  1. Sterling has all the ability in the world but its also his curse. He's had that ability since he was a kid at 11 and 12 and he still plays like hes that age. Over dribbling and beating players, letting crossing opportunities go to beat a man a second and third time, Shooting when there is a square ball for a tap in. What I call excited kid mistakes. If he gets a start in the prem and he doesn't have the beating of his marker with dribbling he will be found out. He has much more to learn about being a proper winger before hes ready.
  2. Thats my opinion on it, I dont know what match others were watching but were dominant over Arsenal for 90 minutes, Missed a ridiculous amount of chances and lost due to poor defending from Reina and Carragher. Regardless of what people say, Goalkeepers shouldn't get beat at the near post. If they do they are at fault, you cant say he has the rest of the net to worry about, thats his job, he's supposed to cover that gap while putting himself in a position to adjust to save a shot across the goal. When the shot comes near post its supposed to be a let off for the goalkeeper. He is no less at fault for letting Van Persie score through the near post gap than Carragher is for letting Van Persie go twice. Its all positioning and both players made a balls that cost us the game. Carragher knew it was his fault, He normally never shuts up slabbering at everyone else. 5 years ago Carragher would of went mental at himself for the state of his defending yesterday.
  3. Anyone still believing Jamie Carragher has the ability to play at the level we desire to be at (Top 4) Has more loyalty to Carraghers history for the club, what he's achieved rather than his current footballing ability. He's not the only culprit today but for me, hes finished as a footballer. Reina should never be beat at his near post but he is... Frequently
  4. The dread needs to go. There is every chance of us going on a run now. 4th isn't gone with enhanced day after manc defeat depression. Champions league and a cup is still a realistic achievable goal and doubting such shows the same mental weakness the players apparently suffer from. The anger shown by the liverpool players at Evras celebration around Suarez was evident. We are backing our striker from the top of the club to the bottom. Against International scrutiny, media pressure and political debate. Kenny has Soldiers in an outright rebellion with an US vs them mentality. His interview with the media yesterday only enhanced that. We will do well.
  5. I spent quite alot of time in Den Haag & Holland. Weed is more or less only unacceptable if your bothering someone by smoking it. A cop explained it to me one time after he asked me to put out a spliff in the middle of a typical European outside bar/cafe setting. In really good English he said "You have to put that out, A few people have complained about the smell of the drug and requested that I ask you to extinguish it" ( I thought it was funny that he was showing off the word extinguished (Which he blatently was) Then he gave me directions to the closest cafe that weed was accepted in and I went on my way. No confiscation or even dirty looks and the couple that complained smiled, thanked me for putting it out and i went to the cafe I was directed to. On other occasions, Cops have walked straight past me while ive been smoking, nodded in a greeting manner and went about their day The dutch are lovely people and its a great liberal way to be. I dont drink alcohol as my liver/kidneys cant handle it, I be in pain for days after drinking right down both my sides. So weed is my drug of choice. I guess thats why I was attracted to the country. Still love the place.
  6. Its hardly thick to presume a Senagalese international was born in Senegal, Its ignorant granted but you never can pass up an opportunity to be a full blown wanker.
  7. I dont understand the massive hatred for him. If he gets the job at West Ham, West Ham will improve just like all the other clubs he's managed from leicester to celtic to villa and to whoever else he manages. The man has a great track record and if he came here to the dismay of plenty of you I have no doubt he would do a good job here. Besides I love how many times he uses the word Immense. Its immense.
  8. The width downing would provide alone would benefit us. It would be like when Riera first signed and we were attacking so openly down all sides. I miss us having a dynamic left midfielder who hugs the touchline. It just helped us dominate teams.
  9. I bet and lost 25 quid that we would finish in the top 4 last year. I was so confident aswell I bet a workmate a furthur 20 quid and lost the heap. You've done the same thing.
  10. I thought this forum was full of wankers when I first started. Since then I haven't really changed my mind. They are mostly still wankers, they just focus their wankerish behaviour on newer members.
  11. When was kuyt not good enough to play on the right? Why the fuck do you spastic cunts think Kuyt is a bad player? Out of curiosity of course
  12. Young is a better player than Insua and costing two million less. I see nothing wrong with this move at all. I cant understand people complaining about the price, Young is a good player, He's english and hes not costing us the earth and the moon.
  13. The way babel acts infuriates me. I think i'd of wanted to punch him in real life if he was my neighbour. We're the same age, so he definately would of pissed me off.
  14. True that, Too cheap that is. Roy was running about on the training pitch with the lads, He looks in good nick. Im Irish so the only other manager i care about is Giovanni Trapattoni, He looks like he could die at any second and working with the national squad gave Bobby Robson his heart attack and he was only a bloody consultant. As disgraceful as it is, I know a dying manager when I see one.
  15. I love the optimism around here lately. I remember a long long while back on Tuesday, everyone was a dreary twat. Someone shouted "we might get Eto for Mascherano" and suddenly everyone starts acting like Championship Manager style signings really happen and you can get Eto plus cash for Mascherano. Class place to do a bit of the old reading this site is. You couldn't think it up yourself like?
  16. I would be delighted. Regardless of injury worries this free's up dirk to play on the left. Or as a forward.
  17. Offloadin a decent performer here. Has to be to free up finances. There's no logical reason to sell him without cover.
  18. I love half the paranoid lunatics on here. They make more up conspiracy theories than Tom Clancy. I blame them Marijuana cigarettes all the kids seem to be smoking these days!!! Heres an Idea: Like me, Roy Hodgson thought insua was a good player, But just a wee bit shit and that 5 millions a great price.
  19. Yes he was playing through injury. I agree that he didnt look 100 percent fit for alot of games and that has to be taken into account for his poor performances. But none of lucas's bad performances can be put on bad attitude. Gerrard arguably gave up by November. I dont think lucas is ever gonna be world class either but it just makes me question why Lucas gets so much stick and Gerrard gets so little.
  20. You can say that Gerrard has done enough to be allowed a bad season. Granted after everything hes done for the club the man has made himself more or less immune to criticism from red supporters especially scouse ones. But I ask you the question who deserves criticism for having a bad season more :The Captain of the club and country, experienced player with a team that has been built around him while supporting arguably the best striker in the world. or the :Bit part youth player being overused in a formation he's never played in, In a position thats alien to him. The argument with Gerrard and criticism can go both ways. I think what he's done makes him more susceptible to criticism, not give him a by ball to escape it. If anything that should be given to the youngster learning a new trade.
  21. Gerrard was terrible, If lucas had half as bad a season as Gerrard just did there would be 13 threads calling for his death. Not a whisper about Gerrard and he was terrible.
  22. Wanna hear something funny that I honestly believe? Lucas was better than Gerrard last year. FACT! Bring on the negs
  23. I don't understand. He's a kid with tonnes of potential He had a shit first season. He improved massively in his second season. Now everyones wanting rid for shit money. We play him out of his position to compensate Gerrard. 'He's learning something new' In my idiots guide for developing young players and making them good. Patience is the most important bit. It is not his fault Rafa cocked up with Alonso and he was thrown into the deep end. With a fanbase excited at the prospect of a title winning side that failed. He takes more criticism because its common to give it to him. Let's be honest its easy to criticise lucas because the media back it up. Same with rafa. Give him time. A young lad managed to run about in a midfield with gerrard kuyt benayoun and mascherano and not look out of place last season. You cant do that if your shit. No less than 8 million
