    I think part or all of our problems stem from our failings in our back four an keeper. The natural thing to do when u are shipping more goals than Manchester has inbreds is to drop back deeper an deeper until you are defending nearly on top of your keeper. This invariably leads to midfield dropping off too an all of a sudden it's engrained in the players minds to be more defensive than they should and not going out and expressing themselves and imposing themselves on the game. It's no secret that you get your rewards for flooding the oppositions box and benefitting from deflections and fouls in an around the penalty area. How many times have seen the manc bastards scoring deflected goals and getting most of the decisions , it's not rocket science. That's how they are running away with league with one of their worst teams in recent years. I'm not too inclined in singling anyone out for our failings but it just seems like half our starting team have no balls and are afraid of making mistakes. We need to be signing more players who actually have a belief and confidence in what they are doing . Can't rely on carra stevie and suarez forever. Last note , the return leg could be carra's last ever European game to play in So lets hope anfield is fucking rocking an we will show the russkies a fucking atmosphere !

    Well said . Fuck maggie thatcher....we r gonna have a party , when Alex ferguson dies. Has a nice ring to it Back to luiz I think he thrives on controversy and the more abuse he gets the harder he tries , it would be nice to hear more from the club coming out and backing him.

    Where is all this Suarez business going to end ? It's an interesting topic at the moment , with the diving accusations and extremely questionable refereeing decisions that go against him . I'm just wondering what is our fans opinions on a solution to the situation ? Do we keep going and putting up wit everything or do we decide to cut our losses and cash in ? I'm thinking our manager might be inclined to go with the latter , just for an easier life . I'd be disappointed if that happened but at the minute referees seem to take pleasure in going against us . Ultimately what is the best realistic outcome for the club ??

    I am in total agreement with u dave , kenny should be given another season to get us back on track, his legendary status deserves that at the very least. You can easily categorize us as fans into the sky generation of knee jerk fans , or the patient ones who realize it won't happen overnight And I'm inclined to think that myself and yourself are in the latter !

    This was the highlight of the match for me, aside from the two goals. Delighted to see jay get another start after a great performance in the derby He was very accomplished on the ball and never panics in tight situations and deserves to keep his place in the side now

    Martin Kelly shades it for me , not much in it though If fit I'd still have glen Johnson in the team in right mid-field Both are good going forward and both can defend too

    Thanks dave, another great report. Agreed with everything, but especially the piece at the end where the only way we can forget about the last few weeks is by progressing in both cups and putting together a winning run in the league. Maybe a silver lining to take from all this is it might galvanize the squad an create a siege mentality. No one will do any favours for us and what we need now is to be ruthless.
