  1. What is it with black folk and looting? First Katrina, now the Tottenham riots. This is a very bad reflection on the Afro-Caribbean community of London. Okay it wasn't just blacks, Turks, Albanians and other assorted ethnicities as well as white chavs were also involved. But the TV pictures were pretty damning and captured mainly black youths running amok
  2. Please tell me you're not serious with that statement?
  3. The death penalty does not belong in any civilised society. Surely there are more pressing matters for the MPs to debate than this? Capital punishment will never be restored in this country. Not unless there's some sort of violent revolution that brings a dictator to power.
  4. Just a bunch of violent troublemakers causing havoc. They're burning cars and breaking into shops. These are not exactly civil protesters. And why are they going mental? Because the police shot dead a known gangster who shot first at a policeman. The police should be given carte blanche to crack some skulls with their batons IMO.
  5. I always look forward to the new season with Liverpool. It's been boring as hell without the footie. My spirits have been a bit dampened with Gerrard not being fit... and maybe a few pricey signings which have left me underwhelmed... but still excited about next season.
  6. People pitying Japan should realise just how ruthless they were during the war. They would have stopped at nothing to achieve their aims of total domination in Asia. They slaughtered millions of civilians across Asia. They had no regard for human life. If they had the atom bomb they would have no qualms about using it against any or all of their enemies. It might not be a PC thing to say but the world has turned out a better place for it. Or would you have preferred Japan to prevail in this conflict? Japan has done alright since the end of the war, so things have turned out okay for the Japs, and the world at large.
  7. We need this signing to come off. He's far better than any option we have at left-back. Very comfortable with the ball and would provide good width along with Downing on our left flank. If he is to come I just hope its for a sensible fee. Knowing the geordies, they realise they fleeced us once before and will try again.
  8. Yes, it was justified. It ended the war, after all. Otherwise the allies would have been forced to just fire bomb the crap out of Japan which would have ended up killing more Japs. And an invasion of Japan would have cost a catastrophic number of lives on both sides. Besides, Japan started the damn war in the first place, can't very well have too many complaints about how it was ended.
  9. Ridiculous. Henchoz was quite good but Carra has been much, much better.
  10. Why is Carra being scape-goated these days? What an insult to the man. Of course he will be captain in Gerrard's absence. Pepe as vice-captain.
  11. Well he can't have had such an affinity for Barca since he ditched them when he was a kid and thanks to Arsenal he's developed into a top player. And a multimillionaire. And now he wants to head back to the club he turned his back on? I say Arsenal should tell Barca to do one and sell him to Real instead.
  12. We haven't got Enrique yet...
  13. Carra's got a few more years left in him yet. I would still have him as first choice along with Agger.
  14. My sentiments exactly. I would rep you if I could. We will remain a 2 man team for the foreseeable future. If Gerrard and Suarez are out, we won't beat the top sides. If we can keep them both fit and in form throughout the whole season, only then will we have a real chance of making the top 4. The other players just don't cut it when it comes to challenging the top 4.
  15. That's my worry too. And more worrying, English clubs would be chasing him too.
  16. So? What's wrong with my underlying opinions? I don't rate British players (except a handful - none of whom we've signed, mind you) and I don't rate Comolli. Hardly a crime against God now, is it?
  17. The owners have the right to expect a top 4 finish after seeing us spend so heavily. If we fail to achieve our target of a top 4 finish then I would expect either Kenny or the man who spent most of the 100 million, that being Damien Comolli, to get the chop. Hopefully it will be the latter.
  18. A decent British midfielder has been made available? Comolli is preparing a £20M+ bid as we speak. Someone tell him Barton is actually available on a free...
  19. I was kinda joking (whilst using a line from a lame movie) but the longer we dilly dally over what we're going to do, and while the shite and especially the council continue to harass us to accept ground share, there's a danger we might entertain the idea. Kenny supports a potential shared stadium with Everton and that's all the encouragement the pro-share party needs. We need to nip this in the bud asap by moving ahead with our own plans for our own stadium/redevelopment of Anfield. The longer this drags on, the more I fear we might end up sharing with the BS.
  20. I thought we stopped ground share? No, we only postponed it. Ground share is inevitable.
  21. I'd bang her. And would then rob her, the billionairess slag.
  22. Hence the "thanks for the 'neg'" response. That's correct, NONE of them are long term replacements for Gerrard. They're not in the same league as him. But then few midfielders are.
  23. Where is the 'shit' slinging? I just happen to think none of our midfielders can replace Gerrard. We're talking about one of the best midfielders in the world, not many players could replace him. And for stating this fact I'm getting negged. Bollocks to that.
