  1. I see Tweedledum & Tweddledee (aka Tydesly & Beglin) are metaphorically sucking the Manc cock on the stiffs channel ITV4. I thought they were the "No.1" team @ ITV ? Just goes to prove they'll commmentate on the Mancs on any channel!
  2. Well said Noos. This is something which has also been nagging away at me since this "crisis" started. I'm no expert and dont begin to understand global economy models and how they all fit together, but speaking as a layman with above average intelligence & common sense, but is there not a finite amount of money sloshing about and making the world go round??? As you say there have to be winners in all this, its just they are keeping quiet at the mo. I'm also pleased that the US seem to have seen sense and told the financial sector "this is your mess, you made it, so get yourselves out of it" If indeed big institutions do go under then surely that creates room for other business to flourish. Its a bit like when huge ancient trees fall in the jungle, which lets sunlight onto the forest floor for new growth to emerge.
  3. Call me old school but Bollox to all this "Premiership this, premiership that" nonsense......... Oh sorry, I forgot .........................football only started in August 1992
  4. Just to get the thread back on track.......... I dont think that tarty heavy make-up look does her justice really. And no smart comments about actually looking at her face!!!
  5. Its the "arrogant" fans that piss me off the most really. All that "HOOF!" bollox when we play them really gets under my skin a bit. i haven't seen the Hull game yet but i'm assuming there was plenty of long ball direct route one play in the final few minutes!
  6. Don't usually like to gloat too much, but fuck it i'll make an exception...... Ha Ha, Arsene made too many changes & "rotated" his players!!!! Should've kept faith with the kids!!!
  7. Indeed, I concur. have some rep sir!
  8. Yeah dead on, I would've been 1st!!!!!!!! Honest.
  9. I've gone for Stoke just for the "re-write the injustice argument" a la Chelsea in 2005 (after the CC final) & Man U 2006 (the Gary Neville celebration).
  10. Thats a very good question actually. For all their exploits in the Carling Cup, you never really hear of them in the reserve/youth league. It has been ourselves and Man City the last few years.
  11. God, here we go again!!!! Seriously its not fair really, Arsenal youth team pissing all over a championship team while we huff and puff. ****stamps feet Violet Elizabeth style****
  12. The selections for referees aren't decided until the brown envelope full of rubles arrives from west London and Fergie has his pick.
  13. Not sure if you're being serious kopitegaz but thats hardly a practical solution as watching the match with no sound at all would be worse. I know the BBC have a 5live option on their red button service but I don't think SKY have any other commentary options other than the dreadfully bizarre but sometimes comical Fanzone commentary. I think SKY did used to have an option of no commentary but with all the other noises and lots of camera options. I used to like the behind the goal fixed camera which was the closest thing to actually being at the match especially when you were trying to work out what was happening down the far end!
  14. the FA would probably "magically repair" JT's broken leg anyway. I would just love someone to put their bloody home winning streak to rest, its getting really boring now! Anyway, even though Jose would disagree, I consider them to have lost to Charlton in the League Cup a few seasons ago even if it was on pennos.
  15. Amen brother, join the club. I feel liberated this season having boycotted the Sky pundit circus this season. Now all I need is a commentators equivalent of the forum ignore function for Andy Gray!
  16. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic :no what next, those oldie wooden rattles and bobble hats?
  17. He he!!! Thants (all time most winner) you're one to talk!!! Oh the irony!
  18. Will be interesting to see how the "City Experiment" works out, ie, does having reportedly more money than Abramovich and playing real life football manager actually guarantee success? Although they only got 1 player (who i don't rate actually) it was only I think due to lack of time in that last transfer window and the last minute timing of the takeover. If this had happened a few weeks earlier they would have created havoc with the transfer market IMHO. At this moment I think only mercenary players (which sums up Robinho perfectly) would be interested in going to Man City until they have some success. Bit of a chicken & egg scenario. For all their money a few years ago, Chelsea didn't actually sign any top-line world class players (Shevchenko was bought 2 years late & well past it). The names being touted as transfer targets , ie , all "crown jewel" players at all the top clubs are just ridiculous.
  19. As I've said before, I'm only watching the actual match this season. Watch or do something else during half time and switch over when the final whistle blows. Not interested in what Monkey Keys and his band of no mark guests have to say as I know for a fact we would have to beat Man U or Chelsea 5-0 or something to get any praise and even then there would be other circumstances contributing to said win.
  20. Just on a wider note. I'm sick to fuck of hearing the financial sector and big corporations blaming this fucking "Credit Crunch" for their own short sightedness and greed over the years. they fuck up and the common person has to pay! i'm no economic expert, but i'm sure that overnight squillions of £/$ or whatever mysteriously "disappeared". the Banks should have done the decent thing, realised yep we were a bit foolish and should be a bit more careful in future, took the hit in profits for 1 year and carried on. they must have creamed themselves when other economic factors conspired at the same time (rising fuel prices etc.) that helped defend their case. Anyway, speaking of doing the decent thing, Moores should put his hand in his pocket and buy the club back! Maybe not a good analogy but if you sold an animal or pet to someone and then sat back and watched as they abused said beast, would you not do something about it?
  21. I stand corrected good sir! Just seems to me that the "other 3" sail through their groups with about 2 games to spare. Was the Chelsea 0-0 away in 05/06 just for group position then?
  22. Didn't see this up anywhere so apologies if it is...... Tues 16 Sept.........Marseille A Weds 1 Oct..........PSV H Weds 22 Oct.........A Madrid A Tues 4 Nov.........A Madrid H Weds 26 Nov.........Marseille H Tues 9 Dec..........PSV A Would be nice to have qualification assured before the last game for once for a change. Win our home games and pick up at least a draw from the first 2 aways and we ahould be alright.
  23. Aye Nunavut, thats what I meant. I didn't literally mean that Liege's score is doubled. Its just the way that its always stated, "away goals count as double". The "away goal rule" effectively means that that teams away goals count double on the aggregrate score. Hope I've made sense!!!!
  24. I too have "a bad feeling " about this game too. Its been lurking like a black cloud over all things LFC for me the past few weeks. The only straw I can clutch at is that the past few seasons we've usually fucked up the return leg but usually after the work is done in the away leg. So hopefully things will be different this way round. Away goals count double as usual in these qualy rounds yes????
