  1. Hope he resigns before he’s sacked. It’ll make Boris look weak.
  2. You may well be right. It wouldn’t be a complete surprise to see both Werner and Sancho come through the door with this possibility in mind. Succession planning at its finest.
  3. Clearly he won’t do that but I do think there’s a line the media should be careful not to cross. He’s definitely a cunt, should resign or be sacked and of course he’s in a position where he needs to be held to account. I’m not saying the line has been crossed, only that it shouldn’t be. Two wrongs and all that. After Caroline Flack, I was hopeful that the media would do their job but in a more ethical/kinder way (I know this was always unlikely) and this should apply no matter who they’re holding to account. That scrum outside his house yesterday wasn’t a good look. They just need to take the high road, keep asking the questions, apply reasonable pressure and hopefully the right result will be obtained. Crossing the line just gives ammunition to those seeking to deflect from the obvious wrongdoing of one of their own.
  4. Werner just feels like it will happen. Too much smoke for there to be no fire. I’d have said 90% chance, pre corona. Probably more like 75% now but still more likely than not. He’ll come, bed in for half a season, then we should see him make a decent contribution. I suspect one of Salah or Mane will be off by the end of next season so makes sense to bring a potential replacement in now. If it’s not him it’s Sancho (some smoke, not enough for a fire). Or Mbappe (highly unlikely, we can but dream).
  5. Starts by telling us what’s the mark of a good parent. Outstanding levels of hypocrisy.
  6. This. He’s a cunt, needs to go, but I can only see his fat, blonde, cunt, puppet ending up increasing his popularity when he does. Perfect scenario is another ‘stand by my man’ message today which gloriously unravels in the days ahead.
  7. What ingredient is bottom left? Assuming it’s some kind of sausage but it’s deeply unattractive. Particularly when placed in the vicinity of those gorgeous baked beans. One for the ‘Punching above...’ thread!
  8. Starter: My mothers homemade soup and a fresh, crusty, bread roll and butter. Main: Lamb roast dinner with all the trimmings. Given it’s my last meal, I’d also like a bowl of chilli on the side with grated cheese on top. Dessert: Treacle sponge with vanilla ice cream.
  9. p.s. It’s certainly not boring.
  10. It’s ok I think. Trying to be honest rather than just blow smoke up your rear. I like the story, black humour and there’s probably a metaphor in there somewhere as well. Its definitely a poem though and I’m sure many will enjoy it.
  11. Hoffs all day long. Also all night long and most of the following day.
  12. Who says they’re boring? Do you think that or has that been confirmed by those who’ve read them? Like all art forms, appreciation will be subjective. I guess it depend on what you’re writing them for but I would always advise writing for you and then if others like them then that’s a bonus. If you write to please but don’t get what you need from it, then you’ll quickly lose interest and probably will end up being a lesser poet than you might have been. I’ve written poems that I’ve been really pleased with (I’m hard to please usually) and they’ve had little or no positive feedback from those I’ve shown them to. Others I’ve banged out in fifteen minutes and they’ve generated a lot of positivity so it’s really hard to tell what’s good and what’s not. What triggers emotion in you? Start with that.
  13. Just write and see where it takes you. You don’t need to follow rules, forms, types, structures etc. for it to be poetry. If you write it, get something from the process and can live with the end product then you’re a poet. If others read it and it provokes a reaction (good or bad) then even better. In the first instance, just write.
  14. They’re unconsciously incompetent. And cunts.
  15. Robbie Savage taking them to task/not taking them to task. Hancock would go up in my estimation (from the pits of hell, to the shallow end of the pits of hell) if he produced one of Savage’s replica shirts and put it in the bin.
  16. Thanks - I’ve been walking quite a bit these last few weeks so the stiffness this morning isn’t quite as bad as it ordinarily would have been. I never thought I’d enjoy it as much as I do. The physical and mental benefits are a godsend just now.
  17. Longest walk of lockdown to date yesterday (circa 10.5 miles). Please see below a list of things that hurt. Left knee. Lower back. Right hip. Right shin. Left ankle. Right ankle. Left foot. Right foot. Left big toe. Please see below a list of things that feel better: Soul. Mind.
  18. RAWK. I like the craziness of the place. It’s like a parody of an unmentionable forum only the humour is unintentional. The moderators are especially unintentionally hilarious.
  19. I honestly can’t think of a more vile politician in my lifetime than Priti Patel. Thatcher obviously did more damage but she had more power. The mind boggles at what this cunt might do if she ever got the top job. I am aware that I’ve just selected two females so, for balance, I also hate Esther McVey (binned or not).
  20. I dislike it so much I’d reinforce the side of the wall I’m on to prevent any possibility of it tumbling down due to those sitting on it. I’d do this to ensure those who do like it never get a view of what a civilised world looks like.
  21. I love her. Dead to Me would be a 6.5/10 without her delectable presence. As it is, it’s a solid 245/10.
  22. Just been on a solo mission to the Supermarket. Our ‘big shop’ usually contains four cans of beans. I bought eight. I feel, in my own small way, I’ve stuck it to the Wo(man) today. Although I am considering eating the contents of two of them for lunch before she notices.
  23. This. The beans provide moisture one side of the plate. Egg yoke the other. Reduces the need to transfer one of the other ingredients unnecessarily long distances across the plate.
