  1. Welcome, Dejan. Didn't know where else to put this but I'm a bit concerned about this season. Hopefully Lovren will slot in and do the biz, but if he doesn't where does Rodgers go from there? Now that Rodgers has his new centre backs he'll need to show he can improve our defence without having too much of an impact on our attacking play. My concern is that this might not happen. If we continue to be leaky at the back then combined with the loss of Suarez it could be a long hard season. With lallana already injured I can't help thinking things are going to tricky for us this season and I'll be surprised if we're in contention for the title again.
  2. But it is a flimsy amount, disproportionate to the offence and does not deter future conduct of this type. Only criminal prosecutions would do that. £100m is no use to the tax payer after multi-billion pound bail outs.
  3. SUPPORT OUR TWOOPS. BRING THEM HOME. *like this*
  4. Well, have you seen them in the same room together?
  5. Not me but my Mum managed to do a Schumacher yesterday and fell backwards off an eight foot wall onto her head. She has fractured a bone in her lumber region but her head seems to be okay despite the large egg-sized lump on the back of it.
  6. Liverpool players Rickie Lambert and Lucas Leiva visit Dunkin' Donuts in Cambridge as part of their pre-season tour of America. Lucas Leiva is looking to put his summer of frustration behind him this pre-season and eventually force his way back into the Brazilian national squad in the process. The midfielder missed eight weeks of Liverpool’s title charge with a knee injury sustained in January. During his time on the sidelines, Brendan Rodgers switched to just one holding midfielder – Steven Gerrard – leading to speculation over Lucas’ future at Anfield. But Lucas, who was speaking at a Dunkin’ Donuts event in Boston, is just focusing on pre-season - and says he and his team-mates are concentrating on completing the perfect preparations. “The main thing is that we’re getting back to fitness - that’s the main thing of the pre-season and try to enjoy the games,” Lucas told the ECHO. “It’s always the same talk at the beginning of the season “Expectations are so high it’s quite early to set targets and we just have to get a good pre-season and see how we work.” Luiz Felipe Scolari omitted Lucas from the Brazilian World Cup squad after starting just three games following his knee injury. “I know pretty much know the reason why I didn’t go to the World Cup - the last six months were not the best for me, I didn’t play as much as I would have liked to and that’s probably what cost me the World Cup place.” Scolari left the Brazilian national side after a humiliating semi-final exit by Germany, with former boss Dunga taking charge for the second time. “Dunga is back, I played a lot of games with him and the Olympics in 2008, and at the moment I don’t really think about it,” added Lucas. “I’m just thinking about the pre-season and to be fit, and then we see how it will go. Lucas has started all three games in this summer’s pre-season, including Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Roma at Fenway Park. “People were so excited and were looking forward to the game, there was a full stadium and that’s the main thing,” said the Brazilian. “Of course the result was not what we wanted but it was our first game and we’re still a way from full fitness, but there were some positive things. “I’ve never been to Chicago so it is going to be good, and another game for the players to get minutes and get ready for the beginning of the season.” Rodgers has brought in four new signings so far this summer, including £10m man Emre Can – a player who will provide Lucas competition in the first team - and Lucas was quick to praise the Germany U-21 international. “Rickie [Lambert] and Adam [Lallana] don’t have the problem with the language since they came from Southampton and are pretty much settled. Lazar and Emre are young but they’re really looking forward to the new season. “Emre seems to very nice and is a guy who wants to run and improve his game, he’s very young and hopefully he will be a very good signing for the club.” Lucas also spoke fondly of club and country team-mate Philippe Coutinho, who also missed out on a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad. The midfielder believes Coutinho will become one of Brazil’s most important players at the next World Cup, and is set for another stellar season at Anfield. Lucas said: “He keeps improving, and we will have a bigger diamond, because he can develop a lot more. “He is a player who is always working hard, especially physically he’s improving as well, and being more aggressive to help him cope with the Premier League.”
  7. Mad all this plane stuff that's going on, innit?
  8. Try online gaming or a forum for a team you might follow?
  9. Best thread on the internet.
  10. He specifically said it cost tree fiddy to send both pairs. Tree fiddy for two. And it is funny.
  11. He said the postage was tree fiddy a few pages back.
  12. Only because of a perceived injustice (double postage). It people start being a cunt there's usually a reason for it. Would you risk negative feedback on your profile for tree fiddy? Would you charge double postage in the first place? I'm not saying the buyer is right, just that there are other considerations.
  13. Hehe. You said "wood". Here are five reasons why we might do a Spurs:- 1. The goals might dry up It's not just the goals Suarez scored; it's everything else he brought to the par-tay. The assists, the penalties and free kicks he won, the general all round genius, the interplay with Sturridge, the ability to occupy three defenders and create space for others. He was an absolute nightmare to play against. When he was on the pitch we knew we had the upper hand over almost every team we played because they didn't have a player like him. 2. Spreading the cash too thinly It looks like a quantity over quality approach from the Reds this summer (obviously we are hoping for both), but so far it's arguable that none of the acquired players will have the desired impact in the terms of elevating Liverpool to Champions League and Premier League contenders (with perhaps the exception of Markovic, who transfer experts would tell you has a "high ceiling"). Liverpool have struggled to sign establish star players under FSG, a theme which has continued this summer despite the guaranteed arrival of Champions League football by virtue of a second place finish. 3. Daniel Sturridge Lethal on his day but too often injured. Such is his reliance on raw pace he will need to be fit for the whole campaign if he is to manage 30 league goals. Add in the demands of Champions League football and meaningless England games and... 4. Chronic Defensive Issues It doesn't matter how many we get at the other end if we don't sort this out soon. With Suarez around it didn't matter as much, as so often he would be the difference either by scoring himself, providing a flash of genius to set up a team mate or by winning a penalty. In tight games we have lost that luxury unless someone else steps up to the plate or the team as a whole gel quickly. 5. I can't think of anything else Other teams will strengthen considerably etc. I'm bored of this now.
