  1. But how many times have we thought that in the last year or so? If the players have that attitude we'll got beaten. It SHOULD be a walkover, but I don't think we're good enough to be arrogant about beating shit teams like West Brom yet. They might be utter shite but we can't have that kind of attitude until we starting beating these kind of teams away from home.
  2. Our away form this season has been awful, so much so that we've only managed back to back wins in the league once (Fulham and Charlton). If we're serious about finishing anywhere near the top four, we have to win on Boxing Day. A draw away to the worst side in the league who've just been spanked 4-0 by a side who'd previously only scored 14 goals all season would not be a good result. I hope Rafa sticks with the same side that started yesterday and that we go there to win. But sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if we come home feeling disappointed. After their recent results they'll no doubt be up for this game and if we go there with the same 'mentality' we've shown away from home we'll get nothing. Its all well and good beating Arsenal at home but if you don't beat the shite down the bottom who are fighting for relegation you're not going to finish up at the top. Our next four games give us the chance to really push on and put a run together. If we can take a point of Chelsea and win the other 3 it'll set us up nicely for the second half of the season. Our injury problems are behind us now - there's only Cisse and Vladi who are out now. Time to get the season started - dare I even say that the West Brom game gives us a chance to turn the corner?
  3. He's the fucking man. He IS the fucking man. Don't expect anything less from a Carragher interview. Great to see that he's finally starting to get some recognition from people. Just wish a few more of our fans would get behind him instead of banging on about the Ego.
  4. No offence Rashid, but what the fuck is the point in copying and pasting loads of articles into new posts without even bothering to comment on them? I think we know why you've posted this and half the others and I imagine you're sat behind your computer feeling very smug as you've posted a couple of articles to 'back up' your views, but why bother just posting the article? We'll all see them anyway, give us your opinion or don't bother at all. Consider yourself told young man  And the article means shit all. "He's not for sale" translates as "We don't want to sell him but he doesn't want to stay"
  5. You've hit the nail on the head there, lets bury the hatchet
  6. And he still has more England caps than John Terry. Terry has a measly 15, while Carra has 16. The stats don't lie. *Its also a fact that Terry has started 14 games and Carra has started 4, but that means shit all
  7. A player favoured for attributes other than ability is surely more of a cult hero than a legend? I wouldn't describe Carra as a legend yet, but if he goes on to play another 300 odd games for us and continues progressing into a better player each year....
  8. The roof has been leaking for a long time. Theres too many players who are just papering over the cracks. Eventually the paper will get too wet and the whole roof will come down. Wait till January when Rafa can reinforce the roof with some better quality materials - some wood will do for now - and when the Summer comes, it'll be a lot drier and he'll be able to spend more time up there fixing the roof properly. I've seen him scouting around Taskers and he's got a list of the tools and materials he wants, but he can't fix the fucking thing till his clients give him a deposit. Nobody likes getting wet, but its not a big deal if its only temporary. If Gerrard can't handle a bit of rain then he's a big soft shite and might as well fuck off to Chelsea now as its a lot drier down there at the moment. But there's a lot of pressure on their roof and cracks will soon emerge and he'll get an even bigger soaking. By which time our roof will be far better, but we won't be taking in any soggy street urchins.
  9. Would maybe find that funny if I didn't know someone who had testicular cancer. Your jokes are pure cheese at the best of times, don't make them worse by taking the piss out of a serious illness. :ermm: But still, Stubbs is a cunt. And they'll be fucked when they have injury problems. And if they bring in any new players in January it'll fuck up the unity and team spirit they have.
  10. So Gerrard is bigger than the club then? You'd rather keep one world class player and pull out all the stops to keep him happy and treat him differently than other players, instead of signing 4 or 5 quality players in the Alonso mould? Hate to use them as an example, but how many world class players have Everton got at the moment and look at their position? We all have ambitions to see us winning everything again, but remember, we don't have any rights. In Gerrard's eyes we aren't a big club it seems.
  11. I hate all this big clubs bollocks. So we should keep him just so we can remain "a big club" ? Balls. If things are going to get better, they might have to get worse first. Time for a lot of people to drop all this "we're a massive club, we won 4 european cups" shite. Times have changed.
  12. Carra! Apparently. http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagenews.asp?newsid=133898 This website is usually bollocks though, never any quotes or anything that seems remotely possible. Still nice to see the lad being linked with them though, quite a compliment for any player to be linked with Inter, but they can fuck right off.
  13. Define "small time club" and explain why you think we're a "big time" club now
  14. Last night confirmed to me why we need sell Gerrard ASAP and get the money while we can. He was too good last night. Ok, that sounds stupid, but everything is going through him and the other players seem to be relying on him too much. We can't build the team around one man - especially as he wants out anyway. If Rafa gets the chance of £40m to spend on 3 Alonso (or 20 Josemi's....) he should take it. I don't care how good Gerrard is, he doesn't want to be here and its embarressing seeing 10 clueless players looking to him to pull us out of the shit all the time. This isn't Steven Gerrard FC. Rafa has his work cut out and if he's going to build a team we're going to have to sacrifice our best player for 4 or 5 good players. The longer he stays the less money he's going to be worth. Cash in now, let him go and lets move on. As for the rest of last night. It was awful. Worse than Saturday in fact. We were at home to a mid table team and we resorted to defending a 1-0 lead with ten minutes to go - sound familiar? Firstly, why play one striker at home? And why even play Baros? He isn't fully fit and personally felt he would have been more effective coming off the bench. Certainly don't think its a good idea to play one unfit striker and make him do the work of two players. Baros is so effective for the Czech's when he plays with a big man. Why not stick Mellor in there to win the high balls and offer some support? Portsmouth came looking for a point - and played two strikers. We were the home side last night for fucks sake! Haven't seen the goal again yet, but looked like a Dudek error? No big deal if it was. It shouldn't have mattered, we should have had the game sewn up by then. Frankly though, we got what we deserved as we weren't worthy of 3 points though. By the way, where the fuck was the Sheriff? I hope he was injured else things look very fucking dodgy. This player started the derby yet was deemed to shit to even be on the bench last night? What does that say about his selection on saturday? He didn't even play that badly and was no worse than others, so where was he? I wouldn't be arsed if he never played for us again but it makes his selection at the Pit seem even more strange. Nunez looks like the player we all feared and Real Madrid are probably laughing their tits off that we fell for their offer and Josemi still looks equally shite. I said to myself at the start of the season I'd accept results and performances like these and judge all the players and managers at the end of the season, but after the last two games I'm not sure I could face another 5 months of this! Atmosphere was once again shite - though a good effort from the sing-along crew in 202 at la bamba and the song to the tune of 'the music man' but even an appearance from Ron Yeats in block 202 last night couldnt stir the crowd up last night, though its pretty hard when the football's so bad. How we can play so well in spells one game yet be so unbeleivably average the next?
  15. But remember, he's not injury prone..... Wonder if Rafa was considering a change anyway? Really isn't helpful with the keepers being chopped and changed all the time though.
  16. Well that was my first visit to the pit for a long time. And I won't be going back in a hurry. It was horrible - and I was in the away section! First off, the team selection was shite. Salif Diao? Do me a fucking favour. I can't understand how a professional footballer can be so shit. He can't pass, he can't control a ball and can't tackle - have you ever seen a more ridiculous tackle than when he got booked? How can a player not even have basic 'sunday league' qualities? And how could the board ever sanction a £5m transfer and £20,000 a week in wages for such a poor player? If Rafa wanted a bit of steal in the midfield (Which he was right to) why not play Welsh? A local lad who knows exactly what the Derby is about - and can anyone honstly say they think Diao is a better player? Our away tactics are fucking shit aswell. Ok, this was the derby and it was always going to be tough, but that game was there for the taking. Everton might be second, but they aren't a good side. Had we been more adventurous we would have took 3 points without question. Same can be said for many of our away performances this year. We look a completely different side away from home, but why should we? Their fans are the biggest bunch of no-mark gobshites. Ever. But sadly there were plenty of idiots in our end aswell. Plenty of people more interested in what Everton's finest had to say for 90 minutes and trying to think of something equally small time to shout back rather than watching the game and getting behind the team. That little fat fuck who got on the pitch at the end of the game was a disgrace. As were the two scruffs who got on the pitch after their goal (Which was equally shite - well done Kirkland, great positioning - and your David James esq. flapping at crosses was also top class). It'd be a tad hypocritical to whinge about this too much given a couple got past the stewards last wednesday, but its still fucking irritating. And as for that people's club bollocks. Ha! I lost count the number of times I heard cockney and yorkshire accents coming from blue shirted mongs. And the thick fucks can't spell: "Raphael Beneath Us". Quite clever really, shame its spellt Rafael though eh? Wonder what Dafid Moyes would think? I think we all have a right to be pissed off with the result - and with Rafa. Team selection was poor as our tactics away from home. I didn't expect an easy ride this year and between now and january its a case of making the most of what we have, but the second half of the season is going to be equally tough. 4th place seemed like a disaster last season, but it'd be a great achivement if we can get it again this year.
  17. You just know though that the loudest chant will be for Gerrard. Too many arse lickers in the ground. :wallbutt:
  18. The sad thing is, I bet his name is sung loud and clear tonight before the game ahead of any other player. Liverpool FC are fast becoming Steven Gerrard FC. Why is everything revolving around him? Why are so many people scared of losing him? If I had the choice of one Steven Gerrard or £40m to buy 4 Xabi Alonso's I know exactly what I'd take. Gerrard doesn't deserve all this attention, its only inflating his ego and turning him into an even bigger arrogant cunt. He'd fit right in at IFHC - and I bet he'll even start speaking with a Cockney twang as well. If the club he claims he loves aren't good enough for him and he isn't prepared to give Rafa chance then the sooner he goes the better. Great player or not, why keep him if he clearly doesn't want to be here? Ahem.... HORSESHIT! You don't fool me young man.
  19. Instead of singing Xabi Alonso, should 'Xabi' not be substituted to fit Josemi in? I know he's little bit suspect at the moment, but seems a bit unfair to leave him out.
  20. Here's something to think about: One of his biggest Rafaism's is the "We take one game at a time" line If this is the case, why was he looking towards the Olympiakos game after only 60 minutes yesterday? A manager should only bring off players to rest them if the game is as good as over. What is our priority? Getting into the knock out stages of the champions league or finishing closer than 30 points to the champions (Which is looking like it might be quite difficult this year btw)
  21. I can only assume he wants Mellor fit for Wednesday. Maybe I'm being a little too cynical here, but does anyone else get the feeling Rafa doesn't really like Mellor? Not playing at Boro, being preferred at times to FSP, being taken off early and his overall comments. After the Boro cup game and Arsenal last week Rafa seemed to put pressure on Mellor by saying he had to continue to score goals. Mellor to me seems as though he hasn't got a clue what his future is. Wouldn't it have been a good move for Rafa to say to him to relax and enjoy his football and that he'd start the next 5 games? There's been times when Mellor has looked like he's been trying too hard to impress, if he were more relaxed I'd think he'd have done even better. As I say, perhaps I'm being too cynical, but with us having no other strikers I thought Mellor would have been given a bigger chance.
  22. We'll be using this system when (if ?) we move. Think the club want every supporter to have a fan card which can then be programmed to be valid for swiping. Should be fairly easy to sort out. If theres a cup game simply phone a computerised phone system to activate your card or use the official site. What I'd like to see is a direct debit scheme for season ticket holders. I'm lucky enough to get to every home game but its a pain in the arse having to go down to the ticket office for every cup game. I'd rather they automatically took the money off me and sent me the tickets - if you couldn't go, you could simply send them back within a certain timescale for a refund. With the cards they'd be activated and if you didn't want to go, you could deactivate it online or over the phone. Make sense?
