  1. Unless you're a massive Kobe fan and want to watch his retirement tour, they definitely aren't worth watching at the moment. Byron Scott is basically marginalizing DeAngelo Russell and Randle to give more shine to Kobe. It's frustrating to watch if you are banking on the Lakers future. It will be interesting what they do after Kobe retires. It's either they go after a marquee free agent like Durant, Demar Derozan etc.. or they tank and stockpile picks. They may be tempted to sign someone big to make up for Kobe's loss. L.A have never not had a big star name for long.
  2. Jordan, Bill Russell, Kareem, and Magic are all untouchable, you are right. Beyond that, I think this Golden State team is good enough that he may have 4-5 rings by the end of his career if everything goes right. In that case, he'll rival Duncan, Bird, and Kobe/Lebron for that 5th spot. It was an exaggeration on my part based on his form the last year and a half, and realistically there are so many greats that for many, it is hard to imagine him even cracking the top 15, but I have never seen a player like him. He is unique
  3. Possibly unpopular opinion: Stephen Curry will be viewed as a top 5 player of all time when he retires. He is the most technically gifted basketball player iv'e ever seen as far as shooting and handles are concerned. No one can touch him.
  4. This guy is the greatest football commentator youtuber out there. Love him.
  5. Liam Andrews ‏@liamandrewsmk 19m19 minutes ago Suarez on #LFC: "I miss the fans. The atmosphere is incredible, it's incredible. They know they are in my heart." FFS, man. Always thought he was one of those players who would go back to South America to finish his career like a lot of the Argentine players do, but maybe there is hope for a return after all. Also O Globo reporting Pato to Chelsea is done. I personally think he'll do well. His motivation couldn't be greater really.
  6. Seleção Brasileira ‏@BrazilStats 29s30 seconds ago ESPN Brasil: The outcome of the negotiations will be amazing news for Alex Teixeira, spectacular for Shakhtar and expensive for Liverpool. Think we've broken our transfer record. Edit: ESPN Brasil may not be very reliable. They said Firmino was gonna sign for United. Dave O’Connell ‏@DaveOCKOP 5m5 minutes ago Phil Thompson has described Ryan Shawcross as "absolutely ideal" for Liverpool and has urged Jurgen Klopp to sign him. Cunt.
  7. Dave O’Connell ‏@DaveOCKOP 54s54 seconds ago Negotiations are nearly compete. Liverpool will probably sign Teixeira. (ESPN Brazil) On another note Newcastle have just spent 24 mill on Jonjo Shelvey and Andros Townsend. We are now officially second worse when it comes to transfers. Sky Sports News HQ ‏@SkySportsNewsHQ 4m4 minutes ago BREAKING: Newcastle agree fee of £12m for Tottenham winger Andros Townsend #SSNHQ
  8. oops, repped this before I read the last paragraph.
  9. One thing that iv'e really loved about Klopp is how protective he is of the players. Even though it's abundantly clear that there are many players he doesn't rate and that a lot of them are patently not good enough, he always defends below par performances from individuals and compliments them in the press. He's called Benteke "a perfect striker", Milner "the complete footballer", he's never blamed Mignolet or Bogdan for any fuck up, which you wouldn't really have begrudged him doing. Iv'e noticed after bad results he's blamed the weather a lot, blamed opponents for playing very negatively, blamed the pitch etc.. It might seem a bit small time but it's very intelligent. Alex Ferguson used to do this, He'd always blame refs or the weather or dumb luck and never his players for poor performances and the result was a group of players with supreme confidence who gave their all for him. Liverpool aren't remotely close to that level yet but the points we have gained from losing positions this year shows that Klopp's man management style is top class.
  10. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CZldhaJWcAA--6d.jpg:large This is from an Everton fan but it's a fun little conspiracy theory.
  11. You guys are nuts. Ramires is one of the worst footballers in the Premier League. He's a much more shit Ji-Sun Park. This is absolute high way robbery by Chelsea once again.
  12. I will always maintain that Sakho is good enough, here's why. For me, the form of any of our defenders depends on the organization of the team. In the first 10 games of Klopp's reign, he set us up very well, we were organized, the midfield was providing good protection to the back 4, and every defender we had looked good. The last month in a half, team organization has been poor because we've had so many problems scoring goals that Klopp is free-wheeling it and the players are just running up and down the pitch to try to create chances. Our defenders then look poor because the midfield isn't structured correctly. It's the same thing that happened constantly under Rodgers and it happened to Klopp at Dortmund as well. In his final season there, Hummels and Subotic were made to look like complete clowns because Klopp was desperate tactically and the midfield was all over the place. Think of John Terry, he was the best defender in the league last year. Now a year later he's had an absolute nightmare. You can attribute this to Mourinho panicking, his inability to set up the team and the poor form of Matic and Fabregas. Terry didn't suddenly just turn into a mess. Sakho is a first choice French international when fit. He has deficiencies sure but he is good enough. If he's not the answer than I dont know who is. It's the same idea with Lovren and Moreno. They've both looked more than competent when the team is well set up. That's because they are pretty talented players but very few defenders in world football will look good with a poor tactical plan, a mess of a midfield in front of them and a shite goalkeeper behind them. I would say Thiago Silva is just about the only defender in the world who can look good no matter the situation around him. If Klopp can get us organized and make Sakho and Lovren the partnership with Matip to deputize, we'll be fine. Bar selling Skrtel, who's style simply isn't the right defensive fit for a big team, we can't keep buying and selling defenders, especially when what we have is already good enough.
  13. “We’ve accumulated a terrific mixture of players, with probably the most talented group of young players in English and European football,” I wonder who's fault it is that the best young squad in football is languishing in 12th?
  14. I love Cam Newton.I love his showboating and the amount of hatred he instills in the hearts of old white people everywhere.
  15. That is so so naive. You think he's some nutjob who bites people because he can't control himself? He's not a 4 year old for god's sake. His bites were clearly all premeditated He bit the guy at Ajax during the time when he wanted to leave but the club were trying to keep hold of him. Both his bites here occured when there was speculation that he wanted to move away as well. It's no coincidence. He's happy at Barca, so it's no surprise there have been no biting incidents there.
  16. Anfield HQ ‏@AnfieldHQ 22s22 seconds ago Alex Teixeira has told Shakhtar Donetsk he wants to join Liverpool. #lfc (SkySports)
  17. For someone who doesn't watch football and is "bored of it" you seem to have lot's of very strong (and incorrect) opinions about lots of players. Maybe you should only give your opinions on subjects you have some knowledge about, Tony my friend.
  18. You actually believe the owners wanted to sell Suarez? A year earlier when Arsenal made their 40mill and 1 pound bid they hid the fact that he had a 40 million pound release clause . They literally gambled that Arsenal wouldn't take them to court in order to keep Suarez at the club. Yes, it really sounds like they wanted to sell him. The fact is, it's Suarez who desperately wanted to leave and he probably would have killed Henry in his sleep if he didn't accept the Barca bid.
  19. Anfield HQ ‏@AnfieldHQ now #LFC are no closer to securing a deal for Alex Teixeira with a big gulf between what they are willing to pay & Shakhtar's valuation. (Echo) Shakhtar want 38 million pounds Anfield HQ ‏@AnfieldHQ 48s48 seconds ago Shakhtar are in no rush to sell their most prized asset, and hope that interest from elsewhere may spark a bidding war. #lfc (Echo) The Echo article also says that "LFC knew negotiating with Shakhtar would be difficult"
  20. Are people still crying about Sanchez? You can't force players to come play for your club as a condition of an ulterior transfer. We reportedly offered Barcelona more money and offered better wages than Arsenal did. The fact is, like any sensible human being, Sanchez wanted to be managed by Arsene Wenger rather than by Brendan Rodgers. And of course, he's been proven right in his decision.
  21. Sakho is good enough. People who think he's shit but rate Lovren - and even worse - who rate Skrtel are a bit stupid and its not even worth the explanation. The people who are like "Look at me, i'm a genius, I've always maintained he's been shit regardless of all the chants he gets" are a joke. Every single game there's a similar comment. I get it, you don't like him, pipe the fuck down. That being said, his problem is that he can't stay fit and then he's thrown back in with a different partner every time and the lack of continuity creates issues. Another month long injury and i'd think of selling him.
  22. Maybe the worst game of Ozil's career. He's been that bad.
  23. Anfield HQ ‏@AnfieldHQ 1m1 minute ago Alex Teixeira has agreed to personal terms with #LFC & the only issue left in the transfer is Shakhtar's decision to sell. (@FutbolUkraine)
  24. There may not be a more fraudulent manager in world football than Bobby Brown Shoes. Rodgers is close in the fraud stakes but he'd get better results than Martinez with this Everton team.
  25. Lucas has reached the point where he can only play well if he plays once a week or less. More than that and you're guaranteed an absolute nightmare game. Then after that he gets put back on the bench for a while and then a week later when he gets picked again he has a decent game. It's a continual cycle.
