Steve Smith must have the best hand - eye coordination of any batsmen, ever. His technique is ridiculous but he’s so good at the same time.

I’d go; Burns Roy Root Denley Buttler (has to bat 5 if he’s in just as a batsman) Stokes Bairstow (wk) Woakes Broad Leech Anderson Ali shouldn’t play as he’s out of nick and I wouldn’t risk both Anderson and Archer. No no chance will we not change the line up multiple times through the series.

Wonderful game and made up with the result. But. How does 241/8 not beat 241 all out?! Also, why have a super-over and then revert to a boundary count when it’s level? Would be like going to the number of corners if a penalty shoot out ends 5 all in the unmentionable. Madness and Kiwis must be devastated to lose that way. Thank fuck it went our way for a change!

His real name is Gerry Crosbie. I like his album but not sure how far he can go using the same 4 chords all the time. He doesn’t have a record deal does he? I think ‘Erratic Cinematic’ was crowdfunded. Best thing he could do is sign a deal and learn how to play the guitar properly.

Buttler opens in T20 so I’d go with him. Hopefully Roy doesn’t need to bat at all.

I think Australia have got a good chance. Plus I can definitely imagine Smith and Warner winning the World Cup 4 months after their bans ended.

Revised to Bali in May and either China or Burma, Loas, Cambodia in September (still undecided). We’re going to Bangkok for Easter and have got another few long weekends away lined up for later in the year. Also off to Agra tomorrow and Jaipur in May.

I’ve read the Jesse Stone series (which is great) and am intermittently making my way through the Spenser series, which is very good too. I think I’m 5 books in so far, will have to dive back in soon.

For fans of the Harry Bosch books, Michael Connelly has just started a weekly podcast called Murder Book. The first episode was good, speaking about a 1987 homicide with the Detective Rick Jackson. Continues on Monday.

I use the Kindle app on my iPad. While I agree that an actual physical book is the best format, digital books are much more convenient and better suited to my lifestyle.

I’ve been a couple of times, not for a while though. Always enjoyed it, nice city, good nightlife. Try and watch the f******* while you’re there, tickets are easy to get, the stadium is cool and easy to get to on the tram.

Currently living in Delhi, haven’t fully planned my holidays for the year but we’re off to Abu Dhabi, Manila and Kuala Lumpur for 2 and a half weeks from the 15th January. Then thinking Sri Lanka in May, possibly China or Japan in September and hopefully South Africa in December. Will get out to see as much of India as possible throughout the year as well, probably starting with Agra next month.

I’m currently reading The Reapers; the 8th Parker book. Great series although I find I have to read something else between them. Certainly the first few were pretty heavy.

I’ve gotten into baseball this year, been watching the Yankees and Red Sox in the past couple of months. Still not sure of all of the rules like but still, I’m really enjoying it. The Yankees play the Red Sox tonight in the ALDS game 1. Let’s go Yankees!

Good to see you back mate. Thanks for the recommendations, I’ve read the excellent Byrne and Balzano series but will get stuck into the others. Nice one.
