It's the FA's fault - they're using us as a pawn to try and get an extra place, by nominating the 4th place side earlier in the season they were in a no lose situation. Simple solution to this - we go in the group stages and Everton play Man Utd in the qualifiers. England only get 4 teams in the group stages, everyones a winner. Yeah I know, you can't play a side from the same country that early, but why not change it? After all the champs always used to get in no questions asked.
