  1. If you look at the players we have been linked with in the past Alves, simao etc it would suggest he has a good eye for attacking talent. Babel is still a hugely promising player in my eyes but like Lucas needs time are we a club that is able to give them this time, well judging by fans reaction I would say no. We aren’t a team or a club at the moment where players can have faults unlike Manu they have good enough players to cover for these inadequacies personally I don’t think we do. There is a huge sense of frustration within the club the fans and the players and that will never produce freedom, which is what attacking players need. If we can find options like Kuyt but say quicker or better technically like Kuba, Levezi etc then we are likely to have great outlets, having attacking players that aren’t afraid to have defensive responsibilities isn’t a bad thing, unfortunately we have players who have this mentality who aren’t good enough to deal with both. Look at many of the games we play and the positions are full backs wingers strikers etc get into they are great positions to be but we do not have the players to execute them properly, the amount of times kuyt gets into the right position but either cant cross or his pass is off is just silly, same with arbeloa the list goes on. Now if a better player were there a different result would likely to occur and we would be probably 1-0 or whatever ahead. Now this isnt to say Rafa needs to develop better attacking systems, he does and hopefully will with additions in coaching staff, but i feel you need to look at the players in the system first rather than the systems as i feel that’s where the true problems lie. Im sure many will point that Rafa has picked these players but we all no many have been second or third choices and that has been carrying on for at least his entire time at this club.
  2. If we do sign him for twenty mil it will likely over a period of time to both parties, he seems to have a very good strike rate i think one in two which is rather impressive in any league. From reports he does sound a very good striker unfortunatly he is one player i havent really seen play but i would like to. I think he would be played as a loan striker when torres needs a rest or is injured etc, he would be a better option than Kuyt or Keane that is definate.
  3. Its been a very strange season, not only for us but for others also and it still isnt over but according to some it is but lets try and see things a bit differently. Im shore many people will consider this season as an improvement on past seasons not only in our possition but also our style of play a more possitive approach to football, not matter how people bang on about how we play shit football, it has improved alot even over the season it has. Especially last night our ideas movement with and without the ball especially in the first half was great to see. Unfortunatly many of the final passess were cut out so well played wigan, they held on but we gave them we really had them all over the place something which we dont normally do against a Bruce team. Wether you like us holding onto a one goal or not its something we have to learn, ManU and Chelsea have shown though one nil wins are so important, but for some reason we just cant do it, not maybe that it is the step up in quality that we are missing at the moment. Thats whare i feel i differ in my opinion personally i would Blame lucas or blame torres, blame though who missed the chances or fucked up a pass because that is what happened last night, the players didnt execute the plan for the whole game other wise like the first half showed if they had we would have won the game. Its a such shame lucas ended the night with such a stupid fucking tackle he had played very well up to that point and was showing his mony's worth but then again he showed why he is still adapting or isnt ready for this league, his lazy tackling is something that needs sorting and hopefully it will. Our manager. Rafa may have done many things in the ast that are strange and off the ball but the subs last night werent, we have a huge game coming up on the weekend and we need Torres and we need gerrard to be able o play at a high level on sunday, Torres showed alot of fatigue you could tell his mind and his legs were somewhare else, also i dont think he was pissed at the sub more his perfromance. Sunday game for me is huge we win it and we are still in the title race its chelsea back and us on the front foot and hopefully some much needed confidence, january seems to have to our normal november so maybe feb will offer us a more confident and winning team. We played some great stuff last night and showed of won by at least three, so lets have confidence lets bring out our voice on sunday and drown the chelsea boys out. Rafa is still our manager and we should still support him, hearing posts of "fuck off rafa", showing passion and support for your team and club is fine but respect and our atttitude is what has defined us or many years but i feel it is going, posts like that are just riddiculous, it shows a reaction rather than a thaught out analysis of whats going on, but that just maybe being a footie fan. I can understand many frustrations with Rafa, but he put us in our best possition for ages so im shore he knows what hes doing, (others may not), as a referance werent valencia third with some points gamp when they won the league, now i know its a new situation compared to that time but it maybe so we do not have the pressure upon us, rafa may see we are suffering because of it and he sees we need to loosen up a bit and we are. Hansen last night seemed to marvel at united about what they are going to do and how they do it, and to be ohnest so should everyone, they are the best team and possibly squad in the league and its the best united team i have ever seen, now if we put that into perspective shorely we arnt doing that badly. We need a more possitive attitude from ourselves as the players im shore know how we feel so again it cant be helping their moral confidence, lets try and be possitive and lets make shore this season doesnt end on a wimper but a bang. Its my two cents wether its a good post is up to you guys to decide but i feel that we need to take a step back and look at whare we are and it isnt that bad if were ohnest with ourselves.
  4. we are so far away from that calimaty is fantastic, jeez to even compare that time and this is ridiculous, considering its the best team villa have had in about ten probably more years, ManU and Chelsea again their teams have surpassed the team ged faced yet we are very close to winning the league possibly. Why people are so worried or even concerning themselves by looking at that horrendous time is beyond me.
  5. Arbeloa is only just coming back to fitness who else is going to play their, skrtel has never played that possition as far as i aware of as consistantly as carra so again inexprience could have cost us more than one goal. Skrtel has only had a few minutes back and straight away he is meant to be back to his best is just stupid to think that. We at times were over confident or slack in our play with passing at the back but hyppia pissed me off the most he was like kuyt and just kept slamming the passes into skrtel it just became silly. Skrtel had a shit game but he still showed alot of composure and nouse on the ball which was great to see, now combine that with coming back to full fitness and game time and he will look a very good player again. The skrtel and carra pairing really seemed to work at the beggining of the season we had a higher line and pressed team into shorter spaces which help us alot more so hopefully that will happen when then are paired together again and hopefully for the length of the season, baring injuries of course.
  6. I think that is probably the best post i have seen this within this board, i cant believe some of the things being said about Rafa and the team even though some things are justified to a point, the level of abuse its so out of order its not even opinion its pure anger and its horrible to see.
  7. According to a Croatian freind who i feel wouldnt bullshit me and i feel knows his stuff, says its a very reliable paper and that the deal seems very real and could/should very well happen.
  8. A very good player and would add so much to our right hand side as well as through the middle. He would give us alot of balance especially with Reira on the left hand side, a front line of Torres, Reira, Kuba and Gerrard with Babel coming in for either Kuba or Reira as well Kuyt, Benny and Keane would be a fantastic front line in terms of first team and squad if Rafa can keep them alll happy.
  9. Spearing isnt that great plessis showed potential against arsenal in a league if you put spearing in that possition he would fail. Its not wether your scouse english or whatever its if your good enough and Rafa obviously see's them as being not good enough yet. If you really think rafa could see a gerrard in our reserves or lower and he would leave him their because he isnt foreign i really do think many need their heads checked. If spearing is the future for this club in terms of a player then god help us.
  10. If we ever get very good full backs then the left hand side or right hand of a front three is the way to go with babel. But at the moment i would either play him behind torres or on the right hand of a 4231 and have reira as the left hand side replacement, now you could either play carra or as a possibility play skrtel as the right full back, both have strong defensive capabilities. Both are very energetic more so for me than arbeloa in my opinion even carra looks more possitive in the full back role than at cb, it would also allow agger to move back into the back four its could very well be a stupid idea and it isnt something i think will happen but it would free Babel up on the right hand and i feel it would make us a tighter but still a very attacking unit. But i can see a right full back coming in january i imagine in the quality of skrtel, agger etc Now all of that is very hypothetical and just ideas so please dont take it as a real possibility.
  11. ----------------------Reina Arbeloa--------Skrtel--Hyppia--------Dossena ---------------------Masch ------------------------Gerrard Babel/Pennant---------------Keane----- ------Reira -------------------------Torres That for me will be our 442 formation Reira would struggle like kuyt in the 3 of 4231 their wouldnt be alot of balance on the wings. Thats a good 442, i have to say though i still feel we will have two formations one for home and one for away when everyone is fit and feeling good, its not the way i feel it should be done but i think its what rafa wants to do i reckon
  12. Yep that is very true he seems to have been correct on what he has said on this thats for shore, he was allways saying that they wouldnt take us over when cowntown said they would and they didnt so i magine he had good info. As for his transfers he has never really been proved right or wrong allthough he was perfect about the masch and babel trasnfers
  13. Cheers mate i was a bit skeptical myself when i was told but i thaught you never know obvously its something that isnt going to happen around that date then. The information given today really sums it up, they would recieve a profit from doing fuck all and still they are holding out for me, its shows how shit some people are in this world when it comes to business or money.
  14. Coop Just wondering if you have heard any ramblings about a takeover in late september/October just something ive been told is floating around. It maybe utter bollocks but just wondering if anything has been passed to you about that time.
  15. Now he is one player that really hasnt come on in about two years, he isnt the player everyone thaught he was going to be, he was a player with great potential now for me he isnt, he could still become a very good player but not to the world class standard that deco showed for many years. He reminds me very much of Ben Arfa could have gone on to be world class but something has got in the way to stop this. He would be a huge step for everton but for me he wont improve us and especially at the price i imagine they will want then we cant camble considering out financial problems.
  16. Even though Arbeloa had a fantastic game against Messi baring in mind i think he actually played left back that night, and that is a possition he seems to be better in than his natural right unfortunatly we have alot better options at left back in Insua and Dossena so i dont see Arbeloa as being used within this possition. As for our youngsters i can say i havent seen one right back within the reserves or the under 18's that good enough to make the break through. If we have a better option available and is a more natural attacking full back then i see no problem with the sale. Also as for his spanish call ups, he i think has played nearly two to three games obvously their maybe more, but unfortunatly sergio Ramos is their and their for a long time Arbeloa will never feature heavily for Spain and really shouldnt for us. We have enough cover in the back four for Arbeloa not to be their as well.
  17. Yes he does have years left in him but he certainly shouldnt be our first choice RB and at the momment he probably is unless Deggen is but overalll he really isnt that much better allthough is probably better going forward and putting in crosses but that isnt that fantastic an achievement. Arbeloa would be a great team mate but unfortunatly we also need better players not just freinds if we are going to take this forward and at. When you look at the young quality that is available within the full back possitions you realise how poor we are in the full back, i mean Cliche for about 350,000 thats a hell of a deal and im shore their are other full backs within that price who are just as good. We baught arbi for what 2mil euros lets make a good profit and look to better ourselves like we did with the left hand side, Dossena and Insua and quality players that are of the standard that should be playing for this club at least. I left Aurelio as i see him leaving in January or next season so i dont see him being a main stay like the other two.
  18. That would probably be the best deal the club has done in some time. He really isnt for that at all probably about 4mil. If we do sell Arbeloa then we will im shore have a replacement lined in a younger better version, hopefully someone that can be their for the long term like Insua for the left hopefully. A young defence of Agger, Skrtel, Insua and ? is something that could be with us for a long long time and at a world class level hopefully, the appointment of Pellegrino i feel could very well be vital to that. It shows Rafa realy is thinking of the future with us, granted this is all if's and buts with the right hand side but for me if he does go we have a younger better option in mind.
  19. Insua is very much in the Masch mold in terms of pace and energy, Insua has put on alot more muscle mass and he seems to be a lot fitter than last season but he still needs to step up in cardio to really deal with the prem.
  20. He is a good player and should turn out to be a very good left back but he has weaknesses which need addressing through possitional training as well as being mature on the ball. He doesnt have that pace that would indicate a way of getting out of trouble, if cliche didnt have his pace he wouldnt be that great a full back many times he is caught out of position his crossing isnt the great, but his pace touch and and general movement stretch's defences which works very well within the Arsenal team. If Insua can time his runs just that little bit better and his first part of beating his man he will be very good. This whare Insua and the team can learn from having Dossena he is very much in the mold of Insua in terms of style so Insua will benifit from him being in the team.
  21. average to poor is a player of risse's claibre. Dossens is far more than average he is consistantly a good player allways reliable, as well as putting in very good performances as well. We need consistancy down that left side and he will give it to us plus a more attacking threat its a good deal considering the market.
  22. Just to point out he was the first to even say about Babel signing the day before, he was also right about Masch i dont know how long before it actually agreed. He knows his stuff does shanks and by the way he was right about the take over because everything he said happend i.e. it didnt go through so someone is talking bullshit. I feel i know who it is.
  23. I dont see us spending 16 mil on barry unless its ten mil with carson covering the six million that i can understand and it would probably end up being a good deal. If carson is not included then if hope rafa is not included Hamsik could be a possibility at that price and overall he is a much better player and younger. Reria would be a wierd choice for me as he is a winger and wouldnt fit the 4231 formation we have converted to, he isnt a layer that likes to come into the midfield he hugs the touch line and is more suited to a 442 formation Considering we have Babel on the left hand side it would ruin him as a player to try and covert him as a touch line winger. As for thoughs at anfield that feel gerrard should be in the centre well we have tried this and it failed, gerrard hasnt got the disapline for the centre role, so anfield is in trouble as it seems they dont have people that understand the player himself as well as football, which is worrying.
  24. what does the article actually say.
  25. He picked out Ronaldo as a player that couldnt survive in his generation. Excuse me his guy has braught life back into football and showed skill technique that s truly extrordinary, now he isnt the most liked including by me but the guy is a phenom just like ribery etc. The gist of his atricle has points but to say that football isnt about technqiue nor in a way about pure football is silly. I would not say at all that europe is following the english trend in that its all about power and pace. I would say football is really getting back to its roots its becoming more about passing as a collective and getting the football on the ground. Tatic's have just become more prominant in the game because financially its alot more imperitive to win rather than to play football first. Which is something Liverpool as a team need to realise, playing football will win you games consistantly more often than not. From a player i hugely admired growing up as i was a big AC milan fan im dissapointed to see him say this.
