  1. And now for something completely bullshit.
  2. Levon Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me Tony Danza Your Song Burn Down the Mission
  3. "A source tells me Dominic Cummings has a secret twin who traveled around the country getting medicine for him and his family during his battle with covid 19." Laura Kuenssberg
  4. Looper They should make more movies like this. 8 of 10
  5. If it's not iambic pentameter, it's crap. Nature seems to have inspired many of the better known poets. Shall I comare thee to a summer's day...etc
  6. It looks like--though I can't find the link where I read it last night--that at some point he prevented the victim from escaping. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/ahaud-arbery-video-murder-arrest-1.5579499
  7. The Mire Polish-language murder mystery, set in the '80s. By-the-numbers, but I enjoyed it. 7 of 10
  8. The Beckoning Silence A documentary in which the survivor of the first movie travels to the Eiger to look at the factual events on which the second movie is based. Does a decent job of telling the true story of what happened. 7 of 10 ________________________________ I'm with both of the above re: Red Dragon. The original was great, it's my favourite of all the movies based on his books. And I do think it's due to the book, as it was head and shoulders better than any of the later books. Dolarhyde is a excellent character.
  9. I don't recall having asked you about homosexuality. I asked you if you believed that the next Muslim person you meet is likely to believe in FGM and honour killing.
  10. Touching the Void As others have mentioned, an amazing story of human survival. 9 of 10 It's a great book, as well. North Face Dramatized story of a 1930's attempt to climb the north face of the Eiger. Takes some (unnecessary) licence with the facts, but a decent effort. 7 of 10
  11. But what are "Muslims as a group" but all individual Muslims taken together? So you still contend that the next Muslim person you meet is likely to believe in FGM and honour killing.
  12. Get along? This is the religion thread. More chance on the "Beans on a fry-up" thread.
  13. Not "possible", "likely". Do you actually think that the next Muslim person you meet is likely to believe in FGM and honour killing?
  14. Oh, I'm aware it happens. But do you actually think that the next Muslim person you meet is likely to believe in FGM and honour killing?
  15. Every fall at first snow we go out and burn logging debris. After a few hours you look around at the inferno you've created--it's a bit like "napalm in the morning", actually. I think I'm a bit of a pyromaniac.
  16. Does anyone actually think that the next Muslim person they meet is likely to believe in FGM and honour killing? I don't live in the UK, and perhaps things are different over there, but from here in Canada I can't say that notion has ever entered my head.
  17. Ask Tim Farron. https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/whats-tim-farrons-track-record-on-lgbt-rights Kudos to Farron for having the courage of his convictions: it's one thing to answer a question in a newspaper survey, it's quite another to repeatedly vote in Parliament for actual legal restrictions to, or against expansion of, LGTBQ rights.
  18. Are they starting up schools full bore, or starting with part-time, or having part classes a couple days a week, etc? A gradual approach, as a means to limit the potential negative effects, while gathering information on how best to go forward/prepare for the (autumn).
  19. I could have posted this in the Coronavirus thread or the Trump thread, but it works here as well: Trump ‘Spiritual Adviser’ Paula White Does Queen Bee Dance to Conjure End to the Coronavirus Pandemic
  20. By that token, you'd think you wouldn't want to engage with religion.
