As soon as the 4-and-a-half minute intro kicks in to Breaking Into Heaven" I want to hear the whole album. They're aren't many of them about. Anyway... voting 'other': Tightrope. This exact thing happened to my in-law's dog when I was looking after it. Scared the bejeesus out of me but it only happened the once and she lived on long after it. Tell you what... Going from a 3GS to a 4S... This screen is fucking amazing. And interweb is supremely fast on 3G. Siri is fun but a bit of a let down as us UK peasants don't get the luxury of business searches yet. How will I find my local curry house now?? Still beta and I'm sure it's coming. Photo stream is the tits. The camera is amazing. AirPlay mirroring is superb. That'll do for now.

It's worth turning it off temporarily to eliminate that as a cause anyway. Oh and you can delete and reinstall without having to re sync everything. It remembers your stuff.

There are a couple of levels here. On one, there are a bunch of people who are gutted that the guy who did the iPhone died. These are the people that will be phoning the Samaritans right about now. Just before they put their vote in for X Factor. Then, there are the people who know what Steve Jobs brought to the world of computing and technology and it really shouldn't be underestimated. He was a smart cookie.

Well the phone launches have traditionally been in June, the 4S being the exception to the rule. I think the delay in this hardware release has been because testing of iOS 5 has been unusually lengthy. Apparently there have been 5 'developer' releases which is a very high number compared to other ios versions. That's pure speculation on my part... but kinda makes sense. To me.

Well that was shite. Seeing as my 3GS is basically grinding to a halt I need a new phone and was very much looking forward to this release. I'll probably just go for an iPhone 4 rather than this more expensive and not-much-improved version. Looks like iPhone 5 is June 2012 then. That's what they did with the 3Gs to 4 updates wasn't it? I actually think they've dropped a bollock here. Anyone who currently has a 4 has absolutely no reason to upgrade. If you've got a 3G or 3GS you may as well get the 4, and not the 4S because it's significantly cheaper and probably (not looked) available on shorter contracts. To finish on a more positive note... the Siri thing where it will alert you when you arrive somewhere is very cool. IF it works.

I've found that if you just call Microsoft and explain that you're having to do a re-install and give them a genuine (but maxed-out) key, they'll allow it without any questions. Just beware that they probably have a healthy list of abused ones.

I used a Galaxy II and thought it was really good actually. Not as good as an iPhone 4 in my opinion though. What Apple manage to do with their releases is push the market forwards. The only reason that the better HTC phones EXIST is because of Apple's ability to forward-think. The main example being the iPhone obviously. There will be features with this new phone that nobody does yet, and HTC, Samsung et al will be copying it, and not bettering it, until the next iPhone comes out.

I probably would have got it but I was mid-contract and it didn't seem worth the money. The iPhone 4 is great. A load of my friends have them and I'm genuinely taken aback with the screen resolution every time I use one. That, and the massive improvement on the camera(s).
