Amorebieta's agent confirms the Liverpool offer SERGI FONT. BARCELONA 07/27/2012 PrintSend Fernando Amorebieta is currently only thinking about Athletic de Bilbao. This according to the message transmitted from inside the footballer's camp. The company representing him, Football Management 04, confirmed to MARCA on Friday that Liverpool was interested in signing him, as was previously reported in the MARCA newspaper. However, his agents also wanted to make it clear that Amorebieta's preference is to stay at the Basque club. "There is a clear wish on the part of the player to continue his association with Athletic and, even, see out his career in San Mamés. However, his good season has attracted interest from several teams, one of which is Liverpool", they explained. In fact, they commented that the English club "is the one that has shown the most interest up to now". Athletic de Bilbao does not want to let the Venezuelan go, but has the slight disadvantage that Amorebieta's contract is up on 30th June 2013. As a result "negotiations have begun", Football Management 04 admitted. What is also clear is that neither party wants long, drawn out talks.

I actually think he walked himself. Many of the players they had at that time were on loan, (Granero among others) and it wasnt possible to keep hold of them. So he was going to start from 'zero' in what should have been his second season.

And a Copa Del Rey final. Not that it makes him good enough, at all. But still an achievement when you consider it was for Getafe.

Fair enough!! I guess we see football very different then and just have to disagree. I just can't see where you get his defensive approach from??? He's been trained by Cryuff and played at both Barca and Madrid, which i would suggest is an offensive approach. He played in italy, but didnt enjoy it... AT ALL!! So to me he can only approach the game in one way... And of course take into account what his squad is capable of. And i'm not sure my self that i want him as our manager, but I really disagree that he is playing boring footy... Or defensive minded football.

To be fair FCK's side is packed with internationals and is far more superior in there spending. Which was the same case when Laudrup was manager at Brøndby... But as I recall Brøndbys wasn't full of internationals (correct me if i'm wrong - pretty long time ago:). And at Brøndby they played a really nice game of footy with Laudrup. And pretty much every manager has been sacked in their career (in recent times anyway)... Even Del Bosque when he 'only' managed to win the CL. Van Gaal almost got sacked at Bayern last season. You know how that went for them... Sometimes it is a lottery or just stupidity. But he is definitely trying to play attractive-attacking football!! But im sure he knows his attacking options are very limited. So it's pretty obvious that he's not going all out attack when you manage Getafe and Mallorca. And I think it was only 5 points which seperated Schusters and Laudrups seasons... In Schusters favour that is. Getafe and Laudrup also had a long spell in the uefa cup, which (i believe) has played a big part.

This... Is absolute rubbish. I don't know what You would expect of Getafe and Mallorca with Laudrup in charge??? The money he has had at his disposal at both clubs has been pretty much near zero. Still he has managed to get both teams in the top half of the table even though everyone expected Mallorca to be en the relegation zone this season (Mallorca is currently placed sixth. Above A. Madrid and Sevilla by the way). He was VERY unlucky with Getafe against Bayern in the Uefa cup semis I think it was. They got knocked out by a stupid goalie mistake... And as I recall Mallorca has taken points off both Barca and Madrid this season. Maybe not by playing them off the park. But again, what to expect??? As for FCK... Not much to say. They should play the best football in Denmark with that squad, no doubt!! I think Laudrup could get the same results with FCK. Not the other way around. My point of view anyway...
