Gerrard - Dalglish dream team.

Would you keep Rodgers at the end of the season?
Drewas replied to Boss's topic in FF - Football Forum
Id have Benitez back all day long. Knows how to setup a team to beat anyone. He just knows how to win things and loves the club. No brainer for me. Klopp could be great still a gamble. Trouble is with Rick Parry still advising FSG never gonna happen unfortunately. -

Personally can see FSG now implementing a Director of Football and saying to Rodgers this is what were doing stay and be apart of it or go if you don't like it. Not sure who would fill that role, Ancelotti? Dalglish? Benitez? . -
Went to see Iron Man 3 last night and LFC make a cameo appearance keep an eye out for it if you go!

Rodgers only knows how to play one way and will not change. Swansea fans loved him but always critisised the fact that he cant change a game like a top class manager can. The problem he had at Swansea ie lack of goals is amplified so much more clearly now hes at a club whos used to being higher than mid table. I think FSG will back him and see if he improves would be hard for them to keep him at the end of the season if we finish below last seasons measly level.

I know its early but the players arent improving under Rodgers their getting worse. Not just Enrique, Stevie, Skirtle even Allen seem to have lost confidence.

This is grim, even decent players are getting worse every game. That cant be Enrique he was decent last season when he had hair. Another first for Rodgers perhaps. Rodgers out!

Interesting read about how managers position will be viewed as a temporary role in the grand scheme of the new Liverpool hierachy. Booking up our ideas? // The Anfield Wrap

Would love Benitez back but it aint going to happen Benitez wont work under a DOF. Rodgers ticks all the boxes, plays attractice, pressing football, improves average players and beats teams with far greater resources. If he will accept players brought in for the team and improve them then hes the right man. The conventional all encompassing manager weve had in the past is gone Henry doesnt want that otherwise Benitez would be top of the list.

He will play some nice football and if as reported he wont solely be responsible for new players I say give the lad a chance?

Not going to give it to Rafa because hes so popular. Would make it difficult to fire him and no doubt would use his popularity to do what he wants. Louis van gaal seems to be picking up popularity this evening would be an interesting choice.

Ok so to summarise all the best managers wont come, some of the worst will come but the fans dont want them. One candidate weve had before we think would love to come and the majority of fans would want him and is proven to at least be competitive in the PL. I personally think FSG are looking for a Wenger type appointment (if Dein IS advising FSG). Someone no one knows but turns out to be a shrewd, tactical genius with the intellect and ambition to win. One hell of a gamble though.

FSG really have some work to do. I do hope they have a plan. Now, just under two weeks before the transfer window reopens, Liverpool have no manager, no director of football, no chief executive, no head of communications and still no decision on a new stadium. This is Liverpool right!

Kenny will still be here, just in a different role. It wont be because of resuts or lack of, more to do with the Suarez affair and the handling of. Suarez is probably gone too. Chartered Trust arent happy they received considerable grief at their AGM meeting about financing our club and FSG are keen to clean the decks of all involved to appease the and any other sponsors who may be watching. All will become more clear on Monday.

I think this is a leftover from the Suarez issue, its not just the club that this has affected:- A kicking for StanChart over Liverpool support Awkward questions were asked at Standard Chartered’s annual meeting at the Honourable Artillery Company — not about fat-cat pay but about the bank’s sponsorship of Liverpool FC. Why Liverpool, asked one shareholder when as far as he knew the bank had no presence in or links with the city? Deflecting the question, Standard Chartered chairman Sir John Peace said perhaps the bank should consider appointing Steven Gerrard to the board as a non-executive director but he didn’t think that Standard Chartered would be able to afford him. Shareholders weren’t so easily fobbed off. Peace was then asked about the bank’s attitude to how Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish had handled the Luis Suarez affair for which the player, a Uruguayan international, had received an eight-match ban for racially abusing Manchester United’s French international Patrice Evra. How much, asked another shareholder, do you pay Liverpool? The chairman said this was complicated but it worked out very well in highlighting the Standard Chartered brand. Peace made it clear the bank didn’t tolerate racism, naturally. Sir John added that personally he was glad Liverpool hadn’t qualified for the Champions League next season as the bank’s sponsorship deal would have meant Standard Chartered paying Liverpool more as it was an incentive-based deal. How bizarre for a sponsor to want its team to do badly. -
It wasnt perfect, what team is, but good players were kept and bad ones shipped out. When Agger is the most competent on the ball and has had pretty much the only attempt on goal, theres clearly something wrong.

We were feared under Rafa, everyone knew their role, we had the Argentine captain and no team looked forward to playing us. This is Grim.

The origin of the Dalglish/Ferguson rivalry
Drewas replied to Section_31's topic in FF - Football Forum
I believe the rumour was that Fergie asked Dalglish and Hansen on how to stop Rush from scoring when Scotland played Wales. Apparantly they refused to tell him and the desire to knock us off our perch was born.
