Indeed. It is a variant of 3-4-3. The other way is to have 2 upfront in a more out and out attacking style. Pep Guardiola is using the same system as us. Last season when we had 2 upfront we were generally using a 4-4-2 diamond.

3-5-2 plays very differently to 3-4-3.

We did not play a similar formation last season. Pep used it at Barca first and is now using it at Bayern. Brendan is a big fan of Pep's work.
