  1. Looks like we now have some clarity on Salah's future so it's unlikely the attack changes too much (previous reports of Nunez sticking around included). Diaz to PSG would be the only significant change we could make now it seems.
  2. Probably worth revisiting this Athletic article from a few years back now that Edwards is back, can't imagine they've strayed too far away from it since he left but whether we stuck as doggedly to it come decision time is up for debated
  3. The midfield should be pretty simple, it just needs another defensive mid to balance it out. In 4231 #6 - New DM, Endo, Bajcetic #6/#8 - Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Jones In 433 #8 - Mac Allister, Jones, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Elliott #6 - New DM, Endo, Bajcetic
  4. If Diaz's dad isn't pushing for him to leave all summer then I'm more than happy with Diaz and Gakpo taking the left sided attacker spot with Jota being the 3rd man up (Jota and Gakpo also being the alternative for the #9 role). They're the only three I'm 100% on going into next season with. Everything else is dependent on what happens with Nunez and Salah.
  5. Nobodies suggesting him as the direct replacement for either player but as part of the squad, If Leeds don't get promoted it could be a steal.
  6. Got 5 goals and 6 assists in his first season in the premier league (including the winner against us) as well as the 20 goals 10 assists this season in the championship, and he's still only 22.
  7. This stop gap idea is so fucking stupid.
  8. Here you go. https://archive.ph/wasaS#selection-2573.4-2573.89
  9. Better to sell him a year early, for a massive fee, than a year late. One of our best players prior to the Afcon but his usual post international slump coupled with injury has killed any momentum. With a new manager, and a fresh start, now might be the best time to get the most we can for him and invest that into a new goalscorer even if it is selling our most consistent source of goals.
  10. While even I wouldn't lay the blame solely at Nunez's feet, how much impact is the forwards (all of them) inefficiency having on the defensive unit when they know they need to be near perfect or the game is over?
  11. Doesn't pay to give managers long contracts in their first deal and will pay even less with the new Profit and Sustainability rules coming in. Chelsea have found that out to their cost when appointing their managers as they end up paying large compensation fee's for appointing them and then they're on the hook for large exceptional costs when they have to fire them. Plus as someone has already said, Klopp got 3 initially and if Slott gets in the door and is looking like he'll be successful he'll be renewed pretty quickly.
  12. Early kick out at the Carlton club then.
  13. Lutsharel Geertruida was at the game, haven't seen anything about Gimenez.
  14. It's the same structure we had in the early days of Klopp. Manager will be part of the process but won't need to spend time doing any leg work.
  15. His numbers improved as the rest of the team deteriorated in that season at Benfica. It was the same impact that Ronaldo had on Utd when he scored 20 in his second spell and everyone else dropped dramatically because they were more concerned with giving him chances. Neither his build up play or his goalscoring over the long term was good enough for the price we paid.
  16. Wasn't he signed largely on being good against us and being a handsome boy? Not sure he showed up that well on that stats it was more 'vibes'.
  17. Nunez lucky to make the bench, Clarke and Danns unlucky not to be on the bench.
  18. Guilty, but what do you think about the article...
  19. I'm not the one that seems to be annoyed though, it's the classic lunatic shouting that everyone else is mad at 2pm in a wetherspoons trope. It seems to consume your every waking moment, never go full Le Tiss.
  20. I think prior to that season (if it is the one I'm thinking of) our injuries were pretty bad as usual so not sure it was an age thing.
  21. Was it the year we won the league where we were exceptionally lucky with injuries and had far fewer than in previous (or future) years?
  22. Who mentioned Labour? I'm dismissing your performative outrage which is very tory (or very remorseful drunken night out, which basically amounts to the same thing).
