  1. Having French players that can actually play football wouldn't be a bad thing.
  2. Agreed about Mexes but we do need two centre halves IMO in the summer and we've got to try and find quality. I doubt a new manager would blood home grown players next season, so we'd have to do it on a budget. If them new signings worked out then great but there's no guarantees. I've got to say though Houllier being here next season really doesn't bear thinking about.
  3. Alot of Liverpool fans are desperate for Houllier to go and are so desperate for him to leave, they seem to think everything will be fine once he's gone but that might not be the case. I want Houllier out as much as the next man but his replacement might not necessarily have a magic wand and then you've got the Steven Gerrard comments about having to think his future if Houllier leaves and Owen has said similar things. Without them two we would be fucked. Also without Champions League football, we won't be able to compete with the top 3 in the transfer market at all (and see Mexes' comments) and with CL football Houllier will be still here.
  4. Gerrard obviously isnt the red I thought he was. FFS surely he doesn't believe things would get worse if we got a new manager? He wants to win trophies he's not going to under Houllier. If in a years time if Houllier is stil here then he'll be thinking about getitng away anyway because we're in a decline under the bloke. I've lost respect for Gerrard over this as he's not thinking about the good of the club. Or is he just another think footballer?
  5. Does anyone seriously believe John Welsh (or anyone else from the academy for that matter) will get a fair chance under houllier? I certainly don't. But then Houllier discovered Steven Gerrard, made Michael Owen the player he is today and made Carragher a regular in the team, so that's me being harsh. But when Ostemobor gets bombed out the first team squad for the crime of playing well (while Finnans playing shit at right back instead) why would it be diferent with anyone else?
  6. How funny would that be? All the little Englanders would be going mad
  7. I lost alot of confidence in Houllier after the Didi substitution but its not exactly a reason to want him out. The whole summer of 2002 really. Selling Stephen Wright, letting Jari leave and signing Daio, Luzi and Cheyrou and getting Diouf instead of Anelka. Everyone goes on about Diouf looking good in the world cup but only really against France and you could tell he wasn't going to score goals for us. It wasn't going to take much to tip me over the edge then and the Boro and Basle games were when I realised we were going backwards again.
  8. Its the inconsistency that drives me mad. All season, just when everyones totally fed up with things and everyone says if we lose tonight there'll be arses kicked we get a good performance and win. Also every time we get a couple of good performances and results and you think maybe we've turned the corner (Newcastle at home, three wins in a row in September, the attacking football against Leeds) it'll always be followed up by a lifeless performance and embaressing defeat soon enough. That's probably why Houllier stays in a job, we never have a run of defeats. Its just total incosistency, it was the same under Evans.
  9. "this is your big chance to join the ever-growing army of glory hunting SHITE who can be seen around the country in the colours of The SHITE" Contradiction in terms. Our teams shite but we're glory hunters.
  10. In the press conference on SSN yesterday something like "What the fans should remember is we had two 2-2 draws at the start of last season due to attacking too much and them 4 points cost us a Champions League place". What about the negative shite we were forced to endure for the next 9 months Gerard. Like the Boro game for one? That was 3 points lost ridiculously and that's what cost us a CL place more to the point. FFS will he stop taking us for fools, i'm starting to resent the man. In fact the Birmingham and Newcastle games he meant had we played like that all season, we'd have had a CL place sewn up well before the Chelsea game on the last day. And we'd have put a title challenge as long as we sorted thngs defensively. We can't play continuing attacking football under houllier though cause the moment we get a bad result he shits out.
  11. Can't watch the treble video now. Too painful.
  12. "i was reading the paper today where he stated he has 17 games to stop owen going" Whereas last week he said he'd defintely stay and not to worry. He's starting to contradict himself weekly.
  13. What are you on about O'neill and Shankly comparisons? You're the one who witters on about Houllier in Shankly terms. FFS the fact is we've gone as far as we can under GH and need a new manager. O'neill is one of the names suggested but if he ever reads any of these forums he wouldn't come anywhere near the place. I mean when Shankly was linked with the Liverpool job if you were around you'd have probably gone 'Oh I didn't like the style of play he had at Huddersfield and some of the players he had there aren't good enough'. How dare O'neill be upset that his team lost the UEFA Cup final to a bunch of cheats, especially when GH would have taken it really gracefully. And its terrible the way he jumps about the touchline, when he shut be sat there mumbling to himself like GH does. Phil Thompson never gets out of the dugout either and is always graceful and quiet.
  14. They're a disgrace them comments. He realises if he wants 40k a week for longer than the next 18 months he'll have to work hard cause he won't get that anywhere else.
  15. How an Evertonain can slag off anyone elses support is beyond me.
  16. Yeah but its fluking results like that, that's going to keep Houllier in a job and put the club in a worse position in the long run. An fa cup run could save his job and its not going to do us much good for next season if he stays. I'm relieved to be through today but it doesn't mean I have to be happy with rubbish like that.
  17. We were so bad in the first hour or so it was funny sometimes, not to mention downright infuriating. We only stepped it up when Yeovil tired and started making it easy for us. Bunch of foreign mercenries in the team today. Diouf and Smicer were dreadful as was the defence. In fact only Hamann kept things together for us, Dudek made some saves, Hyypia was decent and the number 8 had a reasonable effect as substitute. Why Riise and Biscan keep playing is a mystery.
  18. Yeah with SOuthall the goalie being their best player every week and getting MOTM.
  19. Remember that yeah. It was on a Sunday because we'd played Porto in the 2nd leg Uefa 1/4 final at Anfield on the Thursday which was a great atmosphere. Problem was that was a hangover from the previous match, Southampton was just a continuation of constant shite.
  20. That would really get my back up reder. Should have said something.
  21. Exactly its the clubs fault fans like that come into Anfield and that's what helps to pay the players ridiculous wage demands, so the players can't complain. That's why Roy Keane didn't have a leg to stand on over prawn sandwiches, when it was he who held the club to ransom over his wage demands. There was an idiot infront of me with a santa hate on, who booed at half time with both his hands on the side of his mouth and then 15 minutes later gave them a standing ovation onto the pitch for the 2nd half. Gave Heskey down the banks all game, sang his name when he scored, got behind the team for a bit after a goal, then booed them off at the end.
