  1. Cruyff: You use too many foreign stars (Yes, that's Barca's Dutch legend) | Mail Online Now I want to bring to light the innate contradictions that exist amongst us as Liverpool supporters. I see absolutely nothing wrong with Madrid fielding 2 homegrown players as opposed to Barca's 7. Madrid were & are simply doing whatever is in their powers to overhaul a recent shift in footballing primacy. Why do people begrudge them for spending to reassert their supremacy. These same people on other threads also wish we had a wealthy investor come in and splash cash on new players! HYPOCRITES! The way I see it is this. To use a parody. Footballing trophies are like women...and the football clubs competing to get the women like wooing men. Each man does whatever is in his powers to get the woman - "All is fair in love and war". Now you have these infantile suitors trying to use their charm to get the woman ie. Arsenal etc with their so called beautiful football. They use all their charm to serenade the woman but who do you think the woman is going to chose? You also have suitors using dirty tactics, back-stabbing other would be suitors ie intimidating the referee, cajoling officials eg Chelski! Then you have other suitors using the sugar-daddy approach eg Citeh & Madrid. Who do you think is going to get the woman. The young ignorant boy with his naive tactics? Not a chance. The truth of the matter is we as Liverpool have been taking the piss believing in some benign noble philosophies but aint got a single Premier League trophy to show for it in the last 20 years. Food for me as a fan is not principles....its trophies and I want the Premiership. Though its a well known fact that Chelski may have "bought" 3 premier league titles what matters is they have them. We aint got skwat! And do not think that whining about losing to a more wealthy suitor a prospective dame is going to take his enjoyment of her. He's going to ripping into her hymen irregardless!:wallbutt:
  2. Keita did play, however Busquets is definetely ahead of him in the pecking order. That's indubitable. And yes I want Madrid to win the league! Don't like Barca philosophy never will. They have the audacity to beat their chest claiming a home-grown philosophy but have only been majorly successful when they have relied on imported talent. Eto, Ronaldinho, Belleti, Abidal, Alves, Henry, Toure, Van Bommel, Guily, Edmilson. How many of those players were and are Catalans. And there is some big admiration and fur-ore about how good they are at promoting youth players. Please...bunch of hyprocrites! :telloff:
  3. Absolutely elated with yesterday's result. Blaugrana cunts expecting special treatment everywhere they go. BAMBAKLAT! Hope they have a trophyless season. How Pep promotes puerile "talents" like Sergio, Pedro & Busquets ahead of Henry, Yaya Toure & Keita beats me. It somehow reeks of racism and appears a thinly veiled attempt at promoting some menial Catalan ethic!
  4. The race for fourth is still on no matter how you look at it! Lets get in where we fit in!
  5. Redshadow speaks the truth! No offense to all the opinions but I do believe there is an insight to be gleaned from what he says. If anyone can take a look at the picture after the Fiorentina match of Gerard, Johnson & Torres, our supposed talismen, they will know how much we were gutted after that defeat! Before that one could get a sense of feeling from the players attitude that we were able to pull a rabbit out the hat despite any abysmal performance! However Jovetic dispelled that and every team that met us knew that dispite them having Gerard, Torres & Johnson in their ranks there was something missing and we were vulnerable somehow. Do people think that it is actually a coincidence that after the Fiorentina defeat we went on to an abysmal fun of form against even the most lowly and meagre of Premier League sides? NO! Fiorerntina showed them that we lacked something as a result of our summer transfer wrangles!
  6. With all due respect to the insight you provide that representation of his tactics is seriously flawed. Maicon in that game was playing as a right-midfielder from the onset, with Zanettie playing as the right back. Though this fact may not mitigate the defensiveness of the formation, Inter had drawn against Fiorentina on the weekend, and Mourinho's change in tactics in lieu of Fiorentina's threat shown by their draw on the weekend, did give them the result they needed. Mind you we failed to cope with Jovetic & Marchioni's wing play, and neither did Bayern, nor Lyon, so Mourinho has to pass in terms of tactics against the Viola!
  7. Am amazed at the resentment people have here for Real! Whatever people's sentiments are, I am tipping Real to win. Bob is going to shackle Messi! The reason Bob has successfully done that on every occasion they have met is this - Bob has an aptitude for marking opponents who cut-in as opposed to try and beat him on the outside. Messi is one such player.
  8. BULLSHIT...BULLSHIT...BULLSHIT...we totally outplayed them in every field of the park except officiating. We were all out attack...til the time we realised we were playing against 12 men!
  9. This whole thread is bullshit! Overall we were the better side....it dont mattrer that they got the result (albeit an inextricably unjust and unfair result...a penalty against us that clearly was not a penalty, .... because the infringement if it did exist began outside the box...not to mention/talk about the fact that the decision came at a critical time in the game! We played well... a heroes welcome is due....particularly to Nando....Masch, Stevie & Insua!
  10. Yep that is where I live! What a small world we live in!

  12. Arda Turan: Late Liverpool Swap Swoop, Dazzling Turk to Replace Babel?
  13. The glaring difference between us & the Mancs is pace. The Mancs were able to fully employ the pace of Nani & Park to great effect along with Rooney's probing runs! This is something that I believe that Arsenal didn't bargain for ie. having a team play their own game against them. In truthfulness I don't think that we are able to employ such a strategy, simply because none of our players afford as much of an attacking threat when it comes to pace and mobility, as well as them being forever weary of such an utility being used against them inhibits them ie Insua, Masch, Carra et al!
  14. This thread is an acute expression of the abominable levels to which our club has degenerated in a quest to achieve glory. For people to be comfortable with a Mourinho appointment merely to prevail in our quest for "Title 19" is despicable. This is a man who encouraged Drogba to dive, instructed his players to cheat, attempted to cajole officials, journalists and the football fraternity all in the quest of glory he did not achieve all epitomized in his famous ghost goal tirade! If this is what some people chose for the sake of getting one over the Mancs/Moores...I do not stand for it and never will!

  16. But zonal marking makes it much more easily to loose "your marker" as you simply have to move around and because you arent being man-marked it is effectively possible to sneak in front of your virtual marker as he can never anticipate your movement. In the box when defending set pieces just marry your man. I do believe that the reason Pellegrini & Benitez employed it is because they felt that a lot more energy was being wasted on monitoring the man you are supposed to be marking, rather than focusing on the flight of the ball & delivery. However it has failed and we should go traditional.
