  1. I've been to every away game apart from the Exeter game in the Carling Cup for the past 3 seasons and I cant get a ticket to the home game against City. I am pretty pissed off and imagine I will have been to all games except the City home game if we make it to the final and still miss out on a ticket. That is a joke.
  2. He put the boot in to England and was brutally honest about the fact they were nowhere near Spain or Germany when on Football Focus recently. It was hilarious to watch and quite refreshing. He would offer some balance to the hype at the Euro's... I hope the BBC sign him up!
  3. I agree with what you say. I also think had Kenny signed him things would have been very different as he would have given him confidence and brought him on as a player in a way which would have been alien to Rafa. By the time Kenny took over again, too much time had passed and his departure was necessary.
  4. Sami was a better player, without a doubt. We havent replaced Sami and we have missed him since he left. He was a leader on and off the pitch. Everybody spoke about us missing Alonso when he left but that summer Hyypia left also and that was as big a loss for us.
  5. At his press conference to announce his appointment at West Ham he came out with this beauty: "Everywhere I've been I've entertained the public".
  6. Nothing to worry about. I think once this transfer window shuts we will be looking for a top right winger who will be able to offer pace and balance down that side which will really stretch teams. That would really put the finishing touches to the first 11. Until then, keep building a balanced squad and try and shake off the shite on silly wages.
  7. I'm happy. He'll bring us the balance we havent had since Riera's first season (year we came second). I would just sell midfielders now and focus on one more top attacker and a left back and centre back. I hope we are prepared to pay full whack then!
  8. We signed Torres, Alonso and Mascherano whilst relatively young players. Players of this quality are what we need and I dont believe they're out of our reach, if we are prepared to pay the necessary price. Sign them with vast potential and let them blossom!
  9. I was at Haye Thompson (his 9th or 10th fight I think) and it was a case of exhaustion having dished out quite a one sided beating that could easily have been stopped. Haye wasnt counted out but it's fair to say Adam Booth throwing in the towel saved him from a far more damaging defeat.
  10. What's with all the Haye bashers? Maybe they are secret Audley Harrison fans. More likely it is the same people who were saying "Haye is avoiding the Klitschko's..."
  11. Haye to win by KO. He will need to be elusive like against Valuev but the difference is when he connects with Wladimir it will shake him up. I dont think Haye will jump on him straight away but he will hurt Klit early and get his respect before stopping him between round 4 and 6. That is my prediction!
  12. I'm not a local or long distance Liverpudlian but can see with my southern eyes that Skrtel is poor. To be fair he plays well against the big teams but he becomes erratic against sides outside the top 4. We need two new centre backs once Carragher goes, not just one. Hopefully the youth team produces at least one of them!
  13. Clichy over Enrique every day of the week. £8.5m would be my limit though. Although going by this summers transfer fees maybe £16m wouldnt be unreasonable!
  14. Alvarez did very well. He puts his punches together brilliantly and it's hard to fault him offensively. His defence hasnt been tested by anybody yet capable of stringing together combinations and making him retreat. It would therefore be beneficial for him to not have too many more fights at the level he is currently operating at which some would argue is no better than European level. What I was pleased to see was head movement against Rhodes as against Matthew Hatton there wasnt enough. It is easy to look good defensively though when you arent being attacked. Regardless of how far he can make it, he will certainly give us plenty of fun along the way.
  15. Tremendous run of fights. Between now and August that is every weekend covered! Fantastic stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing Anthony Crolla tonight. I hope he is on live as support and not shown after the main event. He would be a bigger name and prospect if he was fighting under Eddie Hearn or Frank Warren in my opinion. I respect what Hatton is trying to do but I'm not convinced he will guide young prospects to the top and give them enough exposure despite getting shows on Sky.
  16. Didnt cross my mind for some reason, I was looking for specials. Nice one!
  17. Folks, please help! Rory McIlroy is 1/3 on to win it now... Where can I find online odds on him NOT to win?
  18. Pretty much, yeah. An integral part of the side which won them the title for the first time in how many years? And then won a second. Easily comparible to Markus Babbel's time with us, in fact probably better.
  19. And the fact that he didnt seem the same player. Washed up early like Michael Owen.
  20. I see your logic. We let the likes of Markus Babbel and Sami Hyypia leave for nothing.
  21. Agreed. His decline since has been alarming though. He doesnt even seem to have pace now.
  22. Price will be competitive British level. Chisora should handle him and top Europeans should too. Although if he surprises me and handles himself at European level, give it two years and he will automatically arrive at world level due to the shallow and old division.
  23. Tonight should have been final eliminator until McDermott pulled out with a cold the fat bastard. Shame Dallas is so shite as I would like to see Price get tested. I really dont think he has what it takes. To get to European level. We shall see though.
