  1. I don't expect Klopp to raid Dortmund, but if someone else bids for a player he'd like from them then he'd join the race, they do have some talent!
  2. Does anyone know a safe, reliable, live ashes stream?
  3. If we are to play a back 3 in this game I would rather see Carra in the middle than Coates, maybe do a sub later in the game, but I have never seen a former team mate get the better of Jamie Carragher. I fear Crouch might be too cunning for Coates (in an English way), he also hasn't played for a while, could be suseptible to giving a foul/penalty or getting a card, whereas JC doesn'y give that fear, Crouch ain't fast, but he's clever, he's a fucking spider!
  4. Honestly he looks like the milkybar kid, or Ricky Shroeder, what's he gonna do, grow a pair of fat mutton chops and start kicking players into the air?
  5. Gaining an advantage over your opponent and therefore turning an event into a positive for your team, nation/fans should be more important to a footballer than what is written about him in the 'gutter press'. Suarez is indeed a legend, he is talked about, by defenders more than anyone else probably. He is steely determinatiion personified. How long he will stay is another thing.. I hope Sturridge and any other additions transit smoothly into the team, recent history states that 2 of 3 of them will not. It's not just the owners who will get us to CL, it's the manager. Suarez will be made captain after Stevie and the side will be designed around him, he knows this, it has to be preferable to blending in with galacticos/living in a Messi limelight I reckon Suarez is really Rodgers kind of guy/player for all of the reasons stated already by everyone from Ghana to Grimsby. If BR gets it right Suarez will be with us for a while, two or three more like him and we are in business!
  6. Isn't Kelly still injured? I can't wait for him to be available again, he's good enough to be a first teamer, but on current team's form he's an even better back-up. We are all happy that the timimg has been right for a manager to actually have something at the academy worth using, at a time when he has no choice, but keeping young talent together as a group (Stirling, Shelvey, Suso, Kelly, Robinson, Ince) as they mature into good footballers is better for our future than hoping the owners might start writing cheques for silly money. I think Kelly is a great example of the future of the club, and he's a local boy!
  7. Great result today too, obviously, shame it weren't 5 or 6, but 4 is very good! They were woefull JAR showing us why we moved him on, loved the reception he got though. Today is the first time in a long time that I have sat watching from the first whistle to the last grinning like a madman, just waiting for us to score again. Brilliant.
  8. Like Carroll we will make a loss on Downing. AND? Keeping either one signed to the club for any longer than absolutely neccessary (for any wage) is not a step in the right direction. Walcott, Sturridge and Ince, that's a step in the right direction. With Kelly to come back in January, we would have a bigger squad, and a squad with youth and talent. The least Downing owes LFC is to pull his finger out just prior to the window to turn some heads, maybe even up his price a tad. Good times ahead.
  9. A penalty? You're joking.. The two top teams have 9 pens between them this season, and we have none, even when it is obviously a nailed-on pen it is not given.. When we do one day get a pen I do not want it to be against a team we should be hammering anyway!! Save the pens for the scum/bluescum/or last day of the season grab 4th. Be careful what you wish for. If you are only going to get 1-2 pens in a season they better be in games that count. I guarantee Asda Vanilla will get a pen, we wont!
  10. I miss Bellamy. We could use his pace, experience, and finishing! By the way Dr. Peters goes on about the coaches, and that Bellers was with him way before this bbc show would have me suggest that Kenny could have been the one to get this guy in to sort Bellers' head after the Speed Death. He was set to start, but was rested after the Speed Death, when he returned he was an inspiration..
  11. Right, I started reading this thread and got so annoyed I couldn't finish, I just had to say; £40k/week, £5000 per goal and £5000 per assist (they're all goals!) with a 10% annual rise dependant on appearances and/or performance. Footballers all have agents and they are greedy manipulative cunts, they have to prove their worth and so they go overboard, it's the nature.. Sterling has shown some poor judgement on the pitch, I forgave him in the derby, I just thought he was fired up for the derby, and maybe he was, but he is not even near the finished article. On his day he is unplayable, but how often will that be? At the moment it's about once every 4 games, it has to improve and it will, but is this a bridge to far for this manager (not picking on, we haven't a great record recently of managers who are down with the youths)? Sterling is a great prospect, manage the player AND manage the man properly then almost any amount of money is worth it in the long run, so long as you have a decent backroom staff and years of topflight management experience then no Problem. The manager needs to shut up and do the talking on the pitch! I feel better now, cheers.
  12. After the recent comments and the recent thread about the worst ever signing for the club I had to reiterate one fact. LFC only ever signed one player who was found to be guilty of spitting on not just fans, but fellow professionals, as for Pele's vote after the 2002 WC... well that was 10 years ago and things have changed (outrageously biased top 100's from players from bygone era's are now laughed at!). Liverpool Footbball Club is what it is, it is about determination, and we are determined to be on top our way, again, and again and again. Anyway, I don't see how anyone could possibly look past Diouf as our 'Absolute Worst Signing Ever'!
  13. anyway it seems Downing has been forgotten in this 'argument'. Let's keep to current/recent examples. The Geordie lad was at the time (when we bought him) the best English up and comer (old school forward), injured as he was, at the same time as being the second highest goalscorer in the league (15 goals then injured for Dec, but still second highest months later..). The guy is not shit, KK could only do so much, THE CLUB has been turd for a few years now, owners etc. but because he IS Kenny Dalglish he got the bastard. Which any manager of LFC would have been expected to do (but few lately would have). Whether KK being Toon manager (badly) has anything to do with it or not, I don't know... but the guy will be a lot more mature after ONE season away, and he still has a career (within a career) of 4-6 years peak yet to come. Regardless of anything it's Diouf first and Cole/, unlike the previous the Big-Geordie still has a future as a professional football player, whatever the level, and I do back him, my question is more concerned about an untried manager with an oversized portrait of himself on the wall and a bunch of trigger-happy yanks with no concept. But no-one talks about that.

  15. I know its tv, but BR does over do it on the makeup, maybe an attempt to make him look, healthier... It does reek of some drunken guy being pulled out of a pub and given the keys to the club! If BR hadn't eaten all the pies he might actually end up looking good in this, but he has essentially come from nowhere, and he might find it hard to distance himself from this show in years to come. I'm now up to date btw, having watched show 5 I am now officially bored shitless of it, it's too drab, I have to assume that it's been sexed up for the camera's, so life in the camp must be pretty dire. I keep thinking about BR 'Who is he trying to prove it to'? He doesn't seem to me to be 100% believing in what he says. Imo; he knows he is in over his head, he and the club may have agreed that the best way to buy him some time is to leave him short in the market, force him to use the youth, and therefore cannot be blamed until he has spunked our money on his players and they fail. Which grants him one season further-in than the usual model provides, by then everyone has had time to take their hand off it and do what they are paid to do, and we all either like working together or we don't. I hope as time goes on and various players move on that LFC can remember who it is again, if it is to be with BR then I would be thrilled for him, whoever it is I will be thrilled either way. We used to be known as a club that did not swap managers every other season, we need to get back to that in order to be powerful again. We need to be patient, realistic and realistic.
  16. I've only watched the first two episodes so far, and Yeah I like to watch images of Melwood/Anfield and hear our songs on the telly, anytime! In honesty though it is a bit of a 'Footballers Wives' episode, but and I use this term very very loosley; without a plot. The Americans all seem completely unable to conceal their total bafflement at all things FOOTBALL related, and Borini looks like a rabbit in the headlights. There are one or two moments when there isn't cringe alarms going off everywhere, but all in all I'm glad we did it. We had the balls to do it first, no doubt there will be an avalanche of these such shows...
  17. Diouf plays for... Enough said. He is now at a club that share his high moral standing! The fact that we got this idiot, Diao and the new Zidane instead of Anelka still winds me up to this day!!! Ged, what were you (on) thinking?
  18. Allen is a bit light, I agree, Hendo runs around like Scott Parker, but he's getting better at it, Lucas before his first injury was amazing, will he be the same player when he returns, the squad having changed so much too? I hope so, but he is not as vital as he was before he became an injury liability... I love him to bits but we will have to change so much to slot him back in that I worry about the reaction, and if then given 4-6 games to prove fitness he is totally unfit, then someone else has missed out on a chance...
  19. I mean he would be a good player to have, also to attract other Brazilian players, but he will never be a stand-out player. He was Brazilian Footbal U21 player of the year when we bought him, but we didn't have a DM after XA/JM so he had to readjust if he want to be in the first team, and he has done well, but he is NOT a natural DM. His attitude alone is priceless around Melwood, and the Academy, but he doesn't set the World on fire, does he?
  20. Watched all of both of those, there is no doubt Lucas is a dude! I love his attitude... We obviousy need him back as he is our only DM. I have to ask though, does he actually fit into the future of LFC? Allen has made the position his own, Shelvey is up for anything, Sahin has passes and goals, we have natural width and we still have captain marvel. The reality is if the Club (thats the fans!) believes it is worthy of trophies, just because, well you won't win that way. The Club has to support it's top players in time of need, it's fans in time of need and it's reputation in times of need. We are currently sprouting out of the ashes of what would have been our demise, in a lot of ways just as it was when Sir William Shankly took over and turned an unfulfilled potentiial into the Greatest Football team that evet existed. The patterns are very similar, BR needs a little longer! Long live the King.
  21. So what if the mirror is shit, you'll read it and be fucking grateful.
