  1. Where did you get that we have bid for Rondon, or is this to suit an agenda?
  2. I'm not sure if it is predatory of out of desperation, Wenger is probably looking around at ourselves and spurs and thinking that they could easily be upsurped from their lofty position of fourth. He needs a striker and that is evident, considering Falco and Cavani both moved for around £52m and he had a bid of £40m+£1 rejected why did he not come back with a better offer? I believe they have sought advice from Big Gay Bill in the art of making a transfer fail because you don't want to actually spend that much money, you just want the world to perceive that you are trying to spend that much money (especially when season tickets are being renewed).

What about putting a cap on how much a team can spend on wages, at that point you are not penalising any individual. Teams can still pay the top players big wages but would have to balance it out with paying peanuts to shit players.
  4. So once the argument about stadium size is over are we then going to complain that they have higher revenues than us from the stadium because they can charge far more than us(as sexrex pointed out the London factor). I think we spend to much time obsessing about others (sounds a bit like the bitters doesn't it). We need to get our own shit in order and do what is right for us.
  5. Well that would save him from having to butter it!
  6. Haha picked up the wrong one, although i believe there is a similar law over here.
  7. PUBLIC-PRIVATE FAIR COMPETITION ACT Summary This act prohibits government from engaging in any commercial activity of any goods or services to or for government agencies or for public use which are also offered by private enterprise. It establishes a Private Enterprise Advisory Committee to act in conjunction with the state auditor to review and make determinations concerning state agencies engaged in or proposed to be engaged in activities which unfairly compete with the private sector. It also establishes a system to resolve complaints from the private sector regarding unlawful government activity established in this Act. (An example of this bill is Oregon BB #2778, 1993.) I wonder if they are in breach of this?
  8. he wasn't a better player, you are just saying that because he scored more goals. you are extremly condescending, for someone so stupid, you are as bad as code, you just cannot take on someone elses point of view. there are people on here who specialise in a lot of the things you argue about, they will point blank tell you that you are wrong, yet you will still argue until you feel you have won (which is usually someone handing you your own arse on a plate).
  9. Correction, he scored more goals, that doesn't make him a better player. Think before you type and maybe people would dish out so much shit your way.
  10. Did you not think Suarez was a good player under Kenny, if not you were either blind or retarded. You don't just have to score goals to be a good player.
  11. That is a bit like saying if Roy Evans had stayed then Gerrard wouldn't have been the player he was as Ged got the best out of him, well that's just shit, the cream will always rise to the top.
  12. My own personal opinion is they are here for the long haul, they want us to be successful within our own means because the brand and its global reach with be a lot more profitable than selling in a couple of years(stadium developed or not). NESN makes a lot of money for them, the more teams and sports they can own, the more they will be able to charge for exclusives(as a pay monthly subscription). I would like them to inject some capital in from time to time, especially in circumstances like this summer, all the managerial changes going on, spurs could lose their knuckle dragger, it's a real time to take the initiative and push on. Apart from G+H nobody owns a football club and doesn't expect to cough up some of their hard earned cash. If they invest wisely and at times when the openings are there then a lot of ground can be made up on the teams above.
  13. What has made you draw that conclusion?
  14. Its very difficult to judge keepers in teams with shit defences, as they generally have more shots to save so can appear better than they are( see Chris Kirkland). There is a massive difference between being a goal keeper for the cannon fodder of the league and one that has aspirations of making the top four. Pepe has been out of form for a while, until the middle of last season, the fact he is now almost back to his best i would prefer to see how he progresses in the next 6 months, he is not as bad as some are making out, and the other keepers are just flavour of the month signings, that may not be able to handle the expectations of a big club. If we are looking at replacing defenders then we need as much stability as possible going into the new season, and for me that doesn't involve replacing Pepe.
  15. Wigan are obviously the type of team you admire, winners. Because when you win cups you don't have to worry about league form.
  16. the problem with that lies when you are spending that sort of money, £5m players become £15m players, £10m players become £25m players, and if you make mistakes like a keane or aquilani then the wheels fall off and you are then left to rebuild. i would much rather we took the build a solid base route, then later on add the odd stellar signing.
  17. Answer to q1 is they have 3different tv packages looks like the top one is now £15 a month. I get CBeebies as that is a freeview channel but not the Disney channel, but there is also a lot on the on demand stuff for them as well. I'm not sure how good it would be for older children(10 and up) I have just looked at my download speeds I can get for my area and it averages 59mps. The user interface takes some getting used to, all in all you get what you pay for. Sky has better channels and more of them. BT isn't Sky so is a major plus in my book. What channels apart from sport do you watch on sky as that was a big factor in me switching as well, as the wife hogs the tv till 9 most night watching soaps, and when she isn't watching that its docudramas on terrestrial. The only channel I miss is sky Atlantic.
  18. I have BT Vision, i ditched SKY as i was fed up of handing my money over to them each month. Essentially it is a freeview service with a recorder( it can only handle 2 recordings at a time- same as SKY). it has a good catchup service, and the on demand service is not bad either. It has a Box Office section for films(you will pay extra for this). It's not a massive saving you will make. i pay :- £14 Phone Rental £26 Broadband £12.50 BT Vision Then for any calls on top! overall i don't regret leaving SKY as since i have 2 young kids it's hard to watch the football at home anyway, so i now have to go to the pub to watch it. and as we aren't on that often i actually save money. when i signed up i used quidco and got £100 cash back which made it more attractive, i have just had a look and they are only offering £10 off at the moment but they are offering up to 40% off of broadband.
