Would you have a British Manager to manage Liverpool?
trefoil replied to WhiskeyJar's topic in FF - Football Forum
No one else reckon Gary Mac would be good manager for us then? -

I agree, wouldn't have him for us, still think he's a good manager though -

not fishing, my Grandad supports Preston so I follow them a bit and remember him getting promotion with them twice, was unfortunate that he went to Everton but you cant deny what he's done there has been excellent with limited resources -

I agree on Roy Hodgson, probably the best British manager we could get Gary Mac would be good aswell I reckon David Moyes is a brilliant manager -
Who has performed consistently well this season?
trefoil replied to silverlining's topic in FF - Football Forum
Benayoun has been consistently good in my opinion, I dont think Johnson has done enough to warrant the title of "consistent", same would apply to Agger -
kuyt has the touch of a rapist and the other players are starting to realise it, they wont give him the ball because they know he'll lose it and if they do give it him he loses it anyway

Years of falling behind are catching up with us

when thats the price range you have to aim for though its going to be a lot harder to find players good enough for Liverpool, its not like you can say Riera was a shit buy when we could of had Silva for the same price instead is it. We're buying players at a price range the likes of Spurs and Villa have been buying equal to and above but we still finish ahead of them -

it must be easy being a pundit, theres a general idea that gets thrown around and you just spout something that agrees with it. One person talks about zonal marking, next time a goal goes in from a corner a million voices echo it, one person says Rafa is in trouble a million voices echo it. They seriously need to do some work of their own

it still kills me to think we were one signature away (probs not entirely true but I like to think so) from the unlimited funds of DIC, but Moores went with his extra £500 a share. If we'd took the arab deal a new stadium would be irrelevent, but we'd probably have a fucking amazing one anyway. -
Why are we too loyal too our managers?
trefoil replied to old skool tom's topic in FF - Football Forum
same with Paisley, once had to publicly ask the fans to stop being bellends and get behind the team, I think we were 5th at the time and went on to win the league (this isnt going off memory like just off history videos and that) -
"Dirk Kuyt says..." / "Jamie Carragher says"..
trefoil replied to rEddie's topic in FF - Football Forum
that comment about Kuyt not being able to tackle without dragging the man down could be applied to Carra this season, and there's no disguising the fact Kuyt has the touch of a rapist I think they should conduct themselves more like Benayoun, he's brilliant ont he pitch and in interviews -

take the two longest standing members of the "big four", Arsenal and Man United, coincidently have the longest serving managers -

Best Game At Anfield You've Attended ?
trefoil replied to The Celtic Way's topic in FF - Football Forum
I missed the 05 semi because I was at a wedding in Ireland, thats one of my biggest regrets missing that and also regret missing Roma in 2001 but that was because the club fucked up and sent us 1 ticket when we asked for 2, and by the time they'd sent it and we rang to tell them the mistake they'd sold out, was fuming about that for ages -

Liverpool 1 - 0 Manchester United FA cup 2006, we'd been beaten at their place not long before and Neville had done his celebration infront of our fans so the atmosphere was hot, plus we hadnt beaten them in the FA cup for something like 85 years. Kewell took Neville out in the first few minutes and we celebrated like we'd scored, Crouch got the winner, amazing atmosphere -

when we bought the pair of Le Tallec and Pongolle I instantly loved Pongolle, I wish we'd kept him, could never see anything in Le Tallec though

he's not used to that many games because they're never in Europe, and anyway, looking at that team any team with Neill in deserves everything it gets

The moment you fell in love with Liverpool FC
trefoil replied to Paulie Dangerously's topic in FF - Football Forum
my first game was vs West Ham in the 94/5 season but I cant remember it too well being 5, I dont remember if I went to any between then and going the 96 cup final but I remember the heartache of that being one of my first experiences following Liverpool, so it's hard to pinpoint why I fell in love with Liverpool, it just felt like thats who I was born to support and I naturally started following them. -
the reason it wasnt covered on tv was due to a strike at the time wasnt it? I felt the goal was a bit of a let down personally, not because it wasnt great just because I was always told it went in from about 40 yards, if I'd always been told he ran 40 yards and scored from 20 then it would of been more accurate.
