  1. Coufal doesn’t get the ball cleanly, as he could have done, but he does get the Arsenal player fully with his follow through. Point I’m making, perhaps not clearly enough, is there seems to me to be a lot of tackles where this happens. Martinelli was up and running shortly after, so maybe not as bad as I first thought.
  2. Coufal lucky there? Another tackle that ends up with the tacklers foot coming down on top of the opponents foot. Is it me or are there too many of them happening to be coincidence?
  3. Nice to see Arsenal reverting to the Wenger model, trying to walk the ball in again.
  4. Hope Grealish plays, £100m white elephant with balance issues.
  5. Lucky to have been around while all on the list were playing, saw them mainly on the tele of course, but I think how you conduct yourself should be part of the argument, as well as for the skill, goals, trophies won etc.. Beckenbauer won everything and was a brilliant player, he’d have been close, but was involved in bribery allegations over Germany bidding for the World Cup which were never proven because time “ran out” for the prosecution to be brought. Where have we heard that recently? I think Messi can’t really be argued against now, on all counts, but Mbappe has a few years to complete a full set of medals, and I’ve no doubt score a shitload of goals as well, to possibly challenge him.
  6. Are there suggestions of scurrilous behaviour afoot? Surely nobody will expect favouritism towards either of the two teams?
  7. To be fair, he might not be used to playing so many games in such a short time? Didn’t he play in all of Morocco’s games? If we were already looking before the World Cup then there must be something we’ve seen, just a pity that everyone will know about him now.
  8. “There you go Naby, just like Southport beach! You’ll love it here!
  9. All set up for FIFA’s two golden boys to face off in the final. UEFA won’t be too upset either that two out of three of PSG’s superstars are likely to be behind the headlines. Cue every touch or move that either make will be lauded as “sublime” or “genius” by fawning commentator’s all over the airwaves and television. Ronaldo will no doubt be praying Messi doesn’t end up winning it as he would then be, arguably quite rightly, dubbed GOAT, and that would really stick in his throat. Mbappe on the other hand has years to win everything available and could win the CL with his club team to complete a decent set of medals at 23, but maybe he’d have to go to Madrid or Barcelona before being properly deified. Personally I wouldn’t mind Messi winning it because he’d always have that memory, to go alongside that other memory of us monstering his Barcelona team in 2019 and the Robbo hair ruffle. Then again, big Ibou could end up being victorious, which would be nice for him, especially if he scored the winning goal. Just hope it’s worth watching as so many of these finals fail to live up to the billing.
  10. Morocco not really matching their endeavour with skill. Plucky, but ultimately not really good enough. Their support though, World Class.
  11. Gree-ez-man. Why? He’s been Griezeman for as long as I can remember. Bring back Kenneth Wolsrenholme I say.
  12. I have to say I like the look of Bellingham, the cost is something else of course and more about that later, but there’s been enough people who know more than I do talking positively about him, and I would hope Klopp would have the final say on whether or not he’s worth the price. Agree that we really should be seeing a Fabinho type player also being brought in if possible, then that would go some way to addressing some of the problems we’ve seen recently and go towards future proofing the midfield. The money being spoken about is ridiculous, but not surprising these days, I’ve given up on caring how much players cost, the bench mark is the Managers decision whether the player is a requirement or not.
  13. His ability to make others shine around him? Surely that means he’s that shite even I’d look good?
  14. The lad who sits next to me in the ground, who supplied the info in the first place, was who said Jobe is rated a better prospect than his brother by people at Birmingham. Don’t know myself to be honest, there’s a bit about him if you search Google, but then, there’s likely a bit about anyone in Google if you put a search in.
  15. I’d heard that from a lad who sits next to us in the ground, he had heard we were signing both of them in January, it was the tried and tested “from a friend who’s a friend of the Bellinghams” scenario, but the lad does come from Brum and he’s not the hysterical fanny type. Would be very interesting if that happened!
  16. Bellinghams younger brother, Jobe, is allegedly a better prospect than Jude. Maybe we’ve been looking at the wrong one.
  17. I wouldn’t go as far as to say Trump is a World Cup Star.
  18. Thing is, they don’t need to behave like utter bellends, they’re talented enough as it is, yet the number of times they plainly dive when breathed on is sickening. The fact that officials refuse to penalise them for doing it is as bad.
  19. Because FIFA want Brazil to win it, probably as a tribute to Pele, more likely because they’re bent.
  20. He’s stayed too long, either by choice or by the clubs requirements. Either way doesn’t alter the fact he was playing reasonably well for us when he got the injury against Roma, and that has effectively ruined his career here. That wasn’t his fault, nobody deliberately gets an injury like that, and so he deserves more slack than he’s getting. Leaving will be in his, and ours, best interests though.
  21. This will have all the naysayers claiming United have scared off potential buyers for us by putting themselves in the frame. As ever, if the right bid comes in, we’ll be sold, if not we won’t. Speculation doesn’t mean shit.
  22. Both Ronaldo and then Messi get very dubious penalties. Nothing to see here, situation normal.
