. I’ve no interest in how xG works to define a number against that chance cause I’m not a stats nerd but they should have scored from that. they were well on top for the opening 20 minutes and we were lucky to be level. from then on, they didn’t really trouble us but - the Trent shot that hit the bar aside - we did absolutely nothing ourselves so it felt more one sided overall than it was. second half we were the better side in a close game and deserved to win. -

I’ve got an exceptional internal compass. It doesn’t matter where I am, if I’ve been there for more than 20 minutes I just have a great sense of which way I need to be going to get to places efficiently. it doesn’t work in york. At all.

That’s awesome.

You’re giving the pricks at PGMOL far (far, far) too much credit in suggesting they apply their judgement evenly and consistently. they decided the red for Curtis was right because on the day they wanted to, and they decided the red for DCL because on the day they wanted to. There’s no sense of one setting a bar or being compared to the same standard for the other. it’s just two separate decisions the ref on the field was overruled on by busy body VARs and I disagree with them both.

That sentiment is perfectly fair.
