  1. Get you tin hats out. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50133876 Ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has apologised to Patrice Evra for wearing t-shirts in support of Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan racially abused the Frenchman in 2011. After a two-month investigation, Suarez was given an eight-game ban by the Football Association on 21 December. A day later, Liverpool wore 'Suarez 7' t-shirts in the warm-up before their Premier League game against Wigan. Carragher said the club "got it massively wrong". The former England defender was working in his role as pundit on Sky Sports on Monday alongside ex-Manchester United full-back Evra. Carragher said: "There is no doubt we made a massive mistake, that was obvious. We got to the ground, had our lunch and then had a team meeting - I don't know if it was the manager (Kenny Dalglish) or (coach) Steve Clarke - asking one of the players if he still still wearing the shirt and that is the first I had heard of it. "I am not lying and saying I wasn't part of it because as the club we got it wrong and I was vice-captain. I am not sure who was actually behind it. I don't think it had anything to do with the manager Kenny, I think it was the players who were close to Luis in the dressing room who really wanted to support their mate. "Maybe I have to look at myself now and say I did not have the courage as an individual to say 'I am not wearing it'. I don't think everyone within Liverpool Football Club thought what we was doing was right but I do think as a football club or you as a family, your first reaction is to support them even if you know that they are wrong and that is wrong." Evra added: "When I saw it I was like this is ridiculous. This is unbelievable. You put your own club in danger when you do those things. You always have to support your player because he is from your team but this was after the ban. If it was before and we were waiting for the sanctioned, I would understand. "What message do you send to the world? Supporting someone being banned because he used some racist words." What happened between Suarez and Evra? In November 2011, Suarez was charged by the Football Association with racially abusing Evra in a 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield one month earlier. On 20 December, Suarez was banned for eight games following a six-day hearing, during which Suarez was accused of using "insulting words", which included reference to the colour of Evra's skin. The ban was suspended pending an appeal. One day later, Suarez started in a 0-0 draw against Wigan, a game in which he hand his team-mates wore T-shirts with Suarez's name and picture on during the warm-up, in a display of support for the Uruguayan. Liverpool backed the player in the dispute, saying: "We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone. "No one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United team-mates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth." Suarez told media in Uruguay that he "called him [Evra] something his team-mates at Manchester call him". Evra made his claims immediately after the match and was quoted as telling French television station Canal Plus: "There are cameras, you can see [Suarez] say a certain word to me at least 10 times." The Football Association's report into the incident, released at the end of December 2011, stated that, after being tackled by the Uruguayan, Evra asked Suarez why he had kicked him, to which the forward replied in Spanish: "Because you are black." When Evra challenged him to repeat the answer and said he would "punch him", Suarez said: "I don't speak to blacks." Suarez is said to have used the term "negro" seven times in around two minutes. On 3 January 2012, Liverpool decided not to appeal against the verdict, but the club maintained Suarez was innocent.
  2. Stuart Brennan's a fucking dick. Always has, always will.
  3. Reports that a manchester united fan was kicked out of old trafford yesterday after being identified by other united fans to stewards for calling Trent a 'fucking black cunt.'
  4. Interesting to hear atkinson went to the Liverpool dressing room and say that about VAR. Maybe atkinson thought the VAR would confirm the foul so he could wipe it out although that seems a massive leap of faith!
  5. Fuck me, Traore scores 2 goals against city and suddenly he's the next Messi? The lad is no better than the last Traore we had!
  6. Naby needs to stay fit, simple as. If he doesnt or cannot, it's no good going on about what he brings to the team.
  7. To be fair to neville, he called the foul on origi without hesitation. He was pretty certain the goal was going to be scrubbed out by VAR and was surprised it wasnt.
  8. Looks like that James is a snide cunt after all and Im pretty sure Giggs was spot on about him being 'clever' in the Wales game. But how come he was passed fit for this when Mo was ruled out for the next game last season when he was flattened by the Newcastle keeper? I thought this concussion rule wasnt down to individual clubs? Both times he was in tough tackles he had a sneaky look around him before playing dead. And why did atkinsonstop the game when it wasnt a clear head injury when he stayed down? If they were that concerned after his 'concussion' from the Wales game, why was he allowed to stay on in this game? Someone at the club needs to have a word with Matip. It may be ok to put the ball out against other oppos when we're winning but against these cunts, never. Whoever is saying the fould on origi wasnt a foul, WTF? I might agree in another game it isnt a foul but in the context that the ref was giving them fouls for LESS, thenit clearly was a biased opinion of the ref and VAR not to give one in this case.
  9. martin atkinson is a fucking biased cunt. Well, I thought that, for the most part, was a real shit show. Maybe Im being a bit harsh there and it's bourne out of frustration? For whatever reason, we just seem unable to shake off the shackles when we visit that dungeon. I thought for large parts of the first half that we controlled the game. But too often our final ball was shite. The second half was pretty much the same although admittedly more penetrative. The first half hung on two important VAR decisions. Actually, that's not wholly correct because martin fucking biased cunt atkinson repeatedly gave united fouls while waving play on against us. I count 4 such fouls on us in their half where he waved play on before their 'goal.' And that doesnt include the clear and blatant foul on Origi leading to their goal. How on earth does a ref not give that when he's given them fouls for far less? It's because he's a biased inept cunt, that's why. Im probably in the minority here because Im 100% in favour of VAR technology. People may say VAR isnt correcting mistakes but I say VAR is seeing them but that other stupid cunt in charge of refs and VAR is not using VAR correctly. That foul on Origi is clear as day. You dont even need VAR to spot it and atkinson was well placed to see it. But then inexplicably, the VAR 'ref' decides there isnt a 'clear and obvious error'! Say what!? As soon as I saw Saio's goal was subject to VAR, I could see it wasnt going to stand as thems the rules. It's definitive, did the ball touch his hand and if it is, it isnt a goal. And that is the difference between the two incidents, interpretation. A foul is subjective whereas ball hitting hand isnt. There's no doubt in my mind Sadio's goal should be ruled out and also so should have united's. As the second half wore on, I was almost resigned to losing the game because although we upped the workrate and urgency, we werent making any clear cut chances. But this team doesnt give up easily and what a relief to see the ball squirm through a load of players to Lallana who doesnt miss from there *cough, cough* If there was going to be another goal, it was pretty clear who the winner was going to be. And then we had yet another failure by biased and blind cunt atkinson when an united player lunged at the ball in the box and the ball clearly strike him on the shoulder joint. That's a pen all day. From tip of fingers to the top of the shoulder is hand ball. He'd also leaned into the ball andnot the ball striking him. I honestly couldnt believe the VAR ref didnt give that! So the long winning run came to an end with the draw. The only sure thing you can say about long runs is they come to an end some time. We've a couple of tough fixtures on paper coming up and I hope our legs are fresh for them. We dont want this to be followed by a couple of draws. Here's hoping we go on another 17 games winning run. Did I say atkinson is a biased fucking cunt?
  10. Pellegrini only ups his team's game when they play the clubs challenging his former club's title ambitions.
  11. Well I didnt get to his first game at arsenal but was at Coventry in his second when we destroyed them. There was lots of cheering when the team came out and no bananas thrown. As you say, they talk utter bullshit. They probably claim it was us singing everton are white.
  12. I just hope we approach this game 10 times better than we did last season.. We are now in the realms where 1 point at their gaff is no longer a 'good' result, it has to be 3.
  13. What!? An everton fan trying to make something of a racist incident at a football match? I was at John Barnes first two derbies. Who cannot remember being shocked at seeing bananas thrown on the pitch in BOTH games, Aldo picking them up and chucking them back with real disgust on his face and chants of 'Niggerpool' and 'everton are white, hello!'? Apologies for using that word but there will be plenty of fans out there who either did not witness it or know it happened. These twats have in the view of many, become the 'acceptable scousers' when in fact, they're the biggest bunch of cunts you'd ever meet.
  14. Yes, reported groin injury. Very likely to miss Sunday's game apparently.
  15. The trend amongst some clubs to drop the words 'football club' from their name as if they are ashamed of it or, think they are so big they dont need to call themselves football clubs anymore. Started with manchester united. I notice city followed suit as have arsenal and the shite. We have kept with tradition. Our club crest still stays Liverpool Football Club. Even our shirt badge still says LFC.
  16. There's only one club in England that wouldnt have Jurgen as manager right now. And if they didnt have Guardiola, even they'd want him.
  17. Essentially you had to be a male, over 21 and paying an annual rent of £10 or owning land valued at £10 or more. Woman had no vote and even around 40% of men could not vote.
  18. Fucking bollocks. He's thinking about Rangers although they say they never had such a ban. They said they hadnt found a catholic player good enough for them, so just a coincidence.
  19. To be an import refers to his time outside of England. He was prolific at both Fiorentina and Roma. Personally, I think that meets the criteria for being a 'top import' rather than a handful of appearance for mourinho who only bought him to stop him coming here in the first place.
  20. It's more than a bit sad that someone can think this never mind post it. I remember when united won that game against sheff wed with 2 goals after 9 minutes added time back in 94. I knew then the twats were going to end their 26 year wait but never did I think I wanted to die because of it.
  21. This. I'll be gutted when Jurgen goes. Fingers crossed he'll have got the 30 year old 'monkey' off our backs, maybe even twice, before he does. But when he does, he will leave with only my goodwill and blessing for the job he'll have done. Maybe he'll decide to give it another couple of years after this contract, maybe the German FA will make their move for him around that same time? Who knows, just enjoy the ride.
  22. 300m to drain and fill in a dock!? Who's doing it, BBC's cowboy builders?
  23. I dont think Jurgen will sanction a sale of Origi for £40m in January for one minute. We'd have just come back from Dubai and likely need him. Neither do I think Lovren will be shipped out either especially if our lead is down to 4 or 5 points. Shaqiri may go seeing as he isnt being used at all. End of the season and if we do win the title, I could see one of Mo or Sadio maybe moving on as they have delivered the holy grail. Radical and I hope Im wrong. I could also see one of Degsy or Gomez moving on if they havent been an integral part of the team maybe Lallana as well. That would give Jurgen room and money to bring in some new faces for a new crack at the title.
  24. Bang average arsenal are 1 point behind city. They have 4 very winnable games out of the next 5. The one they might struggle with is Leicester away. Course they may struggle in a couple of others too, time will tell. Im not suggesting arsenal will be contenders but it would be a little unwise not to keep a respectable eye on them for now.
