  1. Try Heart Internet. That's my regular, and never a hitch. Cheap, too.
  2. Just an opinion, obviously, but I'd be tempted to save my money for something much better. What seems a good deal now, won't be as time goes by. Sony may think they've made inroads into the market, but they really haven't. I wouldn't look past Nikon or Canon. You may pay a little more, but you'll always pick up decent lenses at decent prices, not to mention all the other accessories you may find yourself longing for. Pick up a second hand Nikon d90 for under 500 quid, you won't regret it. I still occasionally use a 7 year old d70 as a backup, and it performs admirably.
  3. I haven't seen it on the telly yet but, having watched it as it happened, it makes me think the question should be "How the fuck that cunt got a first yellow, when there was absolutely no contact, is a mystery". You wont find me defending Gary Caldwell very often, but there was nothing in that first yellow, apart from an expensive Uruguayan footballer going down like a cheap Kensington brass.
  4. You haven't actually said what the problem is. Is it a corrupt file error, a codec error? You need to be more specific. What file format are you trying to stream? I'm also confused by the last paragraph of your 2nd post. You say the xbox gives an error, but then say you're not playing it via the xbox. You need to clarify exactly what you are doing.
  5. Is it a project you've decided to do, or are you just wanting to run a website. If the latter, have you considered an existing CMS? There are tons available and, as they say, originality is better but plagiarism is faster. If it's that you really want to do it yourself, expect months and years of graft. Even once you think you've done it, there'll be a million security issues to deal with, as well as functionality issues. Look at other CMS' to see how they do it.
  6. A euphemism, to be sure. A bit like "I finally got the kitchen tap to stop dripping. The wife was so pleased, she suggested we take a trip to Hampton Court Palace".
  7. Agreed. It's impossible to deny what the league table says, in terms of getting results, but they still play fuckin awful hoofitandsee football. We played them at the DW the other week, and they are still a team full of cloggers, with the finesse of a rapist. Oh, and Kevin Davies is the biggest cunt currently playing football. Well, 2nd, perhaps, after Ashley Cole.
  8. I think I missed him because he's invisible when a ball gets into the box.
  9. I wish I could say I was happy that we held you to 1-1 but, after you scored, you seemed to lose all interest in going forward. N'Zogbia and Stam owned the right wing, and it's easy to see why Ferguson is desperate to get Tom Cleverley back in January. After the first 5 minutes, it looked really ominous, but you then failed to string 2 passes together for the next 85 minutes. I haven't seen us dominate a game so much in ages and, frankly, feel it's 2 points lost. By the way, if anybody's interested, the following have all spent time at both clubs, and it's some list - Nigel Adkins, Graham Barrow, Louis Bimpson, Derek Brownbill, Allenby Chilton, David Collins, Peter Conning, Billy Cooke, Alex Cribley, Paul Dalglish, David Fairclough, Tommy Gore, Stephane Henchoz, Emile Heskey, Sean Hessey, Steve Hollis, Paul Jewell, Tony Kelly, Alan Kennedy, Brian Kettle, Pat Kinsella, Lee Koo, Chris Lawler, Kevin Lewis, Larry Lloyd, David Lowe, Neil Mellor, Gordon Milne, Billy Molyneux, Fred Molyneux, Bobby Murdoch, Andy Mutch, Mike Newell, Tony Quinn, Jack Roberts, Colin Russell, John Ryan, Mark Seagraves, John Sealey, Billy Shepherd, Jonathan Smith, John Smyth, Billy Stewart, Greg Strong, David Thompson, Phil Tinney, Bobby Todd, Dave Watson, Stuart Whittaker.
  10. Like you say, though, 10 of those came in 2 games. I wouldn't bet my mortgage on us getting anything from the game, but I wouldn't bet on us not, either.
  11. The shit thing is that, sometimes, I feel like a fuckin dinosaur. Cheers for the rep, by the way.
  12. Only 8 goals conceded in the last 8 games in all competitions, against your 5 in the same number. Not title winning form, but not that shabby neither.
  13. And I'm guessing, based on your accessible posting history, that you'd be far happier if there was nothing more than a thousand "Who's Our Best Left-Back?" type threads. Before SKY and the internet, football wasn't all about who could post team selections first. The craic of attending a game was about before and after, more than during. You need to relax.
  14. Like fuck it's a rugby town :ermm: There may be a comparable number of Latics/rugby fans, but the numbers, when factoring in all the non-Latics football watchers, don't even begin to compare. They haven't had a higher average than us in years. It's all inbred propaganda.
  15. Consider this, which is posted on message boards the world over, every week - WiganBornandBred: Latics are a joke. SomeoneElse: Why? WBaB: Shit crowds. They're an embarrassment to the town. SomeoneElse: Do you go to many games? WbaB: Me? Oh I'm a Liverpool/United/City/Everton fan. SomeoneElse: Season ticket holder? WBaB: Nah, I watch it in the pub. All said without even an inkling of irony. I reiterate, these people are cunts.
  16. As someone whose Great Great Grandparents came to England during the famine and, as crucially, to escape the overt persecution of Catholics, it's difficult not to have at least some sympathy for the Republican cause, if not agreeing with more recent methods of trying to enforce change. Bear in mind that, as recently as 1968, most Catholics were denied the right to vote. Voting was the reserve of the ratepayer, and Catholics were often denied mortgages or council housing and, by extension, voting rights. It's no wonder they were and are seriously pissed off. Again, I don't excuse their methods, but I do understand their anger. I was in Warrington when the IRA bomb went off and consider myself a very lucky man to still be here, instead of listed alongside Tim Parry, Jonathon Ball and Bronwyn Vickers. I do understand people's anger, and they are justified to feel that way, but they also need to understand the perceived justification of the IRA, however abhorrent it may be. Anyway, after wandering off slightly, I will finish with this. Football is, always has been, and always will be political. Despite the best efforts of SKY and the FA, it is still largely a working class game, even if the vast majority no longer attend games regularly. Politicians have long since tried to be be seen to be aligned with football, as they know it's a potential vote winner.
  17. I think you are right, about this discussion having run its course, but isn't it a fine example of 2 opposing positions not being able to even come close to meeting in the middle? But consider this. If someone - anyone - said to you "Give me your house, I can do a better job of living in it than you, and I'll pay you 500 quid if you're out by the end of the week". You, quite rightly would either insist on the market value or, more likely, would tell them to fuck off. In 5 years' time, I doubt you'd have found a subsequent offer you'd find acceptable. I know that's a ludicrous example, but employers often act that way, offering something they know they will never reach agreement on. 5 years or 5 minutes, it makes no difference if the offer is a mile short of what might ultimately be acceptable.
  18. Actually, when read in isolation, either of those could apply to either party. Of course, there is context which needs to be applied, but you would also get different interpretations of context from both. I'm not arguing right or wrong. Simply saying that there are two, very divided, opinions on such matters. You can, of course, argue with facts, but you cannot argue with opinion.
  19. It's only recently that the club have even allowed ticket sales on the day, but it's likely that GMP have had a big say in the whens, hows and wheres of ticket sales. Also, every game against you, Utd, City or Everton usually involves many instances of like minded gentlemen partaking in spots of enthusiastic rough and tumble, so paranoia is generally the order of the day. Oh, and we have stewards who couldn't hold back a fart, never mind angry football fans.
  20. And here is where I show my own ignorance by admitting to having had to google it ;)
  21. Sadly, most knowledge, nowadays, is obtained from the media, rather than actually studying a subject. If schools taught in a tabloid stylee, it's possible that this country wouldn't be raising a generation of lazy, ignorant, degenerate gobshites.
  22. Fuck all organised religion, and the bigotry they spout* *Except Buddhists, they generally seem like awfully nice people.
  23. I'll try and answer a few points in one. Mario Melchiot now plays in Qatar. Emmerson Boyce was doing quite nicely at Right Back, until his hamstring went ping. Ronnie Stam is a great right back, but is also as mad as a badger, and chases the ball round like an 8yr old. I think his profile has his position as "Utility (all at once)". Losing James McCarthy to a dirty, from-behind tackle against those cloggers from Horwich is a massive blow. If our midfield click, we have the quality to match anyone. Sadly, they often don't. Hugo-a-go-go has hit a bit of form, and French Charlie is red hot currently. If we can actually create chances, we have goals in us. But it's a big "but". Jordi Gomez is improving every week, but he needs help and Hendry Thomas isn't it. It is true about only being able to buy tickets if you are on the database or have a WN postcode. Except WN8, natch. However, there will be plenty of away fans in the home end, because Wigan is full of Liverpool fans. These people are cunts. Not for being Liverpool fans, but for being Wigan-born Liverpool fans.
  24. You can't possibly believe think that doing the right thing is bad for your kids? You gave yourself the opportunity to be able to teach your kids that money not only isn't everything, but also isn't as readily available as TV would have us all believe. It may sting, but doing the wrong thing would have taught them nothing. Well, nothing other than getting what you want is normal, when life doesn't work that way. One of the reasons most of the "civilised" world is turning to shit, is that we no longer teach anybody how to deal with adversity. We are raising generation after generation to believe that they can just take everything, without any concept of earning it. It's why there is no will to succeed any more, just a will to appear successful. It's the X-Factor effect, where success is presented to you by someone who has the power to do so.
