  1. He had far too much class & integrity for that shower. I wish him well wherever he goes next.
  2. Exactly my thoughts TD. Thought he was going to be a potential best ever, and thought he would kick on even more after his degree was completed, but he seems to have got more listless in his last few fights. Thought Bellew had no chance of beating him, but seeing him a bit stunned by Raul Meireles tonight, who knows ? That ref was desperate to stop that lad tonight btw, I can only assume he had money on an early Cleverly stoppage.
  3. Looks like they have reversed the order & Cleverley going on before Degale/Groves
  4. Cheers Lee, Don't think I'll bother with Sky having seen the bill and it starting after Paul Smith has finished.
  5. Still haven't made my mind up whether to buy as i've heard that the undercard isn't bad with Paul Smith & Lewis Rees on. I heard Gavin also mentioned but no mention on the Warren website.
  6. The first one about the Baylifts & the tarmaccing gypsies is probably my favourite ever thread on here. I've always felt while Simon has taken some skitting it has always been affectionate to my mind.
  7. Agree with that Liam, but sometimes a lucrative opportunity appears & it becomes worth the risk. As I said in the previous post the BBC website suggested he is on £ 320k for the fight & there is a good chance that even if beaten he could come out with his reputation enhanced & decent domestic & European fights are still available.
  8. Pleased to hear that BBBC have put the kybosh on the bet and they will both now get paid whatever happens. Didn't realise that Groves was on £320k for the fight. Don't think his Mrs. would have been happy if DeGale had taken what could end up the biggest purse of his career.
  9. That's me exactly Johnny. I have been really impressed with FSG so far but recognise that in effect they swapped Torres & Babel for Luis & Andy, so have not funded any transfers at all yet to my mind.
  10. The positive for me is that Barcelona don't have the fear of United that a lot of teams have. When English teams see United they see a team that gets all the luck & decisions & always find a way to win, when Barcelona look at United they see a team who they bummed in 3rd gear 2 years ago & have probably gone backward since.
  11. Didn't like Clarke saying yesterday that if the correct people aren't available at the right place we have an OK squad for next season already.
  12. I don't really mind Redknapp ( His skitting of Defoe yesterday was quite funny ) but he never shuts up does he, he makes Holloway look like a deaf mute.
  13. T'other way round SB , George has had 81 fights while Bernard has had 58, but George's are spread right back to the 70's. The Pascal v Hopkins fight is on Sky at 11am on Sunday ( I assume this is 'as live' although I am not an expert at time zones )
  14. Yes Moof , The King & the Saint -- Dalglish & St. John
  15. Got to the latter stages of an Echo ' Search for a star ' football thing but that was about it. My nephew infuriates me as he has had offers to train with Tranmere, Blackburn & Marine Reserves but can't be arsed enough to bother ' I don't like training, just playing '. I would have happily walked to these places for the opportunity when I was young.
  16. No neither of those, chaps. One still connected with the club & one a bit further back.
  17. Not estranged parents as such but finding out she was adopted has had a massive effect on my sister's life & has haunted her for 20-odd years ( Tried to trace her biological mum without success ). I genuinely don't think it would have bothered me much at all. Reading the first few comments here make me wonder if it is a man /woman thing.
  18. Got asked by a mate. We have had 16 players who have scored 100 goals or more for us, but only 2 have not scored any penalties amongst their tallies. Name them
  19. The new away shirt seems a bit 'fitted' so if between sizes I would definitely work upward.
  20. Me too, I expect early finishes for DeGale & Cleverly but I feel the need to see it. I am a sucker. Groves was silly to get involved in that bet, at the end of the day they are professionals with families & aren't meant to be working for nothing.
  21. I hope it's for genuine fitness reasons & not so Andy can go on the lash for a bit longer.
  22. Cheers FP. The Kazimier is a new one on me, but judging from the map it is around where my reprobate youth was spent in Snobs / Tuxedo Junction & The Club Continental
  23. Story in the BBC Sport gossip today that Salcido is going back to Mexico & Fulham want Konchesky back.
