  1. Sad news about Davide Astori. Not football related but Roger Bannister first man to run sub 4 minute mile has died as well.
  2. One of the journos on Sunday Supplement saying Moshiri went into the club selling the dream of Champions League and challenging for titles and it has not happened so the natives were bound to get restless. Sounds about right.
  3. Hope Lovren gave van Dyke the same look when he launched one into the KD about halfway through the 2nd half last night!
  4. I do not think Jurgen is going to be spending £70m - £85m on any players unless he sees those players bringing something to the team one of his current players does not have. I cannot see him paying the thick end of £80m for another striker when he sees Ings and Solanke available unless one or both want to leave for regular football. Even then I think people wanting a name are going to be disappointed. I too think if Karius plays as he is doing we will not be spending much on a keeper. Even if Mignolet leaves we will likely see Ward made number two keeper.
  5. That is because last season Szczęsny was Romas first choice keeper. He has only got in the team now because Szczęsny has gone to Juventus.
  6. What hacked me off most about that incident is against spurs the lino was waving his flag like a cheer leader for the Lamela penalty incident yet the lino this time in the same position seemed to shit his kecks at the thought of having to give a similar decision at a similar time in the game. There is no consistency and that is what I think pisses peole off more. One game you get one decision the next you get a different one.
  7. Yeah but he made just as good a save last week tipping that one on to the bar before we scored.
  8. Yeah he could go to Barcelona or Madrid. And be jeered by their shit fans and even shittier media if he has a bad game, misplaces a pass or misses an open goal. He could even play for a manager at either club who really does not give a toss about the player so long as they win because his job is more important to him than any player. Nah, the lad's here as long as Jurgen is and the club acts like it is continuing to challenge city for the title.
  9. Think Jurgen said he would not be resting people for this game. We will see as surely he will give some of the other players game time. One game at a time but I am also sure everyone will have an eye on the game later in the week.
  10. Who you calling a prick. Just because you been shown up to be the pussy you are. Go and lick your arse.
  11. That's a superb save especially the amount of turn he got on that ball with his finger tips.
  12. Brilliant save by Karius. Nice to be a goal in front but it looks like the cold has numbed a number of our players brains. Too slow moving the ball and too many times moved it backwards with few players looking to take any one on. For a few minutes after the goal you could see how Newcastle struggle with our movement and speed. Step up a gear or two and push on boys. Nice assist by Chamberlane and good finish by Mo.
  13. Haha. Picked a massive game to transmit free to air there. Record viewing figures no doubt. Not.
  14. Nowhere have I said you said anything. I do not know why you always reply in a condescending manner. I was giving an example of the very clear example of what point he was making.
  15. This does not sound good if proven. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/2018/03/02/exclusive-liverpool-football-clubs-young-players-investigated/ wo of Liverpool Football Club’s youth players are under investigation allegedly for sexually harassing female teachers and young girls at the school they attend. Rainhill High School in Merseyside has launched an inquiry into both rising stars of the Premier League club following allegations about inappropriate sexual comments and behaviour. Whistleblowers told The Daily Telegraph how staff and pupils had complained about the conduct of the club’s young players but that the school management had been slow to act. In one case, it was claimed that the Liverpool players acted in a sexually intimidating manner toward a group of 11-year-old girls during their sports lesson, parading around with shirts off and trousers undone. It was alleged they were shouting and swearing. In another instance, one player
allegedly sexually harassed a female teacher. The school was made aware of both these cases after staff made formal complaints. A source close to the school told The Daily Telegraph: “They are really big, well-built lads and they have been intimidating staff and pupils, making sexualised comments aimed at them, and jeering. “A lot of people feel that the behaviour is out of control. It has really escalated. We have been told that the club is taking it seriously.” England midfielder Raheem Sterling was educated at Rainhill High School Credit: OLI SCARFF The source told how the Liverpool youth players had also been responsible for “horrendous” vandalism. “There is a lot of anti-social behaviour: kicking balls at windows and smashing them, kicking balls at children,” they said. The school is the nominated place for players enrolled at Liverpool Football Club’s academy. Another source said that “the lads do whatever they want” while the school’s management “turns a blind eye”. They added: “The attitude is that ‘boys will be boys’.” The source told how they witnessed two of the club’s young players shouting crude sexual comments at a female student. “The incident was reported but nothing was done,” they said. Staff wrote to Ofsted, the schools inspectorate, to alert them about their concerns, and that triggered inquiries from the local council about safeguarding, The Telegraph understands. Premier League footballer Jordon Ibe went to Rainhill High School Credit: JOHN SIBLEY A spokesman for Ofsted said it could not comment on individual cases, but added that it brought any concerns, relating to safeguarding or allegations of abuse, to the attention of the local authority social services and the police. The school was last inspected in 2014 when it was ranked “good”, with inspectors noting that “the curriculum provides some outstanding opportunities for students’ spiritual, moral social and cultural development and prepares them well for life in modern Britain”. Inspectors said that “safeguarding, particularly of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged students, is strong”, adding that all statutory requirements were met by the school. A spokesman for Liverpool FC said: “We are aware Rainhill High School is currently looking into complaints made against two of their pupils who are also young players at Liverpool. “The club will allow the school to conclude its own inquiries in the first instance before considering their findings. “Until the school completes its own process, the club will not be making any further comment.” A St Helens council spokesperson said: “The council can confirm that no investigations are currently being carried out at Rainhill High School in relation to safeguarding concerns.” Rainhill High School did not respond to requests for comment.
  16. I think the point he is making is the future is a lot brighter even if it is not yet perfect. Under the previous ownership regime in 2012 the club made a loss of £50m and income was down to £184m. The club had been selling all its best players and recruiting quality players to replace them was not happening. Now the latest reports should show a profit after tax of nearly £40m and income up to £364m without European football putting the club in a position to buy quality players. Yes we sold Coutinho who wanted to leave but the club has also bought Lallana Mane Firmino van Dyke and Salah and brought through TAA and lesser signings like Robertson. In other words the club is buying more quality players and now moving in the right direction. The stadium question has been put to bed with the new stand and hopefully a new ARE will be built in the next few years. A new consolidated training base is also being built fit for a club who wants to develop attract and retain the best players. Yes we all want to win the trophies and but for a bit of luck and application would already have had 1 maybe 2 in the bag under the current manager. Yet all we read on here in constant doom and gloom.
  17. Organic growth what does that mean.
  18. What so you think Liverpool got a massive new stand free of charge because Carillion did the work. Last I checked Carillion had completed the job for over a year before Carillion disappeared up their own building site. Point is it is still a cost LFC have to meet sometime in the future. I believe it is called a debt.
  19. Yeah just to point out that quote is actually from the report and not me. And I never said it was time to celebrate either. that said the fact of the matter is the club is not going to last long running a massive debt regime.
  20. Falsifying accounts is actually fraud.
  21. I do not think Gaurdiola will stay anywhere near as long as Ferguson. But I do think City could quite easily win 3 or 4 titles on the bounce with the squad he has and more importantly the ability to go out and buy just about any player. I agree I do not see them winning the title in future years by such a big margin. Hope you are right and I am wrong.
  22. Has he missed out the bit where he is being paid a shit load more and then some compared to Atletico.
  23. I think as long as Gaurdiola stays there they will dominate the league especially as they are happy to spend £50m for just about any squad player now so even their second tier players are capable of having good runs in the domestic cups. I do not think they will bother much with the FA and League Cups going forward after this season. They will concentrate on the League and Champions League. Yeah he may only stay another 4 or 5 seasons.
  24. I think you missed the most likely scenario he will be here a long time. His make up shows he does not want to manage just any club. He already turned down Manchester United. I think he will win trophies although my biggest fear is that City will dominate the Premier League for at least the next 4 or 5 maybe 6 years.
