  1. Good striker, Benteke, but also a bit of a shithouse. His elbows were being thrown around very freely when we played them last season.
  2. True Barry, there was none of the sneering & antipathy to us that has been seen with Tyler, Champion, Stelling , Burley etc. So am happy enough with the amateurishness especially as I get it for nowt extra.
  3. Thought getting Pulis in was a bad idea as he is a boring bastard & he also inhibited the other pundits with their comments on Stoke tactics. Didn't think Owen was as bad as most are saying. He spoke a bit too much but I assume that will calm down as he gets into the swing. He wasn't as annoying as Lawrenson & he's done it for years.
  4. Lots of positives & a few negatives. I think we will have to accept that if we are attacking with lots of small, nippy interchanging forwards we are sometimes going to be out-muscled in other parts of the pitch at times & set-pieces are likely to be a season-long rollercoaster ride. Impressed with Kolo's aggression & hope it rubs off on Daniel & he can be a bit of a wuss for a central defender. Onward & upward.
  5. Free if you are on the top ( XL ) package, 15 sovs per month otherwise
  6. Been saying this for a while, that Henderson has all the raw material to be a very good defensive midfielder, probably better than Lucas in time as he is a bit pacier.
  7. That's my take on it exactly, MLB. Position we were a bit desperate for cover as Robinson hasn't trained on yet, Smith is too young & we need Johnson on the other side.
  8. Should see the other bloke. Actually you should, as De Guzman was butted out of the Dutch squad by the Dirkster.
  9. Difficult without knowing whether we are getting Will I Am or other 'marquee' signing/s but without this I think we will be inconsistent & 6th. Expect a good run in one of the cups & a shocker in the other.
  10. I don't think so, I just think that track & field was so low-profile in the USA that we managed to snaffle him for our coverage & a great decision it was by the Beeb. I think he has mentored a few of our athletes, but I think that was more as a result of him being involved with our t.v. coverage and available in the UK, rather than the other way around.
  11. A better defensive mids than Lucas & Suarez for Allen ( & then positionally swapped with Coutinho ) and that's a good team.
  12. She cleared me £350 for winning Wimbledon , so I can't worry too much about Sabine at this point.
  13. I hope you are right TB as I like the lad, I just can't see the talent there for a decent test career. With Bell you could always see he had technique but his temperament was the big worry. I was at an Achievers award in Manchester with my work when Jimmy A made his big breakthrough against Pakistan in the World Cup & ended up sitting in my room most of the night and getting loads of crap for being ignorant & only catching the dessert of the meal. Worth it though & I always remember Blowers saying on commentary ; By jove, I think we've found one !! '
  14. You shouldn't really struggle TE. You either find a parking space for free outside the restricted zone ( About half a mile around the ground ) and walk in - The Asda car park on Utting Avenue for instance. Or there are car parks nearer the ground ( @ £6 ) but get there handy. Alternatively park in the city centre & get a cab or a 17/217 bus right to the ground.
  15. There's a Dave Usher on ESPN confirming the story, supposed to be an ITK.
  16. Decent game for a friendly, Stevie got hooked after an hour & Glen was a no-show so happy enough overall. Well done to Norn Iron as well, watched the last 15 mins & they did well.
  17. It certainly hasn't helped him VV, but I just don't get the sense that he has the obvious raw materials to be a good test player. He looks to me a decent option in shorter forms of cricket if he doubles it up with a wicket-keeping gig, but as a test no.6 he doesn't look like he has it.
  18. I'd like to see Rashid get a go as this is one of the few Ashes tests you are ever going to get a chance to experiment in. Hasn't bowled that well this season but has similar figures to Monty & the Oval surface will help. He is also averaging 71 with the bat. If we are just looking to solidify the batting, I think we should be looking at better options than Bairstow going forward as he just looks short of the quality required. It's not like Root, who in my opinion just needs a bit of patience, I don't think Bairstow is good enough. The lad Ballance at Yorkshire looks a great prospect or maybe give Taylor another pop.
  19. ' Please note there are flashing images from the very start of this transmission ' ( and they'll get worse when the cameras start.)
  20. ' Brendan get back here quick, he's put the 'For Sale' sticker back on. '
  21. He will have to lose the golf gloves he wore on 'the voice'
  22. Doing well, Champ. In 5th coming up to the last event, the 800m ( About 5pm ). She needs to make up 3 seconds on the girl in 3rd, 2.2 seconds on the girl in 4th & keep the girl in 6th within half a second, to get a bronze.
