  1. Signed Stevie´s cousin from Citeh´s youth team.
  2. Not sure Jurgen would see him as his type of player but you never know. He played a few minutes at the last World Cup but since then, his career has stalled big time. Loaned around a bit in Europe without ripping up any trees and was then loaned back to his hometown club here in Colombia. Did well enough and then he went on loan to River. There have been question marks about his fitness and attitude at times, but he´s a lovely player to watch; bit of a throw back I guess. Porto were looking for 10 million usd I think about 6 months ago although they might be bumping that figure if his world cup form continues. Can´t have more than 1-2 years on his contract though.
  3. I shall be in Chicago. Any recommendations on where to watch the game?
  4. Not sure how many internationals he´s played so far, most likely ten or less as he was injured for a period while at Palmeiras.
  5. I´ve been keeping an eye on Mina since he was at Santa Fe here in Colombia a few years back. It´s probably bollocks as he´s only in the door at Barca after a protracted enough transfer, but if there´s a chance, we should take it. He´s got the physical presence to be suited to the game in England and even though he´s a tall lad (bout 6 4 I think) he´s no slouch and he can play a bit too. Would be a great threat from set plays too. Like I said, probably bollocks as like any South American, getting to Barca has been a big thing for him. Was always going to need time to setlle in there after moving to Europe, but wouldn´t surprise me if he featured a lot more next year. If there´s any truth in it and there´s a chance, do it, and do it before the World Cup as he could easily be a break out player there.
  6. Don´t bump without a picture.
  7. It looks likes we´ll not be signing anybody, so we might as well pick each other´s grammar apart at this stage in the thread. The misapplied pedantry also dragged me out of my lurking ways after a long hiatus!
  8. "less" is fine there. "Fewer" would only be needed if he´d included "goals" after. As you were Stannis.
  9. the money we wasted on downing et al last summer gets more painful to fathom with each passing day.
  10. we need to be protecting stevie g more these days. one game a week and lets get the best out of him. in terms of today gutted we threw away the lead so easily, but a point cant be sniffed at given the somewhat erratic form we´ve been showing lately. another opportinity for moysey or should it be crabbie the ginger alcoholic beer to lay down a marker against us missed. onwards and upwards, this game is called survival until january when we can get some much needed attacking options brought in, llorente might be a dream too far but why not? 3 points against the barcodes next week is an absolute must.
  11. all i can say is, come on you redmen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. it´s going to be expensive and then some. brazil is massive and i´d imagine the flights are gonna be jacked up. will be awesome however. i´ve had a pipe dream since i was there in 2009 that the boys in green would qualify and i´d make my way there over land. alas i don´t think that will happen but since my adopted nation looked like they might well get there my plan is still a possibility. i spent a week going up river to manaus and if colombia get there im gonna try take a similar boat journey downstream from letiticia to manaus. still a pipe dream but im holding onto it, it will be a budget trip if i do make it, hammocks and cachasa all the way.
  15. they´re not indestructible there but it is a big advantage, a lot of their own players who play their football elsewhere were visibly running out of breadth so it can be difficult for the home side as well. think a lot has to do with how much time you can spend at that altitude before the game to get accustomed to it but more importantly how you start the game. uruguay conceded after 5 minutes and then again after 20. if you have a poor start there it very difficult to chase your way back into it. colombia went a goal up early on when they started off the qualifiers in la paz last year and so didnt have to end up chasing the game too much. in the end they had enough to snatch a late win. also the uruguayans were missing a lot of their back four and have generally been a bit of a shambles in the last few games, i´m sure they´ll get there act together and do enough to get to brazil. it´s a very competitive group so home form alone isnt enough. that was only the bolivians second win out of four or five home games and generally they don´t do so well on the road. it´s a slog of a group and consistency is the key. rockyroadtorio | Just another WordPress.com site
  16. lucho just got one back through a deflected free kick but i doubt we´ll see a swedish style comeback...
  17. luis and the uruguayans suffering another spanking. this time up in la paz, 4-0 down with half an hour still to play. no coates if you were wondering.
  18. que golazo by james rodriguez, check that finish out gents. shame we didnt splash some big cash on him last summer as i´d imagine he´s beyond our means now. hopefully suso can turn out similarly.

Click the Show button to reveal. definitely needs a bit more of lucky luciano, lansky and co and please more arnold rothstein! having said that the last episode has been the best this season with richard harrow stealing the show again. i´m afraid margaret schroder aint going anywhere so we best just accept that the big bunch of chauvanists that we are. personally i find gyp a bit distracting although he can be humorous, just fcuking shoot em already! looking forward to seeing what van alden ends up as, can see him dallying with the o bannion mob but he´s too fcuked up to go bad. anyone know how many series theyve got planned for this as they´ve got a shit load of possibilities for story lines and i´d like to see them get into the meaty ones soon
  20. Warning! The following content is NOT WORK SAFE. Click the Show button to reveal. he´ll definitely get mixed up with something no good but i reckon he´ll end up as a righteous loner a la omar at some point. the guy in the florist is dion o bannion, who was head of the irish mob around that time in chicago. He had a big rivalry with capones lot until capone took out most of his gang in the st valentines day massacre. Can´t remember which year that was but I´m sure it will be covered this season. After that was when the big backlash started against the bootleggers so when it does happen it´ll mean bad business for nucky and what not. Should be interesting to see where they go with richard harrow to be sure.
  21. entertaining game this from what ive seen. our young boys are knocking it round rather nicely. hopefully we´ll see yesil and a bit more cutting edge second half. people can really sound like miserable gits on here sometime. its our second string actually looking decent away from home with a handful of debutants. cheer up
