I'm afraid our beloved Torres is starting to come across as a mercenary. He needs to get his ass back to LFC and get on with it. He has a contract no? Whats the problem? We need him to stay fit and score us some goals and help the team. If his only concern is that he wins trophies (remember he has just won the WORLD CUP !) then he should fuck off to Man City or Chelsea. He should show some loyalty to us though because playing for LFC is what has raised his profile and given him a bigger rep. He wasn't a 60 million player when he joined us was he?

Its always disappointing to lose but it was good experience for the players and gives Roy a chance to see them in competitive action. Like it or not these players are the 2nd team. They need to gel and granted it may not be pretty at the moment but the season has to start somewhere. No points lost. End of.

Go for Prem title (!) and Champions League place. We can have Europa next year if we don't get a CL place this season. Play the younger lads and see who shines in these games, then give them a go in premiership matches.

I don't think Roy is necessarily a cornish. Whoever came in would be in the same situation. 'Don't hate the player , hate the game', as they say. As long as Roy can get us playing some watchable footy instead of the awful shting shite that we had to endure last season I expect most of us will be reasonably happy. We will probably see a few more cycles of selling our outstanding players for a profit even when get new owners. It may be something we have to unfortunately get used to until our massive debt can get sorted. It doesn't have to mean we cant still be competitive though. Just look at Atletico Madrid. They sold Torres to us and yet they have regenerated and as we all know they had decent season last year. I wouldn't mind having Forlan in our team right now either. If they get a huge bid for him they will most likely sell him and get another striker. We have a huge debt. Our survival is key.

Give Lucas a season under Roy's direction and see how things look then. No point selling him yet.

As regards Torres, i still think he will leave but i'm hoping that his (so far) abysmal world cup form will keep him at LFC out of hurt pride.
