  1. Yeah and I doubt Stevie wants to come back yet. I'm sure moving abroad, a new lifestyle, more anonymity etc. appealed to him when deciding to move to the USA. I don't think he was forced out but Stevie probably wanted a few years out of the maelstrom of Liverpool FC. He'll be back, but not for a few years.
  2. Jurgen has a tricky start in the league. Away to Spurs, home to Saints, away to Chelsea, home to Palace, away to City... While I'm enthusiastic about Klopp's arrival, we'll need to show patience and not expect instance results. If we finish in the top 5 this season it would be a good first season for the new boss.
  3. Wales just need a point tonight away to Bosnia to qualify for the Euro's. Would like to see them do it but wouldn't be shocked to see them bottle it. Massive pressure on them tonight.
  4. Frankly, we should all be a little grateful to Ayre for helping to get rid off Hicks and Gillett.
  5. It's a good piece but understates the role of Suarez. He not only scored 31 goals in 33 matches, but made 14 assists and was involved in almost every goal we scored. Players were enhanced playing with him. His runs, his passing, his work rate and interplay with the other attacking players was the key to the success of that team. Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge, Gerrard, Henderson all were brilliant during those glorious 6 months and while Rodgers did well enough to get them into positions they were comfortable in, it was Suarez that made them all tick. Suarez was a genius playing the best football of his life. He'll never have a better individual season.
  6. Well, hopefully this comes off although I have my doubts. I don't see him agreeing to work under this transfer committee. A yes-man like Rodgers is one thing but a proven winner and strong personality like Klopp is something else.
  7. I usually think he's full of shit but Ian Wright was bang on about Rodgers on MOTD2 last night. Summed it up well compared with the hot air other 'pundits' have been coming out with. edit - wrong thread. Anyway, I'm still hoping for Ancelotti. I like the man too, nice guy and a winner. Go get him, FSG.
  8. What does he want a pay-off? He's failed in his job, we were right to dismiss him. His failure should not be rewarded with compo. Look at Advocaat, left Sunderland without asking for any money.
  9. I'm glad he's gone but I wish him all the best. Thanks for 2013/14.
  10. Well FSG have finally acted, they should have done so in the summer but better late than never. Now time to stop messing about and go out and hire a proven, top class manager no mater what the cost. Ancelotti has got to be the top target, followed by Klopp. They may not be interested but we should find out by making them an offer. No more unproven, potentially good managers.

    Gone

Finally. Here's to a new start.
  12. If we can manage to hold on to a lead this season we should give Brendan a job for life.
  13. Why doesn't Brendan take Europe seriously? FFS, we are 5 times winners of the European Cup, 3 times winners of the UEFA Cup and Brendan treats these competitions like shit. Our results, performances and team selections in Europe with Rodgers have been shocking.
  14. In 2 seasons Rodgers has taken a club that was a once famous and feared name in European football and has turned us into a fucking joke on the continent. If anything depresses me more than our league performances, it's our fucking disgraceful efforts in Europe.
  15. Why the fuck can't we score more than one fucking goal? And why is it when we manage the herculean task of scoring one goal, can we not hold onto the lead? What a shambles.
  16. Yeah agree with Kilbane, he summed it up well enough except that 2nd place wasn't a "massive failure". But he's spot on about Rodgers. That TV show really showed up Brendan for the egotists that he is. That big self-portrait he has of himself was just so cringe-worthy. There was a BBC documentary about Maradona not long ago with Lineker visiting his house in Argentina. There Diego had a little framed picture of himself holding the World Cup he won for his country. In Brendan's house, he's got this on his wall:
  17. Rodgers needs the brilliance of individuals to save his skin. He'll be praying Sturridge and Coutinho remain fit.
  18. What, you mean all FIVE games that he missed that season? What about the 33 he took part in, in which he scored 31 times, made 14 assists and was involved in almost every other goal that we scored?
  19. Ha this is weird. This is a comment I made in another thread, looks like it caused a glitch and it's being posted (inadvertently?) by other posters in random threads. What's a 12 year old thread about Boumsong got to do with Mazzarri? Strange forum behviour!
  20. Um, what is going on with this quote??? I posted this comment in another thread and I've seen it copied verbatim in other threads by random posters. It did double post on me, has it glitched the forum? Weird.
  21. FSG have got to be out of their fucking minds if this stuff about Mazzarri is true. Klopp or Ancelotti have got to be our targets. Not a failure from Serie A.
  22. FSG have got to be out of their fucking minds if this stuff about Mazzarri is true. Klopp or Ancelotti have got to be our targets. Not a failure from Serie A.
  23. I doubt either Ancelotti or Klopp would join us knowing the imbeciles in the "transfer committee" decide which players to sign.
  24. Agreed but it'll never happen. If UEFA ever contemplated that the clubs will simply form the European Super League they've threatened UEFA with in the past which will make the European Cup redundant.
