  1. I just live for the day that I am half-watching one on tv & hear a suspect says to Marple, 'OK, prove it in court you nosey old bint'.
  2. The Mrs loves them Agatha Christie things & I go ballistic over the denouments ( sp ? ). Miss Marple Or Poirot will come up with the most tenuous, unproveable load of cobblers you can imagine & instead of pissing themselves laughing, the supposed murderer either tries to run through about 20 coppers shouting their guilt or breaks down, confesses & blames the lack of sherbet dib-dabs as a child or some other bollocks.
  3. Come on DDS, boxing is a game of opinions, stop sitting on the fence all of the time.
  4. Seems to bang the lid on a defensive mids coming in.
  5. Looking at the Klitschko v Povetkin match-up. Despite him being a Heavyweight Champ, have seemingly managed to avoid seeing anything of Povetkin that I can remember. What does he bring to the party ? Is he a boxer or banger & does he have any chance against Klitschko ? Notice that the fight is in Moscow which would suggest that Klitschko is confident.
  6. She is a very attractive young lady, but as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I am on Bartoli at 50/1 so I am afraid that the possibility of hard cash out-trumped the shot putter / beauty conundrum.
  7. Finally got round to seeing that episode on Virgin + & at the risk of letting the side down, would have to mention her ( male ) partner's classic in the same round. Which French revolutionary was stabbed to death in the bath by Charlotte Corday ? Partner's answer - Joan Of Arc ?
  8. Think Davies has tailed off & would have had a BOD/Roberts combo in the centre. Can make a decent argument for all of the changes but so many changes again ( 5 last week, 6 this week ) makes me wonder whether there was ever a coherent plan. Positives, the scrum should be sound ( keep the front row on longer this week ) and we should have a bit more go forward from Roberts & Faletau. Negatives, very little leadership, line out & a very surprising lack of back 3 cover on the bench. Overall I think 60/40 Aussies in my mind.
  9. Happy enough with Carroll/Shelvey out & Aspas/Alberto & Mignolet in which, as Tony B says, cancels out financially when Ince's windfall is added in. ( Toure considered an enforced swap with Carra ). The fun starts now though with the Suarez / Reina & Mkitharyan situations.
  10. It's a definite fact, Champ, I've noticed it over the last few Wimbledons. I find it amazing that the women's game is in flux ( bar Serena ) and there is an opportunity for these ladies to become multi-millionaires with a bit of effort but a lot don't seem to be that bothered. I only watched bits of 2 games today & I reckon Kvitova & Bartoli were both less than athletic-figured.
  11. I saw this breaking news on SSN & had this image of a 6ft 6ins Gulliver-type character in Barca's ressies kicking all the little bastards out of the way & insisting on taking long throws & taking his Andy Wilkinson shirt to training to wipe the ball.
  12. Can imagine quite a lot of the LFC players going to tweet on Kelly's new 'look' & then remembering Suso getting walloped for £10k.
  13. He was 6 and a half stone when he signed to be fair
  14. I'm pleased really as I don't want either side with excuses whatever the outcome. I'll bet he would have been banned if the Lions had already won the series though. Think the momentum is with Oz & am regretting changing my mind & not gegging in on the 9/2 on offer for an Australian series victory before the 2nd test. The Lions need to play rugby to win this time, as the negativity last Saturday was pathetic.
  15. I agree to a degree RB. To me, the crunch is going to be her flexibility as I think the service problems, mental frailty & slightly wild forehands should be sortable by a decent coach. The big problem to me is that her legs seem a bit like stone at times & she is very slow around the court ( although better than last year ) and I'm not sure how much better she can get on this ( maybe yoga or whatever might help ). The other players are already picking up on this & I noticed Kanepi moving her around deliberately. Looking on the bright side, judging from this thread it would seem that she wouldn't struggle for forumites to help her work on her flexibility.
  16. Sad to see Robson go, but couldn't see her upsetting Lisicki anyway. Kanepi deserved it over the piece, but Robson was very unlucky with a bad call in the second set that cost her a break which could have made a massive difference. Looking at Robson going forward, she could go a long way depending on whether she is prepared to graft. As the co-commentator said during the Kanepi match, she has a lot of tennis gifts that you can't manufacture & her weaknesses are all recoverable with hard work & good coaching. In the 'English girl in the 2nd week' hysteria, it can be lost that she is the youngest girl in the top 50 and has barely started her career.
  17. Did similar recently at one of those Pasty Shack's at Piccadilly Station. Had one of those moral dilemmas, look a minge bag & give it back or pretend I didn't have 3 pound coins in my hand & try surreptitiously to find a fiver in my jeans pocket. I grudgingly waved a fiver at the guy who knew exactly what was going on.
  18. Seems Iniesta has paid off £200k in owed wages to his old club, Albacete to ensure that they are not relegated. Never really warmed to Andres ( don't know why, maybe it's his weird paleness ! ) but I do like to see things like that, showing players don't always forget their roots.
  19. Read somewhere that they have agreed to let BBC show an hour of their set live. Very interested to watch it, as I have seen footage of a few live concerts of theirs on tv & have not been impressed at all.
  20. He'll be glad that he got the game out of the way under the roof while some in his half may start to get a bit of a match pile-up if the rain hangs around. Tried looking for interest bets to keep me involved & have basically kept away from Serena & Djokovic's halves of the draw & tried a few £5 each-ways on Bartoli ( 50/1 ) Janowicz ( 66/1 ) and Youzhny ( 200/1 )
  21. Tyson Fury demanding an 80-20 split of the money to fight David Haye & fair fucks to him for keeping his face straight on SSN.
