  1. Hehe, I actually had this on RAWK some time ago. I'm pretty sure I posted an explanation a while ago on here- it was after a dinner time football game, I'd been hit in the face with the ball and didn't have time (or probably inclination, I was 12), to clean up. Especially not after my Mum had to wash my Klan robes for the fourth time that week.
  2. Yep, the ones that actually 'followed the science', not a fantasy based on a country's supposedly exceptional attributes or the increasingly popular 'loads more of us of us have had it, and we're magically immune'. It's not some amazing, mythical thing- stop people getting infected and you stop people dying. Whether that's a low population density, an isolation from other countries' infection vectors or a lockdown, it's what works.
  3. What are you trying to say here? I'll have you destroyed and your grave desecrated, you cunt.

  5. Yep, and thousands upon thousands of people flying in and out of the country with nothing in place to check or trace them. Playing down New Zealand's achievement is astonishing, they did superbly well.
  6. No need for that, we're British goddamit. We'll just look that virus straight in the eye and give it a jolly good thrashing.
  7. He said Countdown was shit when he didn't manage to do the numbers.
  8. This fella's taking things seriously-
  9. Fuckin' Bristol. So much to answer for. As a vague tie-in to the racism thread, the Blue Aeroplanes at Colston Hall in '93 were astonishing. The gig nearly got abandoned when a trap door not far from the stage got put through halfway though their set, and they had to support it with packing cases. My watch got ripped off my arm in the frenzy and I didn't even notice till after the astonishing encore with 7 guitarists, half of them co-opted from the support bands. My head's still ringing from And Stones... over 25 years later.
  10. OK cheers, and bugger. There are a couple of responses seemingly suggesting this is from a couple of weeks back, but I'll be keeping my head down regardless.
  11. Are these up to date? Scotland was given as 0.6-0.8 today in Sturgeon's press conference. New infection figures so far this week are about 1/3 of Wales's.
  12. Sorry, I was on about the fella above you. You can have Norman though.
  13. Looks like we have the reincarnation of Leslie Halliwell and Pauline Kael amongst us.
  14. Not sure, I think I remember seeing some in 20 year groups rather than 10 which would have skewed it upwards.
  15. From Scotland- https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live/2020/jun/11/uk-coronavirus-live-government-under-pressure-to-scrap-2-metres-distancing-rule-in-england?page=with:block-5ee218d98f089c0fbf358835#block-5ee218d98f089c0fbf358835
  16. There's a chart from Spain in the Medium article linked to earlier- It's introduced with- There are also similar charts for those with co-morbidities. As the author points out, the sheer number of people in higher risk categories makes trying to specifically shield them while letting everyone else go about their business completely inpractical.
  17. We had similar at my old company. Plant workers were unionised, got to negotiate with management re pay and conditions and were very well compensated compared to non-unionised plant workers at other sites within the company. I was a lab worker and we were considered to be separate from the plant, and I couldn't get enough people to join a union so we could be recognised. As a result, we got shit pay rises and our flexi-time conditions were gradually whittled away. Everybody moaned and bitched, but no one did anything- I even arranged a meeting at a local pub with the union regional rep, no one turned up. Dicks.
  18. If you had read it, that's the upper bound given based on studies. Combining the data it's more like 0.67%, and may be trending towards 0.5. The main point he's making there is that regardless, it's a lot more dangerous than 'flu.
  19. If this results in David Walliams being imprisoned and executed, then it will all have been worth it.
  20. They do, but we were told it needed to be 2m here. Other than the Tories getting restive, there doesn't seem to be a reason to change it, certainly nothing scientific.
  21. She looks like the epitome of a female 'Boris' fan.
