  1. I know he was a lead, I just don't think he was a good one. None of the the films mentioned, to me, were that good.
  2. Things I've seen on public transport?? I live in Cornwall, I rarely see public transport. Metropolitan elites.
  3. Donnie Brasco he was a support actor. He didn't live up to his name, good, but not a lead.
  4. Al Pacino Sorry, but everything after Godfather 2.
  5. This thing about parking for school pick up. Its down to school testing, you've got parents sending their kids across town because 1 particular school rates higher that year than others. The next year its dropped down the rankings so they all move their kids. Make kids go to their local schools. That's what we did.
  6. He's since turned his life around and just came runner up in the world darts
  7. I used to collect trolleys in a supermarket car park you cunt.
  8. I have and it is clear.
  9. You are happy for the Tories to sign up to a OECD scheme which includes enforcing taxation on poor people selling stuff on the side.
  10. The UK chose to sign up to this, well, the Tories did. You are confident that the Tories didn't sign up in order to be able to tax poor people and even if they tried HMRC would make sure they didn't, but the Tories wont anyway because its an election year. Its a genuine Tory attempt to get after proper tax evaders. That's a fair reflection of your view?
  11. Ok, the tories have signed up to be able to tax people on anything they sell over £1k. Not HMRC but the tories. They have the right, using the OCED as an excuse, to go after anyone. You dont think they will.

Yes you are, rightly so, but I'm not to be fucked at. You'd do well to show respect.
  13. I really cant believe I'm reading this, you of all people. You actually trust the tories.
  14. While HMRC was already able to request information from UK-based online operators, from the start of this year there are new rules that the UK has signed up to via the international body, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), as part of a global effort to clamp down on tax dodgers When it says the UK has signed up , who do you think they mean, who is the UK? The government said the new rules would help it "bear down on tax evasion", as sellers on digital platforms would now be treated more like traditional businesses. Jumper sellers? The only thing that is changing is that the HMRC will have easier access to information about people's taxable income. That's it. What do you think the tories will do with this information?
  15. I wouldn't do it either

Clearly it was aimed at the comments in the darts thread about their feelings about darts fans. Fuck all to do with Liverpool fans at the football. You'd do well to remember that I have run many companies, own many houses and have had many fights, plenty of them at Otterspool. Just saying
  17. You don't seem to have any idea about how some people on low incomes survive. This OECD thing that the Tories are now looking to enforce doesn't require a change in the law, its already there. The Tories are choosing to pick it up and as part of it go after the poor. They can hide behind the OECD. I cant believe you cant see this. Forget the 20k a year you are now saying it should be, or that you'd be surprised if they went after jumper sellers, it is £1k a year for anything people sell. Its the tories clamping down on the poor and its me that's having to explain it to you.
  18. No, I argued that negotiating a price isn't ripping people off. But there could be scenarios that negotiating with a charity shop is fair enough. Imagine a young couple without much money looking to get married and she sees a wedding dress in a charity shop for £300 (it does happen). She offers £250, is she a cunt?
  19. Imagine the bureaucracy required to police this. As you've pointed out, the £1k is an annual allowance not per transaction. I cant believe that anyone who considers themselves left wing would want to introduce a system such as this which is aimed at the poorest. (not the airbnb bit)
  20. Its still impossible to enforce and I'm sure there are many ways around this, multiple accounts, addresses etc. Also there is the car boot market. More importantly for me, is that its not fair, I could come up with loads of case studies where taxing somebody on the sale of items would just not be right. The tax emphasise should be for those at the top end, not on those who need to make a few extra quid to supplement low wages or benefits.
  21. Go to a car boot sale and i'm sure there are loads doing the same. These people are usually at the bottom of the economic ladder, I just think resources need to be used for the dodgers at the top which would bring in far more tax revenue. Just imagine how many tax inspectors would be required to cover all of this nationwide, let alone the ebay, auction, vinted, facebook etc. sellers. Hark at me wanting to defend/turn blind eye to the poor and attack the rich.
  22. Agreed, up until recently have been competing with holiday let businesses (me) without any health and safety requirements or tax burdens.
  23. Many charity shops get inundated with stock and need to keep things moving through which is why they will negotiate. Like you, I wouldn't try to get prices knocked down but I can see scenarios where some might.
  24. People who negotiate a price are not ripping people off.
  25. It will never be policed and the vast majority will not pay. It might bring some revenue from ultra honest people like you but not enough to make much of a difference.
