    I VE got f.a level 1 coaching badge and i run 2 sunday league teams under 10's and under 12's and i try to get both sides passing the ball around sometimed they over pass it u10's side try to "walk" it in but weve told the kids sometimes you can go a bit more direct they still "OVER PASS IT" they enjoy playing that way problem is there are a hell of alot of teams out there who have 2 very quick (not always good) strikers and a tall powerful kid at the back who lumps it forward 2 strikers leg it and 8/10 times get on the end of it!! it has to come down to the coaches,the u10's finishd 5th out of 14 in our league we had the best midfielder in the league(official) the teams who finished top 2 were long ball teams so to speak its not the way f.a teach it i was given coaching manuels/dvd by the f.a whilst doing my course and 95% of the coaching games is based on 1or2 touch football,how to shoot/pass/dribble there is a few "games" that are based on power and pace not many though so again the coaches/scouts must be told by managers/club coaching staff to look for pace/power before technique Originally Posted by Dicko Basically kids in this country are taught to win before they are taught to play you are right mate unfortunately you see managers on saturday/sunday mornings screaming at 11-15 year olds for missing a tackle or shooting wide it makes you think does the manager want to win more than the kids if so there are totally wrong and f.a need to "up"its levels to make sure you dont just turn up to get your level 1 'cos some people just do

    I agree i think in the past players moved abroad because they could earn more money i read some where wilkins said thats why he went to Italy just for money he learnt alot whilst there but at first it was money,now its the premier league that has the big wages and i think some not all, young players now crave the money and fame of being a premier league player/squad player rather than being a great player,they can get £5,000-£10,000 p/w from a young age fast cars model girlfriends rather than being a first team regular, learning their trade at a lesser club/league, in spain the bigger teams have B sides playing in lower leagues maybe this could be the way to go otherwise 10-15 years time there wont be many(if any) world class young English players coming through which is worrying really.Is it a case of "i'm here now fuck the next generation of players"because eventually (hopefully not but) the premier league will not be the league to be in any longer then all young players will want to move abroad "for new experience's and to try a new culture"ie more money

    I was saying something similar the other day don't recon he'd "flop" i just think when we look dead and buried (istanbul,cardiff final)Gerrard finds that extra 10-20% to drag us on by the scruff of our necks because he's a scouser because he's a Liverpool fan at a different club i dont think he would find that bit extra cos in the back of his mind its not Liverpool (and i dont mean that dis- respectably he is a great player ) hoping he will stay though

    Do they pay £1000's of pounds to watch their kids? if they did then they would have every rite to but were not talking about sunday league teams who play for fun are we!! were talking about multi-millionaires who play(dont play depends on how you view last nite) for more money in 1 week than average people earn in 2 years the booing took place after the game not during so they backed their team all match and showed at the end they didnt like what they saw fair enough in my book I run 2 kids football teams by the way i probably would have boo'd if i'd been there last nite But i wouldn't dream of booing my kids teams just using it to prove the differance in the money involved
