  1. I dont pretend to know anything I don't know these days. But now it's pretty easy with sites like fbref to have an opinion or make a judgement on a player you may not have watched much of.
  2. Someone will buy Openda for a lot of money and he is a good player but we're not talking about someone special or especially complete. He isn't levels above Nunez or whoever we have and for all the criticizing we can do of our forwards, which I will gladly partake in, they're all still pretty effective players. To truly upgrade on any of them, it has to be someone who has an undeniable special talent, or that is good enough at everything that he could play pretty much every game for us. Last summer, perfect couldn't be the enemy of good when we were upgrading the midfield, but it's not the same with the forward line.
  3. Which part would that be? Getting past markers? Defending? Build up play? He is now turd at all of that. It's exclusively final pass and penalty area, where he is still excellent.
  4. He's not good in general play and will get worse. I don't see how that's remotely controversial. It's also balanced by the fact the other forwards stink and just his stats make him better than them. None of that is disrespectful towards him.
  5. We can keep playing him in the 11, wherever that is, but it should be with the understanding you probably have to sacrifice another attacking player somewhere to make up for it. The way City play so many attacking players, some of which like De Bruyne don't defend, is they basically play with 5 attacking players and 5 defensive players. There is still a balance of sorts.
  6. The missed catch was fucking dreadful and it's absolutely the type of thing that leads to conceding.
  7. It's not a good situation. His overall play is already not very good and it will get worse. Plus, his ego stuff which will probably rear its head with Slot. The ability to score and provide the final pass will probably stay and it makes him more valuable than the others, which is a direct criticism of the others, who we invested loads in. I think we're probably a bit stuck.
  8. I mean, it is literally that. You have to just eat less. Congrats (not so) big man.
  9. The 3-4-3 thing to me is so irrelevant. It think he just showed his ass with some of his negotiating tactics. Don't think he's very well advised.
  10. I think everyone has enough respect for his professionalism and knows it won't be about downing tools. It'll be about potentially carrying a passenger in the 11 when we're defending, off the ball, tactical considerations, stuff like that.
  11. I'm generally on the "he's useless" side, but he's winning me over a tiny bit. He does stuff in matches that's exciting. I don't think we need him and Jones, though. They aren't different enough and they're close to the same age. We might as well get rid of one of them.
  12. I think if we sign a 6 that performs, things will fall into place clearly.
  13. It's impossible to tell what we'll do, imo because I think the whole concept behind our attack is to have 5 of them who collectively kind of hide the individuals' weaknesses and presumably the person who came up with this in Klopp is leaving. And so with a new manager/board, what profiles we keep is kind of up in the air. Do Edwards/Hughes/Slot want to get rid of the striker with technical deficiencies, the winger who runs with his head down and can't finish, the forward who isn't much of a goal threat, the forward who isn't really a winger, nor lone striker who also misses 2 months every season. And then Salah is a seperate issue.
  14. I think Diaz could play with Ronaldo and he'd struggle to get 10 assists. He doesn't combine with anybody.
  15. If Nunez, Jota or Gakpo all stay, I don't see how the club justifies buying a striker. If Slot likes wide players, he's probably gonna want wingers, not to move one or some of those 3 out wide.
  16. He already sort of is playing behind the striker. His statistical profile has changed since Nunez got to the club. More progressive passes and he isn't taking players on out wide.
  17. I got Zoloft prescribed a month ago for my health anxiety and haven't started taking it yet because I'm scared of side effects. My brain is absolutely dusted.
  18. He wouldn't accept that and it's not a good use of 400k per week.
  19. I think we have to see who we'd sign and what the combinations of players we can put on the pitch are. With Mané-Firmino-Salah, you just knew it made sense. It's going to be way harder with Diaz and Nunez and their finishing, among other things is obviously a problem but the mindset if they're there has to be that it's a fresh start next season.
  20. If the system is good, you probably don't need someone who scores a million goals. You can spread the goals around. City before Haaland, Arsenal now.
  21. Son has 24 goals+assists. That's pretty much around what he does every season.
  22. The Arsenal thing is simple in terms of the squad; the front 4, including Odegaard, are all technically very good and work hard, and then the rest of the side is just big and nasty.
